1. I did yoga tonight and I thought of you! :D

Good luck with the yoga class tomorrow! You're gonna be great. I think a yoga session with you would be amazing. You've got such a great attitude and that's really awesome to find in an instructor.

As for me? I've got a Saturday morning class. I plan on working on my latest sculpture piece and on Sunday I'm hoping to go hiking with a friend of mine. I hope the foliage is still there!!!

Take care my love!

I loved hearing your story about what brought you to became a vegan and eat raw. I never realized the extent of your food alergies, but it certainly doesn't seem to hinder your healthy and delicious lifestlye. What a beautiful way to see it as "raw food choosing you!"

3. Great facts Averie! I can totally relate.. I became meat and dairy free due to insane migraines that left me unable to work, go to school etc. Honestly, I go through phases thinking I have celiac disease and am tempted to eliminate gluten to test it out!

Im so glad you have found what works for your body! You look healthy and happy.

Anywhooo, good luck teaching tomorrow. Hae a super weekend with your hub before he leaves ;)

4. GREAT POST! I loved hearing your take!

5. FoodFitnessFreshair Reply

Great post. A simple diet can really cure a lot of imbalance and health issues. Nothing better than whole food. And wow, nice job on the firefly pose!

6. I'm really glad you posted this on your blog Averie (actually I'm glad you posted this link on Facebook!) because I'd been wanting to read your reasons and I forgot where you'd guest posted. This was really informational and maybe you can put a link to it up on your blog so that newbies can read a bit about you if they've never seen your page before??

You know where I am and what I'm doing right now. It's been fun hanging with my sister in law and her husband…but I am ready to head home. SUNDAY…one more day.

7. I love reading more about your story Averie! And I loved the MULTIPLE yoga poses in this post. :)

8. I loved reading your story! And your raw and vegan meals always look fantastic. You look so hardcore in those yoga poses! Awesome :D

Oh, and I don't know how close you are to a Sunflower Market, but they had a display up with all the Celestial Seasonings holiday teas (sugar cookie sleigh ride + others) the last time I was there :)

9. that is an awesome story! i want to go vegan..someday..i am still on the fence about it though..good luck with yoga! thats awesome! and those sweet potatos look amazing.

10. Averie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You make it so easy and delicious!! I just adore those cookie dough balls (totally was craving them the other day), the broc. salads, the curly fries, squash action. Mmm mmmm mmmm

P.S. I am totally going to my first acupuncture appointment in 2 weeks! My parents have gone for years, and I know what magic Chinese medicine can do……I have just been chicken for a long time!!!

Loved this beautiful post, and your Saturday sounds super fun!!

AND THAT LAMP! sOOOOOOOOOO PRETTY! I love your simple style!!! If only I had such a pretty eye for my room!! Interior decorating is so overwhelming to me!!!

Take care love!!! :) HUGS!

14. The Voracious Vegan Reply

What a great post! I did an hour of yoga yesterday in my private yoga studio (living room) and I was thinking about you the whole time!

I love learning more about you and it is awesome to hear that raw vegan chose YOU. Sometimes it definitely feels that way, doesn't it?

With veganism it wasn't at all a choice I made, I HAD to do it, for the animals, it wasn't even a decision to be made. Just a fact of life.

15. I rememeber reading this on Janetha's blog and loving it then too!! I love how you say your diet chose YOU and not the other way around. I also appreciate that as a raw foodist, you're also still open to cooking things on occasion. I've always been weary of people who take an "all or nothing approach."

Unfortunately, my body does not like the raw lifestyle. I have a number of food intolerances that basically add up to high volumes of raw vegetables and high volumes of fat (even good fat, especially olive oil and avocado). Several tests have come up with nothing, so I just do my best to avoid what my tummy doesn't like. Our bodies are fickle things!

16. This post is encouraging to me because you went through a lot to figure out what your body could and couldn't handle and now you feel great! It gives me hope that it IS possible to reach a better place with my health:)Thanks for sharing!

