  6. Something that stresses me out are the many commitments I find myself making. It’s a season of giving, but this time of year I tend to give TOO much of myself, not leaving me time to do things for me and re-energize. Saying “no” once in a while is ok, but I still have a problem allowing myself to do that. It helps to exercise to relieve a little of the pressure.

  9. Oh my goodness — I know I just won something but I could totally use this! I’m stressed because I’m balancing work with trying to find more jobs while my husband is going through finals at school — plus there’s the holidays!
    I make time for myself once a week for acupuncture (I found a great sliding scale place) and also weekly I go to a Meditation Sangha…those two things keep me grounded. Meditation is something I try to do every day to help with stress and anxiety.

  14. The crowds overwhelm me. Everywhere you go, its so crowded! I try my best to get my shopping done early and plan ahead so trips to the store are minimal. Making a list is my way of keeping stress at bay because I know exactly what needs to get done!

  20. Trying to be everywhere at once between my family and my husband’s stresses me out, and the possibility of having to travel in the snow. To destress I try to keep my routine of exercise and mostly healthy eats as much as possible, then kick back and relax with a glass of wine wherever we might be!

  22. i get stressed out if i haven’t come up with good gifts for everyone. and if work is getting more difficult.

    this year to reduce stress, i’m giving myself extra minutes every day to write. it mellows me out, and lets me think more clearly. i’m also just going to make a more conscious effort to savor the good things during december. the holidays are my favorite time of year, and if i remind myself nothing is really worth stressing over, i can enjoy the time with my family, the beautiful scenery (even though it’s freezing), the good food, and the festive feel of the month. :-)

  23. Whenever I’m stressed, my eye starts twitching….haha….but anyway, I usually just have to get away from everyone and everything, so that usually includes going outside to breathe. My back porch is so relaxing so it usually helps a lot.

  30. Now that both my brother and I are married I feel stress in making sure all the parents feel like they get enough “face time” with us on the actual holiday.

    My general stress relief tip is to go for a long walk or run without music in a pretty, natural area. We have several Greenways nearby, so fortunately this is readily available!

  31. All of the family obligations stress me out a little. Don’t get me wrong – I love my family – but sometimes it doesn’t leave me with enough “me” time to just unwind. Getting in a morning workout helps to get rid of a lot of that stress and sets a positive tone for the day. :)

  32. Obligations stress me out during the holidays. The calendar is full and the errands never seem to end. Here’s how I limit stress – I withdraw. Nothing drastic or antisocial, but I try to make sure there is room in my day for time that doesn’t need to be “productive”. Once I’ve had an hour with a cup of coffee and the couch, it’s amazing how my stress fades and my mood lifts!

    I relieve stress by baking and exercising. So a massage would be amazing for stress relief… and because of the exercise, too. :)
