Valentine’s Day is my most favorite holiday. I celebrate by giving chocolate and other sweets to my girlfriends and coworkers. It is the best day ever. It’s been several years since I’ve attempted homemade truffles. I may try it again this year using Ina Garten’s recipe.

The recipe is for Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake at Mangio Dasola’s blog. It’s one of the most elegant and easiest (although there are several steps, so plan ahead) desserts I’ve ever made. It’s to die for!

I plan on combining Valentines Day and Mardi Gras together since they are days apart and both fun. I am going to spend it with my to favorite guys, my hubby and my six year old. I have pinned 6 recipes to try for that week of V-day and Mardi Gras to make my guys happy! Love them and cant wait to try them.

I’m working the evening shift on Valentine’s Day :0( I plan to make some snickerdoodles the weekend before though, since they are my boyfriend’s favorite.

I’m planning on hiring a babysitter so that for the first time in 4 years my husband and I can actually go out on Valentine’s Day and spend some time alone just staring into each other’s eyes over a delicious meal.

My husband and I have “Bistro” night. We pick a theme (this year will be Vietnamese) and make appetizers we’ve never made before. The more exotic, the better. We prepare them together and then share them together while practicing our dancing to some wonderful music.

our normal:
breakfast: heart waffles with red (strawberry syrup)
lunch: sandwiches cut into heart shapes
dinner: homemade lasagna
dessert: strawberry shortcake with homemade whipped cream and red sprinkles
