Creepy Weird People, Gluten Free Vegan Shampoo & Conditioner, Vegan Fajitas, Car Alarms
Hi Friends! Hopefully your weekend is off to a good start! I am so glad to just be spending time with Scott and Skylar.
What I’m not so glad about it what I woke up to today. It seems there are a lot of weird, creepy people out there with nothing better to do that talk sh*t about me, my blog, my life, my child, what we look like, what we eat, where we live, what we do, it just goes on and on. Without going into too much detail, it seems there are entire forums dedicated to bashing others. I am on the receiving end. And of course this isn’t the first, second, or tenth time. And it saddens me. It makes me wonder why I blog?
After my last run in a couple weeks ago with some safety and security violations, if I am honest, these things all make me wonder what the future holds for my blog. Don’t freak out; as I said last time, I am not stopping blogging, but when the venom and hateful words get a little too close for comfort, I do wonder, ponder, and contemplate the pros and cons to blogging.
I think all bloggers who have ever experienced negative feedback in any capacity wonder why they expose themselves. But, to give in and stop blogging or radically change how I blog would be to allow the scuz to win and I would not do that! Just mentioning this all as a reminder, again, to everyone: Be careful what you post; be careful what you say, there are thousands of people reading and trolling the internet and not all of them are sane, rational, or nice.
Enough of that…whew.
The other day I walked into a hair salon that I pass daily. The last time I got my hair done, it was at a new to me salon, and although it was “fine”, I wasn’t in love with my color right after she did it. The thing about my hair is that it bleaches out very easily in the sun and after 2 to 3 weeks, it looks great. But the first couple weeks, it tends to be brassy in some parts, overly violet-toned in others. The sun can “cure” just about anything from a color perspective with my hair but I want someone who can get my color just right. No help from the sun needed. So, I think I found someone for my next appointment which isn’t for another month but not having a hair stylist is like some bloggers not having nut butter. You get a little worried.
But I did find some New Shampoo and Conditioner at that salon called Unite
It’s Sulfate-Free (so it’s not as bubbly and sudsy which does take some time to get used to) but it’s also Vegan, and Gluten-Free.
I have used them once and so far I like them, a lot. My hair feels noticeably softer, nicer, and just better after one use. They were $53 for the pair and quite a splurge for me so I’m glad I like them! All the stylists at this salon raved about them so that’s good. They said they like these even better than Pureology. Cool.
Skylar saw this in Target and for $3 bucks, this was her splurge
She’s been happily trying to brush her hair which usually ends up in a swirled rat’s nest of knots, but hey, you gotta learn some time!
From my Last Posts…
Remember when I said that I had something to talk about but I wasn’t really sure how to say it or what to say or really where I was going with my Hodgepodge of Thoughts? Well, most of you said you have the same issues, and with regular frequency, and that you just start talking and it seems to help you achieve some clarity.
I did talk to a few awesome friends (Madeline, Katie, Jessica…thank you girls!) and I think I’m on track with things. Talking does help, especially with great friends. You really need to read all their blogs if you’re not already!
And I loved hearing what drinks bring back memories of certain times in your life! Seems lots of you have memories of Hpnotiq, Alize, and Wine-in-a-Box. hah!
Thanks for the compliments on my super cheap recycled tshirt find and on my “Guns”….haha!

Questions 1. Best thing you’ve ate or done this weekend so far?
Me = a walk with Scott and Skylar. Just talking, and being together. It was lovely. And then, I ran a zillion errands by myself at warp speed and was super productive.
2. Have you ever had anything creepy happen to you? Either as a result of your blog or in real life? Any creepers, freaks, whackos or weirdos you want to talk about?
I’ve had plenty in my real life. The internet is so far reaching though and people sit at their desks, sort of like in their cars, where they think they have a shield of armor so they can cut you off or flick you off and somehow their car is protecting them. Well, I think computers, the internet, and a perceived sense anonymity help to facilitate the creepers talking sh*t.
I wish I could meet them in real life. They are probably little trolls who live under bridges with sad, miserable lives. Sucks to be them…hah!
3. Vegan, Gluten-Free, Natural, Holistic type personal care products. Have you tried any?
I posted here about a few things I already use but that I don’t always reach for the “natural” items as they don’t always work as well for me and can be really pricey.
4. Car alarms. Do you think they work or deter anyone from actually stealing a vehicle? Or are they simply a way to randomly go off at 3:42am and wake up the neighborhood?
I tend to think the later and since I live in an urban area, there is always some really loud car alarm going off. Good thing I practice my yoga breathing otherwise I’d be inclined to freak out. Some of them cycle for 5+ minutes if the owner doesn’t come to shut them off and they are really loud and annoying!
Have a great weekend everyone! Unplug, and enjoy real life!
