Babycakes Treats Team

I felt like I was running a cupcakery this morning. Cupcakes + bakery = Cupcakery

I was playing around with this little toy. A Babycakes Cupcake Maker.

I was asked by Babycakes and Select Brands to be part of their Treats Team and anytime I can “work” by making cupcakes and treats, that’s “work” I like to have.

And making cupcakes is what I’ve been doing. Let’s just say I’ve made more than a dozen.

I came up with this batter. It involves peanut butter and it’s crazy good. Recipes to follow one of these days or weeks.

And the frosting involves lots of this.

Squares of chocolate

There was more butter, sugar, and chocolate smeared everywhere in my kitchen today than I’d like to admit, but I’m taking my Treats Team position seriously.

It was all in the name of recipe research and development. Ahem.

I worked so hard that it’s time for a strawberry cookie break. Salads are over-rated anyway.

Strawberry Cake Mix Cookies with Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting

What’s your favorite cupcake flavor? Frosting flavor? Cupcake combination?

Anything involving peanut butter and chocolate is good in my book, but I want to make gingerbread, pumpkin, strawberry, and red velvet cupcakes.

Even if certain flavors may not be “seasonal” or timely right now, I happen to have a craving for pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting that I apparently didn’t get out of the way last November.  At least these are seasonal.

  1. What a fun gig! I don’t know that I can pick a favorite cupcake flavor – there are just too many I love :) Cream cheese frosting is always a hit so anything I can combine with that is good in my book!

    1. You know I love cream cheese frosting, too, but I find that most people say they prefer buttercream. I like them both, well, I love them both!

  2. How fun! And peanut butter cupcakes do sound crazy good – I think that would be my favorite flavor! :-)

  3. Whatever type of cupcake it is, the one with the most frosting is automatically my fave. Unless it involves coconut…not into that:)

  4. I think if I had to choose a favorite cupcake it would be either chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting (x-tra sweet) or vanilla cupcakes with super fudgy, chocolate frosting. OH YUM! I can’t wait to see the recipe you are creating!! :-)

    1. with vanilla frosting (x-tra sweet) <--- duh. AS IF there is any other way :)

  5. I’m kind of a nutjob when it comes to cupcakes and cakes in general. I can really take them or leave them and rarely, if ever, do I bake them. But my sister had lemon poppyseed cake at her wedding with lemon frosting. Best cake EVER. I also love carrot cake. That’s the only kind of cake I’d eat without frosting (which is the only reason to eat any other cake, if you ask me.)

    1. the singular kind of cake/muffin I don’t like is poppyseed. Not my thing. But carrot cake, omg love it. You are psychic again..I had a coupon for a box of Free Duncan Hines cake…and about 2 hrs at the groc store I picked up a box of their amped up and more ‘deluxe’ carrot cake mix.

  6. I’ll take anything with homemade cream cheese frosting! Speaking of which, those strawberry cookies look to die for :)
