I'm so excited for this post. I'm buying my spiralizer next week! I can't wait. And next time I hit up the store, I'm SO getting some dark chocolate cocoa powder! What a great idea. You know those are my FAV!!!

Do you use sweetened or unsweetened coconut? I can only find the blue package of sweetened at the regular grocery store. Do you buy yours from TJ's or Whole Foods? Which brand is it?

  2. Love your raw marinara sauce Averie!
I guess when it comes to dinner it's where I need warm

I'm getting there. Your sauce looks so good..and with the zuk noodles!

We are all over the place when it comes to dinner.
A lot of the time I cook now for later. And I nibble while cooking…tonight it's Kale chips
JJ had leftovers and Hubs did too.

I am really beginning to eat much much simpler these days. Last night it was pasta w a sauce hubs made up and it was HEAVEN (so sweet of him too)

    other nights it's green smoothies.

Your yoga pose today reminds me of a pilates move..Love it..and today I did your down dog with the leg up and hung over…the one you did for Alison! It was so nice!
my yoga poses have really expanded thanks to your blog!
just wanted you to know that!

  3. The marinara looks awesome. I am so amazed by your raw creations, I could almost maybe eat mostly raw? Yes, if you cooked it for me. :)

I know you left me a comment saying you emailed me, but I didn't get it!

  4. so i think i've officially freaked my parents out with all the "blogger" food i've been making/eating. i personally think they're afraid to like it, as opposed to their boring plates of lettuce and chicken. but today i made the coconut snowballs, and called them haystacks, for their liking, and left out the fact that they were a blog discovered recipe. THEY LOVED THEM.

    and so did i.

ps. i need myself a spiralizer.

Mmmmmarinara! Easy, healthy, and delish! Goodness, aren't blenders the best thing ever? they are great for everything!

    Happy Saturday!

  6. I MUST get a spiralizer :D It looks fantastic. Love zucchini!! Great sauce too. Oh man, those snowballs look fabulous too!

    Hi there!

I didn't get a chance to leave comments on your previous post but wanted to tell you that your new furniture is sleek, simple, and so classy. I love the black! And cute little Skylar in her inside-out pants just made me smile :)

Always such good eats on this bloggy! If I'm ever at a loss for what to make my big brood of high-raw vegans, this is always where I come for inspiration :)

That raw pasta looks scrumptious — great idea to add carrots to the sauce! And I love how many good sauce options you listed…lots of variety there. I have a few zukes in the fridge that MUST be used tomorrow or they're headed for the compost pile, so I'll spiralize 'em and make some Averie Sauce.

I made your raw cookie dough balls this week…OMG. Best balls ever.

Thanks for always cranking out such stellar posts, and have a beautiful family day!

  8. dark chocolate makes me smile :)
    so do you :D

i so wish i had a spiralizer.. that raw dish looks to die for!

so exciting about the new yoga studio :) i am loving yoga latly :D !

    have a beautiful weekend!! xo

Everything looks LOVELY, as always! Really, someone better hand you a crown and scepter ASAP because you are totally the queen of raw desserts! Might there be a cookbook in your future?

I love a good raw pasta dish, that is definitely one of my favorite quick dinners. Chunky for the win!

Other quick dinners I like are hummus with veggies, or any dip and veggies. I like really snacky meals, lots of little bites to choose from. Makes me feel like I'm at a party when I'm in my living room, plopped in front of the tv in my pajamas!

  10. Lovelovelove that marinara sauce! So easy! A spiralizer is on my very long list of kitchen appliances to get. I don't have a food processor yet, so that's still #1 (c'moooon Christmas! :P )

I am obsessed with pita sandwiches, so that's always my go-to easy dinner. Whatever fresh veggies I have on hand gets thrown in one, with whatever protein source I can find, usually slathered with some hummus, and gobbled up with a side of carrot sticks :) Yummm.

Oh, and those cookie dough balls look seriously amazing. I have a bag of raw cashews in my cupboard that would be perfect for those!

Raw Marinara!! so yummy ! I wish it was warmer here so I could enjoy raw meals more ! boo.

i found the cookie dough pic from my cam of the AMAZING package you sent to me….did you want me to post them??

  12. I have a question…if you lived somewhere really cold, would that affect your meals? I am not raw, but almost ALL the food I eat is eaten cold and now that it's winter (and I have no heating in my apartment) am rethinking things!

Go-to dinners…yogurt/oatmeal/fruit/nut butter messes. I think I have had those almost every night since I got back. Failing that, wraps/sandwiches are good, stir-fry with straight-to-wok udon noodles or ready-to-cook tortellini.

  13. hope you liked the new yoga studio!!
I wish i had a spiralizer so I could make those yummy veggie noodles.