17. thanks for the FAQ Averie, I've always kind of wondered, but never thought to ask. :)

The whole vegetarian thing, I kind of want to clear up on my blog too, cause I think lately I've let the blog world influence what I post, but I really need to stay true to myself, and ya know what? I'm a chicken and eggs kind of girl. I don't really eat dairy or soy, but I do eat chicken. Haha.

Great post! :)

Hey Averie!

Good luck on your teaching gig! So cool that you found a job so quickly! Hope it is everything you hope for! :)

FYI… from my perspective, blogger doesn't actually ask for an email address if you leave a comment as OpenID, Name/URL, or Anonymous… I assume that if you use Google Account the email address is sent… just thought you'd like to know. Sometimes as the blog writer you don't get to see how your readers have to interact with your blog. ;) For me, I'm always logged in when I review my own blog, so I didn't see the automated links at the bottom of my posts. Someone pointed out to me one link that went to someplace very weird, I ended up changing the title of my post to remove the link. So just a little friendly heads up, that leaving an email address isn't private unless they have a Google account. :)

19. That firefly pose is awesome beyond words :D

Love this post. I was vegan for a while and it didn't work for my body- I researched and studied and experimented, but my body just didn't like it. I cook mostly vegan foods though because I am pretty sure I would give myself food poisoning if I cooked meat or fish :P

This weekend…not much happening. I bust my hip big-time and am supposed to rest it until I have some x-rays and scans done next week (this is the injury from NY- ridic! Maybe my body isn't so happy afterall!)

20. I happened to catch that post already. Great by the way :)

I have my final bday bash tonight in Nashville with lots of my friends. Super excited :).

Hope your weekend is going well!

21. ahhh I thought of you this morning and your yoga class!! I totally hope you had a great time :) andddd it leads to a job!! wooo hoo :)

can't wait to hear ALL about it girl :)

22. by the way, when people ask me "how do i get my protein?" it takes ALL self control to not lash out and tell them about how americans are programmed to think that meat is the only source of protein and we need WAY more than we actually do…i digress. spinach!! i go through a pound a day it seems

23. Great post Averie! It's nice to let people know where you are coming from. It helps avoid all of those jump to conclusions, judgmental comments : )

I always enjoy those yoga poses: ) I wonder if I'll ever attain such a level of yoga prowess. I think my arms need to be longer for that : )

Have a fun weekend with Skylar! I'm eating a big ol' bag of kale chips as I write :o)

24. Av, I loved this post! you are so insightful and knowledgeable — If I ever decide to become a raw foodie I am coming to you, and by coming to you – I mean, moving in with you :)

saying lots of prayers and sending positive thoughts for you during your class tomorrow. I know you'll knock 'em dead!

Love you, peaches!

25. all those recipes look amazing!!!! esp the apple crumble!! and your body is amazing and so motivating! Please check and out my fashion and lifestyle blog follow mine as I will yours! xo

26. Deb (Smoothie Girl Eats Too) Reply

Loved the post on Janetha's blog and glad you re-ran it!

Hope yoga teaching went well!

27. I made your dressing for the raw broccoli! I mixed smart balance (fake mayo), agave, and ACV and mixed it with broc, carrots, and snap peas….so good!! Thank you!!

28. Those raw treats all look so delish! I have just started practicing yoga you are amazing at it! x

29. Hello, sorry I have not been here to comment. Wow, two crazy weeks and two more on the way! Just wanted to let you know that your not alone in the solo act this week. Dan left this morning and will not be home till Wednesday and then has to turn around and leave Friday not back till Monday! YIKES! But Blaine and I will have fun just have to be a my "A" game.

So how is the teaching? I am so excited for you. I know it must be loney starting over in a new town but at the same time soo exciting to be on a new adventure. Some days are so the same and long here but this is my home and for many reasons I love where I live…most days. Shopping sometimes :-( I can find most things but so pricey. Like you said that your almond meal cost you 4.99. For me 11.65! So even though Dan and I have totally clean up our diet. The pocket book has not gotten any help. Oh,well..its worth it.

