Something that stresses me out is the whole present thing at this time of the year. In our immediate families all the kids are grown and no one has started having babies yet… Since we’re all in a position to handle most of our “needs” and “wants”… presents seem like such a hassle… and we’re about two financial brackets down from my brothers in law… so that doesn’t help! To destress, I take baths… in epsom salt!

The thing that stresses me the most is spending lots of time with my family. While it can oftentimes be enjoyable, it can also cause a lot of stress.

The never ending to do list this time of year stresses me out. What I do to relieve stress is to schedule “lazy” time. Time where I feel no guilt for not checking items off my list!

I get stressed out from shopping for gifts in busier than normal stores. The crowds get to me! To combat that, I try to find time during weekdays when shops are less busy, or do some of my gift buying online.

    Thanks!

One thing that stresses me out this time of year is getting my Christmas shopping done. I usually wait til last minute. Not good!

To reduce stress: sitting by the lit up Christmas tree with a cup of tea or a glass of wine while catching up on DVR.

Feeling over-extended this time of year stresses me out, so I’ve learned to say no. Also, if I’m pressed for time, I do a mini-workout rather than skipping out entirely. That helps a TON!

Finals season, followed immediately by the holiday season and family/extended family time can make for significant stress. When things get too much I try to take a couple minutes to just sit by myself, have a nice cup of tea, and read a little. Usually does the trick! Though chocolate also never hurts.

Work has been totally stressing me out like crazy!!!! ugh this would be perfect!
To reduce my stress? To be perfectly honest, I am horrible about that. It has gotten so bad that my neck is very stiff-so I have taken to laying down with the eating pad on my neck watching a mindless movie. It eases the pain and takes my mind off of things! Finding something that I can immerse myself in is key. My next option is to cook!

What stresses me out the most about the holidays is the pressure to buy gifts for so many people. My family is very large. How do I de-stress? This year I’m trying to make gifts to save money but it’s actually becoming a little more stressful than I thought. If I can’t finish, then gift cards as a last resort. No shopping this year!

It’s holiday tradition for me to take on more than I can handle. Whether it’s committing to baking too many desserts for holiday parties/to give away, last minute shopping, or whatever..it happens like clockwork! I can always expect to be stressed during this time of year. Buuut, the time I get to spend with family/friends and the holiday spirit trumps the stress, for sure! My stress reducing tip is to RELAX and remember why you’re doing what you’re doing. Chances are, it’s to make the ones you love smile :)

Shopping stresses me. If I had my way items would not only be delivered, they would be placed on the shelf or in the closet ready to use when I need them. I don’t think that is an unreasonable request. Because I was gifted an unusual variety and amount of fruits this year, I made fruit butters (apple, pear, cherry, fig, and plum). I am giving fruit butters to most people on my list and avoiding shopping. I feel better already. Now if I could just get those pesky packages mailed. They are nearly ready… For stress release, nothing works better for me than a hot bath with epsom salts….followed by a cup of chai tea in front of the woodstove with the cat at my feet. Oh, and a good book….

I get stressed about my (extended) family making the gift giving part of the holiday too big of a deal (stressing out about things to get and what to get for who)… I always emphasize it is not the things, it is the time together that is important. I have 2 stress busting tips: 1. Yoga. No joke. It keeps me grounded and washes away a multitude of stress. For at least an hour I can forget about everything else off my mat and just be. This re-energizes me to face everything. 2. Plan ahead. Most of the time the bulk of my shopping is done before Thanksgiving. My husband and I pick a day, he takes off work, and we go to the store to get the kids their gifts. This is also a good time for us to re-connect and bond as well.
