KitchenAid Stand Mixer
After years of wanting one, it finally happened.

The kitchen appliance Gods came through for me with a KitchenAid Professional 600 Series Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer in Nickle Pearl.
I also had a coupon that helped offset some of the cost, helping to make my new BFF a reality.

The only thing I’ve made so far in it is frosting.
But since I am no stranger to baking, rest assured there will be…
Cookies
Peanut Butter Oatmeal White Chocolate Chip Cookies

And Brownies
Fudgy Nutella Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting

And pans of Bars being made in it…
White Chocolate Vanilla Marshmallow Cake Bars

Samoas Bars (Vegan & GF options)

Now, let me go hug my lover.

What’s your favorite kitchen appliance or most used appliance?
I have a Favorite Kitchen Appliances & Items post where I discuss hits, misses, and over-rated appliances, in my opinion.
Also, my favorite Baking Supplies
My Vita tops the hit list and so does a good knife and a cutting board. I have my knife and cutting board out umpteen times a day slicing something. A good knife is just as important as anything else.
Do you have any kitchen appliances on your wish list?
I have wanted this for years and suffice to say I bake. A lot. I know I will use it.
Up until now, every single recipe on my site for the past three years, I have made by hand. I really can’t believe it, but it’s true.
With rare exception, I don’t even bother taking out my little cheapie hand mixer. Anything more than egg whites and it can’t handle the dough and smells like burning plastic. My biceps, triceps, and elbow grease have been my appliance of choice. Until now.
I want a Beater Blade, too, for it as many people just rave about them.
There are amazing deals to be had on stand mixers on the KitchenAid site in their Outlet Store section; from Bed Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon, on Ebay, Craigslist, Amazon.com, and online.
Various department stores like Kohl’s or Macy’s will run specials and sales on stand mixers (and other higher ticket appliances) and will also offer coupons or money back if you spend a certain dollar amount, making the 5 quart KitchenAid mixers in the low $1oo range.
Persistence and online deal-trolling is key.
Happy Baking!

Jealous!!!! Those kitchenaids are amaaaaazing. We have one but it’s sitting in storage in new york. a bit far atm lol. I’ve got a vitamix on my wishlist. I even told my partner he could get me one instead of an engagement ring when the time came. He looked at me like I had two heads….

How exciting! Congrats on your newest addition! And with all the fancy attachments, the possibilities are endless.
I’d love to try baking with a Silpat; I never have before. I know you and other bloggers swear by them . . .

Averie!
With the amount of baking that you do, I’m really glad that you finally picked one of these babies up! I know that you’ll get a ton of use out of it.
I got the spatula paddle and …. the ice cream maker attachment for mine for Christmas. I still have to test ‘em out but am psyched.
Happy baking!

wooohoooo!! congratulations and welcome to the club :) LOVE my kitchenaid — it’s the single best thing in my kitchen and you will get so much use out of it! it works like a charm and i honestly don’t know how i lived without it before. I really want the spatula paddle too and the pasta attachment, but the first thing i need to get is an immersion blender! i’ve been eyeing one on amazon and i just need to pull the trigger and get it! enjoy your new toy :)

I LOVE my KitchenAid mixer. Hubby got me a red one for Christmas – just because I wanted a red one. And he never knows what gifts to get me, so when daughter told him I was lusting after a red KitchenAid, he got it. In spite of my perfectly working, 15 year old KitchenAid. Which will now have to be re-homed. I think daughter had something in mind.

Oh it is SO beautiful! I love the color. I don’t have a stand mixer and I want one SO bad. We don’t really have room in our kitchen but I’d make room! ;)

Congrats Averie! That is a beautiful mixer! I own a white KA which was a pre-wedding gift from my gramma (though I don’t want to use it until I get married, it feels wrong, lol).
My current favorite kitchen appliances are my magic bullet and my pink handled Kitchen Aid santuko knife.
#1 on my wish list is a Vitamix (though I don’t know that I will ever be able to afford one), #2 is a juicer (which I should be receiving a hand me down pretty soon!) and #3 is a dehydrator.

So jealous! Can’t wait to see what new recipes you whip up in it!

That’s amazing! When you buy quality, it tends to last :)

Congrats on finally getting one and great color! My Vitamix is probabaly my most used appliance followed by my food processor. I’vebeen thinking about a pressure cooker for my next appliance.

Congratulations! I am very jealous, but very happy for you!
I noticed you mentioned using your old hand blender for egg whites – I recently tried to make a sponge cake which required beating 9 eggs, and my hand blender was broken…so I did this by hand. Never again!
Therefore, a stand mixer, or at least a new hand mixer is on the top of my list. However, my favorite kitchen appliances that I currently have are probably my juicer and food processer. Both were long-awaited, and both are frequently used.
Can’t wait to see what you whip up in the new mixer!

Congrats! I don’t think I would use a stand mixer enough to justify the cost, but I keep telling Aubrey that I would use a Vita-mix DAILY if we had one. Unfortunately, that is not going to be in the budget for a loooong time, lol.

Congrats! :) I’m still saving for a vita. I’m still using my mom’s blender that she got for her wedding in the 70s and never used! Its old looking but a bit of a beast. Still no vita though…

Congrats!!! I love the color you picked. I love mine and use it all the time:)

Ahhh congratulations! I don’t know where I would be in life without my KitchenAid mixer and my Cuisinart food processor… I would be lost, I’m not even kidding!

Yay for KitchenAid stand mixers! I love when people get excited about them becuase they’re produced in the tiny town in which I grew up – Greenville, Ohio. I have the Artisan stand mixer, but since my family gets a pretty hefty discount, I’ve been thinking about getting the Professional series version. Because one baker needs two stand mixers, right? :) Enjoy your new mixer!
