Progress & Refueling

Don’t mind me or the lack of me breaking out my DSLR for the past few posts.  It’s all about the iPhone pics when I’m busy.

I am getting ready to move tomorrow!

And have been knee deep in boxes and pre-moving today.  As I have been for the last week, apart from my whirlwind weekend in Mexico City.

Today’s progress so far:

The fridge is well stocked with the essentials

I could refuel a glass or two.

The homemade komboucha-brewing oak barrel has been moved

I could refuel with some ‘booch!

Not sure whether I should unpack the Juicer or the Espresso Maker first?

I’m thinking the later.  Always a good refueling choice.

For those of you in my last post who didn’t know what IG is?  It’s an iPhone app.  I highly recommend it.  I recommend it and love it way more than Twitter.   <–Not really a big fan, but use it.

Instagram, however, I am a big fan.  Follow me and watch what I’m up to throughout the day.

The weather is perfect for moving.  About 70F, sunny, with a few puffy clouds.

And a light breeze.

Just breezy enough to make it trick to capture these purple flowers without them blowing in the wind.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to refuel with a snack of champions:

A Vanilla Iced Coffee

And a couple Fugdy Nutella Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting I found in a tupperware in the back of my freezer.  Score!

1. What have you refueled with today?

No shame in drinking coffee or eating dessertsI do it all the time!

Of course I eat plenty of fruits, veggies, drink water, and all that jazz but when you’re running up and down flight after flight of stairs (we currently live in a 4 story vertical urban townhouse!) there is nothing better than caffeine + chocolate to power me late into the night tonight.

Movers will be here at 9am tomorrow morning for the furniture and everything else I haven’t brought over in my pre-moving car loads.  Wish me luck!

2. When was the last time you moved?

For me, it was just 13 months ago.  Ugh.  This move was not by choice but you know what, I love the new place and am happy the way things worked out and provided the owners don’t want to sell it (and they said they have no intentions to do so), we will hopefully be there quite a long time to come!

P.S. Thanks for all the entries in my $25 Swanson Vitamins Giveaway.  Glad you’re excited to win some free shopping money!

  1. It’s times like this I really wish I liked coffee.

  2. Ah you just helped me decide what to make for a friend’s birthday BBQ this weekend! Totally going with these brownies!!!

  3. Def sending you good luck vibes for tomorrow !

  4. Good luck with the move! Looks like you have the essentials already moved: kombucha and booze! :)

Everything I ate today was pretty boring except for that Snickers bar I split with Jason — THAT was good!

  5. I am sending you good and easy moving vibes! I hope for you that it is easy and pain free. And that you will love your new place and get to stay as long as you want.

  6. I absolutely ADORE the first picture of you!! So gorgeous and happy amidst the chaos – I love it and so admire you for your positivity, even if it wasn’t planned and isn’t how you would like to be spending your time. Keep smiling :)

I’ve refueled with a couple iced coffees today! And fresh, juicy fruit is good, too.

Last time I moved…two years ago? If it counts. Wasn’t moving a whole house…just from my apt. house back home! You don’t realize how much stuff you can cram into a single room until you’ve gotta move it all, that’s for sure…

    • Are you kidding me? = I absolutely ADORE the first picture of you!! So gorgeous and happy amidst the chaos –

Girl. I was soooo shiny, dirty hair, disgusting. The only way I could even publish the pic was to put some effects on it. lol

Thank you for saying that tho..I totally needed that right about now :)

  7. Hahaha Love the refreshments in the fridge! Priorities! ;) Good luck tomorrow.

  8. I really want to brew kombucha!! Time to do some research! So glad the moving shenanigans are almost over for you. And you’re super organized so I’m sure unpacking won’t be so bad.

Today I refueled with some banana soft serve! Hopefully it gives me energy to put my laundry away.

I moved in May. A pain, but definitely worth it. Trying to get a couch up to a second story apartment with a staircase that turns a corner was rough though!

  9. I fueled my day at work with a kombucha, plenty of veggies, and a super sweet clementine! After work I went on a run with a friend and got Subway (veggie sub for me) for post workout dinner refueling. And now that I’m home I’m all over the jar(s) of peanut butter…!

  10. I’ll be sending good vibes your way tomorrow, good luck with everything! Just refueled with a cold baked sweet potato as part of my dinner. Perfect for when its too hot for a warm meal.

