FoodSaver® 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer Giveaway ($200 Value)

The FoodSaver® 4800Vacuum Sealing System is the first-ever 2-in-1 Food Preservation System.

It provides the ability to preserve foods in both the long and short term with ease.

It has the functionality and convenience of two vacuum sealing appliances in one.

This system works with FoodSaver® heat seal bags and rolls for long-term freezer storage or with FoodSaver® FreshSaver® Vacuum Zipper Bags, canisters and containers for short-term food preservation.

In addition, a handy marinate mode infuses food with flavor in minutes instead of hours.

Compact, upscale, and fully automatic, this appliance features an easy-open drawer with patented removable drip tray for easy clean up.

The FoodSaver® system keeps food fresh up to five times longer, helps prevent freezer burn, and can save families up to $2,700 a year.

Many people think of meat or proteins when they think of food sealing systems, but I think of cookie dough. You can preserve cookie dough for quick and easy baking on your schedule.

Or seal and ship your baked goodies to your friends, family, and loved ones across the miles.

There are so many things that I want to preserve! I’d say meat & fish are probably what I lose the most to freezer-burn.

  2. kristin — December 16, 2013 at 7:35 am (#

I would use it to preserve meat products.

  3. Stephanie Ferrell — December 16, 2013 at 7:55 am (#

Meat! I would use the FoodSaver to preserve meat. We waste so much $$$ in meat that we don’t use before it goes bad.

  4. Susan T — December 16, 2013 at 8:07 am (#

Would love this – too many spoiled cookies and frostings in the freezer!

  5. Nicole — December 16, 2013 at 8:08 am (#

I bet it would be perfect for freezing already marinated meat!

  6. Jamie — December 16, 2013 at 10:43 am (#

I would seal lots and lots of cookie dough to freeze!

  7. Renae — December 16, 2013 at 11:19 am (#

Cookie dough would be great for this, and anything you can freeze and keep for a long time!

For starters? I buy meat from a local butcher and I would like to be able to seal and freeze it – especially when he has a great sale.

  9. Jeannette — December 16, 2013 at 11:39 am (#

my frozen meats!! they seem to get frost bite before i can use it all up!

  10. Anna — December 16, 2013 at 1:06 pm (#

I buy meat in bulk for my large family and would love to use this to prevent freezer burn!

  11. stephanie — December 16, 2013 at 2:36 pm (#

I love making crockpot recipes and portioning them out to freeze. My family can cherry-pick from our freezer at any time, which gives me more time to bake!

  12. Sylvia — December 16, 2013 at 3:54 pm (#

I have a tendency to freezer burn meat – this would definitely help with that!

  13. Rachel Witt — December 16, 2013 at 6:29 pm (#

Sounds wonderful! I’m always needing to story things so that I can bake more…and more…and more

  14. Jen — December 16, 2013 at 7:54 pm (#

Home grown fruits, veggies, and herbs!! Oh and COOKIES!!!!!

  15. shannon — December 17, 2013 at 5:04 am (#

This would be great for sealing meats before freezing.

  16. Jen — December 17, 2013 at 6:45 am (#

Umm, food. Seriously trying to think of one thing and my brain is so not functioning. Keep wondering if while sealing if it smashes the food or if this would work for bread and cupcakes.

  17. Kelly P. — December 17, 2013 at 7:04 am (#

Meats because I purchase in bulk and we butcher some of our roosters. I also freeze a lot of chicken broth.

  18. Lauren M — December 17, 2013 at 7:34 am (#

Our venison… We process our own so it would be great for the loins, back straps, and jerky meat.

  19. Carrie — December 17, 2013 at 8:04 am (#

I’m pretty sure i’d use this for meat or prepared dishes…freezer burn is the worst and I feel like i waste so much b/c of freezer burn!

  20. Ola — December 17, 2013 at 11:15 am (#

I freeze almost any food that coud be preserved for long periods.

  28. Sarah W. — December 18, 2013 at 1:56 pm (#

I’d love to seal veggies from my garden so I could enjoy fresh produce even during the cold, snowy winter!

  29. Birdiebee — December 18, 2013 at 7:34 pm (#

I would use the food saver for so many things. I would freeze corn on the cob, purchase large packages of meats and chicken then reseal them down to the size I want, freeze other vegetables, seal cheese in the refrigerator, seal homemade jerky and so much more. I would love to have one of these.

I’m so excited about your FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer Giveaway, that I can barely type this comment. I have an older, now yellowed, FoodSaver that I have used to store not only meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and other snacks, but sewing items and travel items such as cosmetics and medicines. This technology is so advanced and so useful for our time. My husband used to ask me to vacuum-seal dental materials and to double seal sterilized instruments and other items that he took when traveling by airplane or train when going to teach dental clinics, or to perform dental treatment people who could not afford to go to the dentist in a foreign setting or another city. I lost him to a stroke seven years ago, and know that he would have loved for me to have this new FoodSaver vacuum sealer. I have sealed watercolor tubes and acrylic paints and paintbrushes and other craft items so that they would not leak or spill out into other items. The uses for the FoodSaver are endless, and this is my Dream Machine for my kitchen. I bake and would enjoy sealing my cookies and sending them by mail to friends, relatives, and pen pals serving in the military in different areas of the country. Thank you for offering this giveaway to us. I hope I win!

I would love a foodsaver. Now living on a fixed income makes it more important to not waste anything.

So bummed I missed out on this giveaway! I’ve been wanting to get one of these bad boys!

  33. Fiona — May 3, 2015 at 7:27 pm (#

I’d love to have one in my kitchen. I often harvest bulk of vegetables and then let them ruined after 5 days more or less.