  14. Zucchini noodles are my faaaavorite :)

  15. I LOVE that marinara sauce recipe! I think i need to ask for a spiralizer for my bday next week!

  16. Gosh, all of that food looks amazing…my mouth was watering whilst looking at the photos!

    Have a lovely weekend,

  17. The marinara sauce looks wonderful. I love noodles and meatballs (homemade meatballs) with a great sauce.

  18. Ooo I love the feeling of discovering a new yoga studio. They would be lucky to have you as a teacher. OM

Thank you for the beautiful words you left on my blog <3

I remember you blogging a few weeks ago that you comment on 50+ blogs, so I totally understand.

  19. Everything looks delicious as always! :)
    Have a great weekend!

  20. I love raw pasta sauce. I craved it in the summer even when I was off the raw diet.

Hope you have a great weekend now that your errands are done :)

  21. I have really been enjoying spaghetti squash lately for dinner–or anytime:)

  22. that marinara is bellisimo!

my go-to dinner when i'm short on time is a good old fashion wrap with an Amy's veggie burger, pepperjack cheese, and all the fix'ins :) pales in comparison to you 'getti but hey – I try.

  23. Ahhhhh that is SO easy and looks SO good :) Definitely gonna make that because I have an entire bag of carrots and need to do something different with them besides eating them raw.

I want a spiralizer so bad! I'm sensing a good xmas present :) woo hoo thanks again for the great recipe!

  24. I just came across your blog and the second I saw those raw vegan chocolate chip cookie dough balls I scrolled straight to the rss feed and added you to my reader! Those look delicious and I'm going to have to make those. I don't have a nice little mixer like that so I'm going to have to improvise when I try them out.

    Amazing blog :)

  25. Just thought I should let you know that I added a Spiralizer to my Christmas list thanks to all your delicious recipes!

  26. Leah @ Simply Fabulous Reply

Hi Averie! I found you through and just wanted to say hello! This is my first time to your blog and I love it so far. I love your passion for healthy living and yoga! It's inspiring! Anyways, thanks for the follow on twitter! Hope to keep in touch!

  27. My favorite dinner is the same as my favorite breakfast – Lettuce (I really prefer iceberg but try to do romaine because it is better for me (insert eye rolling)) tomato (usually roma but whatever I can get local is perfect) cucumber fresh basil torn up fresh cilantro a white onion sliced and balsalmic vinegar and salt – no oils though! OMG I literally live on this salad!

I really keep tossing and turning on the spiralizer…

  28. This dish is always a staple of mine when I don't have the time nor the patience to make something more complex. Love it :)

  29. This dish is always a staple of mine when I don't have the time nor the patience to make something more complex. Love it :)

  30. I agree simple meals are the way to go! I wish I could go to yoga with you : ) Glad you had some free time to go to the park!

  31. Oh Averie my stomach is growling so much right now…I am waiting for Chris to be ready so we can go out for dinner and I thought I'd check blogs while I waited. Now my mouth is salivating! Your marinara sauces looks muy delicioso and I'm ready to lick the screen of my computer to see if I can get a taste of the chocolate coconut ball thingies. I'm ready to skip dinner and move straight to dessert! :)

    Love ya lady..

  32. FoodFitnessFreshair Reply

I love raw sauce, and yours looks like it turned out great!

For a quick lunch, I'll do a tofu sandwich by layering whole grain bread with mayo/veganaisse, extra firm tofu and sprouts/lettuce…easy and delish.

  33. That sauce looks fantastic Averie! I'll have to make some of that!

I got my RFW order and promptly made the dark chocolate snow balls, yum!

My go-to dinner? That would have to be salad. I just eat it with my family while they're eating there's but I just don't eat the "main course". It's so much easier that way : )

  34. Elizabeth Jarrard Reply

    you're recipes look amazing!!!!

  35. your blog makes me so hungry!!! :)

  36. Dammit I NEED a Spiralizer! I'm going to do something about this ASAP.

I've got Kale in my fridge waiting to be Averie-fied tomorrow or the next day. Just you wait and see my chickie baby!

And now I'm totally psyched about raw marinara sauce.

AWESOME NEWS on the yoga studio! Please report back on how it went.

I've got an email to send you and oh boy it's gonna be a doozy. It's gonna have to wait until the AM though, this girl is beat.

  37. I went to the desert botanical garden today–it was really pretty! And I love spiralized zucchini. That sauce looks delicious! And your dark snowball looks amazing, too. You are the master of raw and vegan goodies! My go-to dinner is a salad topped with a veggie burger. Easy, healthy, and fast!

  38. Hi! I just discovered your blog and I like it so far. I made your "Raw Vegan Dark Chocolate Coconut Snowballs" recipe and it was delicious! And I will probably try your marinara recipe soon. :D
