Did you know that:

Soyfoods are rich in nutrients and promote healthy eating.

Soyfoods are also a great source of iron, fiber, vitamin B-12, magnesium and zinc.

Fruit soy smoothies with soymilk or soy yogurt are a fun way to ensure proper calcium, and soy burgers or soy crumbles in place of ground beef are a great way to reduce calories, cholesterol and saturated fast.

Soy meat substitutes, such as soy ground, cook up in a fraction of the time it takes for traditional meats, and it’s ideal for pre-made meals that can be stored in the freezer or refrigerator.

Cooking with soy also provides an excellent opportunity for families to spend quality time together because unlike traditional meats, there is little concern about cooking through or cross contamination, so kids can be more involved in the meal preparation.

Soyfoods make delicious meals. They are great as a staple ingredient or used as a substitute in a favorite recipe.

Here are some of my favorite recipes using soy:

Peanut Sauce Baked Tofu

Pumpkin Honey Tofu. This turns out like spongy pumpkin “bread”. Very soft, chewy, and pliable infused with pumpkin flavor.

Apple Glazed Vegetable & Edamame Stir Fry

Mango Ginger Maple Tofu

Spinach & Artichoke Dip (Fat Free, Vegan) Use soy-based cream cheese

Fig Butter & Cumin Tempeh Stir Fry – This was a 4 minute meal. Tempeh is so versatile and no pressing (or cooking if you’re really in a hurry) is required.

Salsa Verde Pepperjack Tofu (Microwave & Vegan) Use soy-based cheese along with the tofu

Avocado, Cream Cheese, and Salsa-Stuffed Puff Pastries Use soy-based cream cheese

  4. my favorite way to enjoy soy is tofu straight up. there’s a place in oklahoma city (Thanh’s Tofu)that makes their own tofu and it is by far the best i’ve ever had – so fresh! they’ll also fry it for you and then you can eat it on the way home. mmmm.

  8. I love a little soy milk on my cereal or oatmeal! The other day I made a mexican stir fry with soy crumbles, peppers, red onions, cilantro, black bean salsa and a drizzle of enchilada sauce! So yummy.

  9. I love making tofu croutons for salads!

  10. I eat tofu a few times a week and if I’m out I’ll get soy milk instead of cow’s milk in coffee

  11. I toss edamame into stir frys all the time, love making tofu nugs (baked and dipped in ketchup like a chicken nugget), and also love tofurkey on salads, in wraps, or as a faux turkey sandwich! :)

  12. I was hugely into soy milk until I discovered almond milk. My favorite way to enjoy soy is edamame. :)

  14. I’ve made a chocolate silk pie using silken tofu before and it came out so good! That’s probably been my favorite thing I’ve ever made with soy.

  21. I’ve loved soymilk ever since I was a little girl! Drink it pretty regularly :) Unsweetened + cereal, or a little in my tea is my routine hahah =]

  22. I love making extra beany soy milk in the Vita. It happened once because I had about 2 cups left and didn’t feel like eating them, so I just tossed em all in the blender with water and stevia. The milk has a strong taste, and is green which is cool! I’ll be making some to celebrate this weekend.

  28. This is a FABULOUS giveaway. Kaylin is lactose intolerant. Although there is a chance she could outgrow it, I’d like to sample some non dairy products now so I have some ideas for items I can buy as she gets older. I get soy cafe au laits and love them! ;)

  33. I like putting tofu or edamame in stir fry! I make sauce with teriyaki, ground ginger, tahini, soy sauce, PB, and freshly squeezed OJ.

  34. The bf makes the BEST homemade SPICY chili –we actually prefer it over any meat-based version — with soy “meat” crumbles. We make a big batch of it, chock full of veggies like tomatoes and red bell peppers and fiber/protein rich beans, every winter and freeze portions to eat throughout the cold months. YUM!
