Shopping in my Own Kitchen
Welcome to the weekend! It’s absolutely gorgeous weather here. High 70s, sunny, no clouds, the weather is perfect
I went to Marshall’s today
I had fun browsing around. I mentioned that Cute Dishes were on my wish list.
But one of my New Year’s Intentions is to pay off my debt and save money in 2011. So rather than buy any new dishes….
….I went shopping in my own kitchen. And bought zero new dishes at Marshall’s today.
But this is what I found in my own kitchen. And it’s new to me, again.
Two bamboo bowls that I bought for Skylar when she was a baby because I was scared to have my precious flesh and blood exposed to the BPA in plastic.
A couple baking dishes I found
I bought this little bowl for about $5 bucks at Target about 18 months ago. And totally forgot about it.
Many of these dishes are from West Elm. I use them sometimes. But they are oversized and take up a lot of room in my dishwasher so I don’t reach for them as much as my 10 year old totally beat-up “every day” dishes.
Forgot about these green bowls, too
But I confess. I did not leave Marshall’s empty-handed.
For dinner, I think I am going to make some Sesame Ginger Maple Tofu
It’s fast to make, and easy. Which sounds good to me on a Friday night!
Dessert: High Raw Vegan Chocolate Mexican Wedding Cookies
No-bake, one bowl, and easy!

Ends Saturday (tomorrow!) Morning – Last Chance to Enter!
1. Do you care what your dishes look like?
I never used to care. At all.
About 5 years or so ago, I appreciated cute dishes, of course.
But in the past 5 years have become obsessed with cute kitchen things!
I don’t know if it’s just the stage of life I’m in, i.e. being a mom and having a house and kitchen, or if it’s the food blogger in me or what, but I love cute dishes! I have to restrain myself from buying more because I end up with more dishes than storage space!
2. Where do you like to shop for household furnishings and items?
In no particular order and some places I do more window shopping than actual shopping, but it’s fun to look!
I like Target, West Elm, Marshall’s, Homegoods, TJ Maxx, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Pier One, Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie, Williams Sonoma, Bed Bath & Beyond.
Vintage stores and thrift shops (I like finding and buying used items and goodies)
And, sometimes I shop in my own kitchen. I’d prefer a trip to Anthropologie, though!
3. Do you ever shop in your own kitchen? Or in your own closet?
I do. In both! Never know what you’re going to find!
See you tomorrow! It’s time to do an outdoor workout!