So this weekend Blaine and I just played with Daddy sat. morning B'day party in afternoon and just messed around the house. Sunday we've got big plans. A fund raiser 5k in the morning. Then picnic for lunch. Then over to Becky's for dinner – Remember her?!? We still talk all the time. She's the same but married to a great guy! –

But best of all is right now. Blaine feel asleep at 7:45! Wow! and no daddy…some nice quite blog time for little mama!

I can't think of what else just remember even when I don't write I read everyday and now every time time I cook I think of you! Cause most days I am useing one of your recipes! Love you! Now to work on getting my name in to the contest.

I would love to win because 25.00 of earth loving stuff is a no brainer!

30. Please share the sweet potato curly fries with me :) They look more than yummy. Great post- always love your yoga pics!

Thanks for the tip on the cashew cream- I made some last week for my asparagus soup and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it can take the place of my fluffy cool whip the way truwhip does :(

31. Allie (Protein Girl) Reply

I just purchased a veggie spiralizer and actually squealed when it came in the mail! I ran to the cupboard and fridge – "what the heck can I spiralize!" Soooooooooooo much fun.

32. Great post Averie. It is really interesting to hear more about each other's personal journey's to Raw & Vegan right? I loved hearing this. Thanks for sharing :)

This is a great post!!! I have the same story ;) Too many food intolerance's and once I cut it all out I was a totally different vibrant person! I love reading stories like this, thank you!

Have a great Sunday!

34. K from ksgoodeats Reply

I learned that Mr. Sexy Hot (aka Jay Robb) is your 2nd favorite protein powder behind Sun Warrior.

35. I learned that you are a yoga goddess!

36. helloo! youre "story" is very genuine i must say. you're a lot like me..i didn't CHOOSE to be a raw foodie ..i just am. Its easier and more satisfying knowing exactly what the stuff i eat consists of. Your yoga skills are awsome! :)
looking forward to reading you blog

37. I learned about your food allergies, specifically that you have analphalatic reactions to shellfish

38. Nutritious is Delicious Reply

There is most definitely plans in the works to try that apply goodness! Looks great! :D

39. I learned that your body can not handle gluten, dairy, or soy, but once you eliminated those foods from your diet, your health and wellness improved dramatically! So glad too!

40. What? Splet has gluten? Ans so does barley?

Haha I feel stupid, I always thought that 'exotic grains' were all gluten free. xD

41. Laura: Learning to Love Reply

I didn't know that someone's body could have trouble digesting eggs!

42. Favorite protein powder is Sun Warrior!

43. I learned the Astavakrasana Variation pose. Wish I could do it!

44. I learned that you eat raw because it's good for your digestive health. I have digestive health issues too. I have been seriously considering eating raw for this reason and all the other health benefits too!

Read about MY issues…

45. Good Afternoon!!! is one of the most excellent innovative websites of its kind. I take advantage of reading it every day. Keep it that way.

46. I can't remember whether I posted a comment on Janetha's blog when you did this guest post, but even if I did I want to write again – I LOVE you Averie!! I love your lifestyle approach, your confidence, the way you raise your family, the fact that you state your mind…you are such an inspiration. I so wish you had yoga DVD's so that I could follow you at home. Even better, I wish I lived closer to GO to your classes! I keep saying I'm going to get back into yoga but I haven't found the motivation here…

47. Your blog is so insightful and I learn a lot from you.
Even though I've never been tested I believe that I might be gluten intolerant.
I'm trying to avoid gluten, dairy and soy. I do eat fish and eggs though because it seems that whenever I restrict myself I start bingeing. Why is that? I wonder what is my body craving/ lacking?

48. I love your website and all your fantastic recipies! What I can't figure out is, who eats all the stuff you prepare? You make so many yummy meals and treats, you can't possibly be eating all of it! Can I sign up to recieve some leftovers? ;-)

49. I stand in want to ask you how crave a period
do surf internet a day?
And what are you doing?
Working, chating, searching uncharted information?
And what your favorite site?
