Easy Pizza Bake

If there’s ever a meal that everyone in the family can agree upon, it’s pizza. Warm, cheesy, gooey, and so good.

Rather than just another average pizza night, I jazzed things up with this fast, easy, one-bowl pizza bake.

Easy Pizza Bake - Skip takeout and make your own warm and cheesy deep dish pizza bake! Fast, easy, and ready in 30 minutes! It's a keeper everyone loves!!

I love how fast and easy it is, that it’s ready and on the table in 30 minutes, and so family-friendly.

My family went to town on it and I even heard, “This is one of the best things you’ve ever made.” Funny that it’s usually the super easy shortcut recipes that gets the highest praise and not the ones I slave over. What we didn’t eat that night was perfect for lunches the next day.

MY OTHER RECIPES

To make the stir-together dough I used Original Bisquick™ Mix. It takes about 1 minute to stir it together and it’s such a great shortcut rather than making your own pizza dough.

The dough is placed in a baking pan and topped with layers of pizza sauce, pepperoni, and cheese.

Easy Pizza Bake

If there’s ever a meal that everyone in the family can agree upon, it’s pizza. Rather than just another average pizza night, jazz things up with this fast, easy, one-bowl, goofproof pizza bake. It’s fast, easy, ready and on the table in 30 minutes, and so family-friendly. My family went to town on it and what we didn’t eat that night was perfect for lunches the next day. Recipe doubles easily and can be baked in a 9×13-inch pan.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ Mix
1/2 cup milk (almond, cashew, soy, regular)
about 8 ounces (1 cup) pizza sauce
4 ounces sliced pepperoni
4 ounces (about 1 cup) finely shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil, spray with cooking spray; set aside.
  2. To a medium bowl, add the Bisquick mix, milk, and stir until soft dough forms.
  3. Drop half of the dough by spoonfuls or your fingers in bottom of baking dish. Dough will not completely cover bottom of pan.
  4. Drizzle about 1/2 cup pizza sauce over dough.
  5. Arrange half the pepperoni slices evenly over sauce.
  6. Top with 1/2 cup cheese.
  7. Repeat layers with the remaining dough, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and cheese.
  8. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes or until  lightly golden brown, biscuits are cooked in center and cheese is bubbly in center. Server immediately. Pizza bake is best warm and fresh, but leftovers will keep airtight in the fridge for up to 4 days; reheat gently before serving.

  2. Such a great idea to use Bisquick! This looks incredible. No wonder you got all the compliments!
I’m with you. It’s so ironic how the easiest, simplest recipes get the most praise. Though my least favorite thing is how my kids are happiest when I give them fish sticks. I’m hoping that someday they appreciate food that isn’t processed a million times over…

  3. The words “easy dinner” are music to my ears on a weeknight! Between work and trying to fit in a workout, the last thing I want to do is cook for a few hours after a busy day. Thank you for this one, Averie!

  4. I have always been a deep dish/thick crust pizza lover so this is screaming my name! One of my favorite locally made pizzas has a crust that is more like a biscuit than yeast dough. This looks like something to surprise Jon with this weekend!

  5. What?! Pizza stuff? Easy? Okay. SOLD;)

  6. Easy pizza recipes for the win! Your recipe is amazing. I adore pizza and prefer it easy. That’s why I also have an easy Pizza based on a flatbread on my blog.

  7. I have a weakness for pizza…and to know I can make a pizza this easy might just be dangerous information!! I don’t think we would have any leftover for lunches…I’d probably have to double it to have that…we have no willpower when it comes to pizza..can’t wait to try.

  8. Oh yes please! This looks super good and super easy. I am all about easy meals right now. Finding one that would be a crowd please is like gold.

  9. I love easy and quick dinner ideas. I occasionally make homemade pizza, but it’s kind of a pain in the butt–not hard, but time-consuming (and I think I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t like a pizza stone … ). Your pictures make me want this for lunch right now!

  10. Love super easy recipes! While cooking is my passion, sometimes you just need a “break” and this pizza recipe is perfect! Thanks, Averie! Pinning…

  11. I am the only one in my family that isn’t into pizza….of course. Gluten and dairy are pretty key to pizza (and yeah, I know there are substitutes for both, but they are NOT pizza, I don’t care what people will try to say.

  12. WOW! This is totally simple and looks like a crowd pleaser, thanks for this awesome shortcut! Pinned!

  13. I can’t believe how easy this pizza bake is. It’s so perfect for a lazy dinner night. I love it, Averie!

  14. This is the best recipe! I love easy ones like this. And pizza, obvi. Pinned!

(And Jordan told me her birthday cake was the best ever…it was from a box, lol.)

  15. Well, girl you know I’m gonna get all in that.

  16. I looove pizza, and especially homemade. And I love the ‘easy-bake’ part :)

  17. This looks beyond delicious. And easy recipes are my fav! I will have to try this for my family’s friday pizza night.

  18. Looks better than dominoes or little caesars or pizza hut or all of them combined! It’s a deep dish of love, that’s what it is ;) xoxo

  19. This looks so good! I have always used bisquick as an easy pizza crust! I like how this is deep dish though. Sometimes we just use bread and make mini pizzas when we are especially lazy :)

  20. When I was a kid, Hamburger Helper made a pizza bake that I loooooooved. This made me think of that…I’ll have to make this and see if it’s similar (I’m sure that it’s better)!

  21. I needed something quick and easy for dinner tonight and this was it! Very tasty. The biscuit portion baked up fluffier than I thought it would–yum. I think this would be a great recipe for my kids to make.

    • Thanks for trying the recipe and I’m glad it came in handy for you and yes, the biscuit portion really PUFFS! I made another recipe coming up with Bisquick and holy puffage :) Glad that this was an easy dinner for you!

  22. Hi. Would I be able to substitute sausage for the pepperoni? Any suggestions?  Thank you so much.

  23. I want to make this but i am confused in coloum YIELD section only one 8×8 pan pizza is mentioned but in instructions it is mentioned to use half dough,so will it make TWO 8×8 pan pizza or ONE?
    Thanks.

  24. Jon’s eyes lit up when I asked him if he wanted me to make pizza tonight. I customized it–pepperoni for him and Beyond Meat crumbles for me.  He liked the vegetarian half–I might be nice and let him finish it tomorrow. This was much easier than a traditional pizza and every bit as good!

    • Love that you worked in the Beyond Meat crumbles and sounds like he kind o preferred that half to the real pepperoni half! Love stories like that :) And so glad this was easier than a traditional pizza and every bit as good for you!

  25. Do you have any nutritional information for this recipe? Can’t wait for my kiddos to try this. Been looking for a twist on our usual Friday night home-made pizza so this will be perfect to switch it up a bit! :)
