Top 10 Home Bowl Party Dos and Don’ts

If you’re throwing a game day party this year or you’re attending one, here’s a list of what you want to do and not do.

DO arrive on time. Being fashionably late could cause you to miss the game and no one wants to fill you in on what happened in the first quarter.

DON’T show up empty-handed. It’s likely the host or hostess has everything covered in terms of food and drinks, but bringing Share a Coke® bottles and a Football OREO Refrigerator Cake or Football OREO Cookie Pops in Coca-Cola® bottles would be fun and clever.

MY OTHER RECIPES

Of course a bottle of your favorite adult beverage to share with everyone wouldn’t hurt.

DO pick a team to cheer for. Even if you’re not the biggest sports fan, pick one. It’ll make the day more fun.

DON’T touch the remote. It’s not your house, not your TV, not your call, hands off the remote. Plus, the commercials during big games can be pretty entertaining.

DO your research and homework. If you’re not the biggest sports whiz but want to stay involved, brush up on your football basics. A bit of knowledge goes a long way.

DON’T be the commentator and talk over the game. Let the professional announcers call the game. And you, my armchair quarterback, don’t interfere with others from hearing what’s going on.

DO be a good sport. I’ve witnessed many grown men throw tantrums and swear up a storm when their team loses and it’s highly unbecoming. Stay cool. It’s a game. Life goes on. Have fun at your game day celebrations!