  11. Good luck with the remainder of the move!
Last time we tackled that was exactly 2 years ago tomorrow into our current house but before that we moved 2x in one year. As much as I hate moving, I do want to move 1 more time back to Florida and then NEVER AGAIN! haha

  12. I moved a year ago, but my apartment still needs work- I feel like a home is a constant work in progress, whether you move or not :)

  13. The DSLR is not too convenient when when you’re juggling so much else! Glad you’re getting settled in! Instagram is fun, a little addicting. :-)

    1. Salad, smoothie, granola, red pepper hemp soup, and potato rounds.
    2. 5 years ago and I have no desire to anytime soon! :-)

  14. I’ve refueled with coffee, jazzed up with vanilla soy milk, vanilla, and a probiotics sweetener. Mmm. That picture of the iced vanilla coffee always makes me drool a little…

I moved cross country 2.5 weeks ago. And 5 months before that. And a month before that. Being a college student+studying abroad+graduating=LOTS of moving. It’s exhausting! But exciting. I spent 5 months living in a country who’s food was all about meat, fried-ness, and white bread. I can relate to your experiences in Mexico-strengthening of convictions indeed.

  15. I can so relate to moving. Sucks doesn’t even begin to describe how much it…sucks. Yeah. UGH.

I got IG after you told me to. I see a new obsession. Its actually good, since I am not or was not using my iphone to its full potential. I’m still not really, but whatever.

  16. The fact that you never seem to make a dent in that booze never ceases to amaze me. Clearly, Colin and I need to plan a trip out to San Diego to help you out with that…

  17. def unpack the coffee maker first!!!
all the best as you spend your last eve/night in your current home – always a bit of nostalgia involved, i find!
last move was almost 7 years ago – time flies! i adore my condo home and hope to stay here for a very long time!
i enjoyed coffee with a friend today at my favourite coffee place!

  18. I’ve been thinking about downloading instagram, and you just inspired me to actually do it! :)
Glad it’s not too hot for your move. I refueled with veggies and ice cream today!

  19. I had a kahlua with almond milk that was pure bliss tonight! Good luck with the move tomorrow. I know I’m going to have to do that soon!

  20. I’m all about the iphone pics when i’m busy too!!!
Good luck on the move – i moved 2 weeks ago when our house sold and our new build won’t be ready for 2 more weeks so we are living with my parents :D
Its actually working out really well, they are more then willing to taste test my vegan cookies and commiserate with my hubby over the weird stuff i eat :)

  21. you’re doing great! I’m in my 23rd house… and I’m 25. My parents liked moving a lot. I moved out when I was 17 and then moved a bunch of times too before I bought my first place. Then, we built our current home last June. This will be our last move for a long, long time. I love it too much to leave it!

  22. We just moved 12 months ago and are about to do it as soon. Ugh. I know what you’re going through. My mom and 4 paranoid sensitive kitties makes moving… Stressful, lol.

I’m glad your weather is at least perfect. It’s hot and humid here. Happy we don’t have to move right this second.

Stay strong!! Soon things will return to just crazy normal, lol.

  23. Love that your fridge is stocked with the “essentials”….booze!
Last time I moved was from Hawaii back to California in May. That was an adventure…we had to ship everything…literally on a ship. It took over a month for everything to get here and UPS was convinced the box was lost. That was a rough month!

i am a big probiotic drinker too…my brew is from water kefir….wondering if i could make the coconut kefir you made using my grains…i always have extra to experiment with

  25. Look at all that wine! A girl after my own heart :)

  26. Good luck with the move! I’ll be thinking of you. We’re moving in the next couple of weeks and I hate the stress of it xxx

  27. The last time I moved was four years ago when the hubby and I bought our first home together. We were living in an apartment before, and hoping and wishing, and praying that we would find the right house for us. We did, and still love it :-)

  30. That’s that. I have to make those brownies! :)

Good luck with the rest of the move!

  31. Yum, eating dessert definitely sustains me. I can’t imagine a 4-story vertical townhouse! I get tired just thinking about it! It has actually been almost 15 years since I have lived anywhere with even a second story. I loved it when I was a kid, I don’t know how about now. But I do live in top floor apartment, so technically there are stairs to get up here, but once I’m here. I can be as lazy as I want ;)

It’s been 4-5ish years since I’ve moved? But we’re desperately trying to find a new place. I am SO done with getting jerked around by this one. And we’d really like to move somewhere SAFE this time. Although, maybe it should be comforting that the cops are here on a daily basis…
