Cookbook Review, My Arm Looks Very Different, Tattoo Thoughts
Hi Friends! How is your week going so far? I know a lot of you don’t love Tuesdays, you think they’re worse than Mondays, so hopefully you’re powering through. As soon as I hit publish, I am off to go get my hair color touched up. Yay for that!
Last week in the mail I received:
The folks at BookPubCo sent it to me as part of their Luscious Vegan Desserts Campaign
I can’t wait to check out recipes like these:
The way I like to cook, or uncook, is with recipes that are easy, straight-forward, not complicated and don’t require too much time or costly, specialty or “exotic” ingredients. I’ve posted before my thoughts on what makes a Great Recipe.
I can’t wait to try out a few recipes from my new Simple Treats book soon. Thanks BookPubCo!
The other day I stocked up with some more Key Lime Gum that I mentioned
I also picked up the Strawberry Shortcake flavor too
From yesterday’s post on my Weekend Happy Hour Pictures. Thanks for the compliments. It was a fun little hour out!
And leaving work at the office, seems that most of you try your best, but yes, it’s hard!
As for channel flippers, it was evident that either you are a flipper or your significant other is one. Hopefully your significant other doesn’t want to throttle you from all that flipping if you’re the one doing it!
Snack of the Day: Chocolate Cheezy Coconut Oil Protein Popcorn
An easy 30+ grams of protein if you’re interested in things like that.
Tip of the Day: LAST CALL FOR MY Zevia Give Away!
This post would not be complete without mentioning that last Friday morning my Left Arm looked like this
And now, it does not.
I got my Tattoo!
Not sure if I want to deal with the negative and rude comments about “why did you do that?“ twice. Or just once, 3 weeks from now. What do you think?
Questions
1. Do you have a favorite cookbook?
I have tons of cookbooks, and I’d say my favorite cook/author who I can relate to her recipes, insights, and relatively simple ingredient lists and not super fussy or complicated preparation times, is Ani Phyo. But honestly, it’s very hard for me to pick. She just comes to mind right away, but there are tons others that I love!
2. If you were a vegetable or fruit today, what would you be and why?
Today I think I’d be a chili pepper. Spicy, full of heat, but also sweet if you get past the spice.
3. What are your thoughts on Tattoos?
Some people think tattoos are: ugly, dirty, “marring” of the physical body, anti-religious, nasty, etc. If that’s what you think of them, then don’t get one!
I think the right tattoo on the right person done by the right artist can be: awesome, beautiful, creative, fun, expressive, passionate, artistic, cool, wonderful, etc.
Some people can appreciate the “cool factor” or appreciate the reasons why someone else would want to get a tattoo, even if they don’t personally want one. Thank god people like this exist! It’s the people who don’t want tattoos for themselves but judge others harshly that I don’t understand. I expect plenty of negative mail about my big tattoo so I am just bracing myself!
4. Should I post my tattoo in-progress pictures or just wait til the final product for a big reveal?
Stay tuned for a post on Judgment & Being Critical of Others. But for now, I am off to get my hair done!
