Baking Supplies Giveaway – For Two Winners

I recently received these bakery emulsions from LorAnn Oils.

You may be wondering what is a bakery emulsion?

  Emulsions are water-based, alternatives to extracts.  The flavor is micro encapsulated in natural stabilizers and suspended in water.  This encapsulation enables the flavor to not lose its integrity when exposed to high heat, which means you can use baking emulsions instead of extracts with better results.

LorAnn has an amazingly diverse lineup of emulsions from Red Velvet to Rum Bakery to Coffee.

I plan to use the Red Velvet Emulsion in Fudgy Nutella Brownies and make Red Velvet Nutella Brownies.
When it comes to flavoring, professional bakers almost exclusively use emulsions over alcohol-based extracts because:

Won’t “bake-out” when exposed to heat
Water-based (No alcohol taste)

  5. I probably use my bamboo cutting board and a beautiful knife, handmade by a friend from recycled materials, the most. Whether I’m chopping up veggies and tofu for a stir fry or slicing an apple for snack, these materials make the job easy, quick and enjoyable!

  6. I love my food processor – It’s so multi-use! I also am guilty (not a bad thing) of using my garlic press on a near daily basis.. I LOVE garlic!

    They have a nonskid base which makes them so much easier to use than just regular stainless steel bowls…

  9. LorAnn Baking emulsions do intrigue me the most. Especially these flavors: coffee, coconut, and rum. I would love to use these in my cookies & cakes! Although I’m a newbie baker I’m totally into it and love it!

    Also interesting are the natural flavors (I love everything natural!): banana, toffee, creamy caramel, almond, and strawberry!
