Protein plays a number of different roles in the body. It repairs body cells, builds and repairs muscles and bones, provides a source of energy, and controls many of the important processes in the body related to metabolism.

Incorporating protein into my daily diet doesn’t always come easy. I don’t eat animal flesh. No meat, fish, chicken, and although I do bake with eggs, I never sit down to a plate eggs and the same can be said for milk. I bake with milk and cream, but don’t drink much milk.

pureprotein-6

That’s where protein supplements come in handy. Although protein from food sources is ideal, sometimes I need a boost and Pure Protein products are one way I can quickly and easily incorporate protein into my everyday lifestyle.

Peanut Butter is by far my favorite protein. I make sandwiches with it, add it to smoothies, dollop it on oatmeal, dip fruit in it, just eat it by the spoonful. I could keep going!

My favorite way to add protein into my diet is with greek yogurt and lentils – they are great additions to a fruit or vegetable based snack, respectively. AND I just discovered dried lentil trail mix this year which is DELICIOUS. But sometimes when I’m in a hurry or want to keep working without taking time for a meal involving utensils, PureProtein products are great!

As a vegetarian, I’m always looking for creative ways to add protein. I add almonds and walnuts to almost everything and hummus and carrots is one of my favorite snacks. Nut butter sandwiches are a main stay, and I’m starting to use almond milk more when baking and with oatmeal.
