  1. I’d love to have one in my kitchen. I often harvest bulk of vegetables and then let them ruined after 5 days more or less.

  2. So bummed I missed out on this giveaway! I’ve been wanting to get one of these bad boys!

  3. I would love a foodsaver. Now living on a fixed income makes it more important to not waste anything.

  4. I’m so excited about your FoodSaver 4800 Series Vacuum Sealer Giveaway, that I can barely type this comment. I have an older, now yellowed, FoodSaver that I have used to store not only meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and other snacks, but sewing items and travel items such as cosmetics and medicines. This technology is so advanced and so useful for our time. My husband used to ask me to vacuum-seal dental materials and to double seal sterilized instruments and other items that he took when traveling by airplane or train when going to teach dental clinics, or to perform dental treatment people who could not afford to go to the dentist in a foreign setting or another city. I lost him to a stroke seven years ago, and know that he would have loved for me to have this new FoodSaver vacuum sealer. I have sealed watercolor tubes and acrylic paints and paintbrushes and other craft items so that they would not leak or spill out into other items. The uses for the FoodSaver are endless, and this is my Dream Machine for my kitchen. I bake and would enjoy sealing my cookies and sending them by mail to friends, relatives, and pen pals serving in the military in different areas of the country. Thank you for offering this giveaway to us. I hope I win!

  5. I would use the food saver for so many things. I would freeze corn on the cob, purchase large packages of meats and chicken then reseal them down to the size I want, freeze other vegetables, seal cheese in the refrigerator, seal homemade jerky and so much more. I would love to have one of these.

  6. I’d love to seal veggies from my garden so I could enjoy fresh produce even during the cold, snowy winter!

  7. I want a bigger veggie garden and would love to seal my peppers so they’d last longer in the freezer!!

  8. I would love to use this to marinate tofu and veggies. Also, this seems like a dream to store leftovers.

  9. I’m pretty sure i’d use this for meat or prepared dishes…freezer burn is the worst and I feel like i waste so much b/c of freezer burn!

  10. Our venison… We process our own so it would be great for the loins, back straps, and jerky meat.

  11. Meats because I purchase in bulk and we butcher some of our roosters. I also freeze a lot of chicken broth.

  12. Umm, food. Seriously trying to think of one thing and my brain is so not functioning. Keep wondering if while sealing if it smashes the food or if this would work for bread and cupcakes.

  13. Sounds wonderful! I’m always needing to story things so that I can bake more…and more…and more

  14. I love making crockpot recipes and portioning them out to freeze. My family can cherry-pick from our freezer at any time, which gives me more time to bake!

  15. For starters? I buy meat from a local butcher and I would like to be able to seal and freeze it – especially when he has a great sale.

  16. Meat! I would use the FoodSaver to preserve meat. We waste so much $$$ in meat that we don’t use before it goes bad.

  17. There are so many things that I want to preserve! I’d say meat & fish are probably what I lose the most to freezer-burn.

  18. I would use it to split up larger packages of meat because I can’t ever use the cheap packs quickly enough.

  19. I have to try those funfetti cookies!! Maybe with green and red sprinkles for Christmas dessert!

  20. oh goodness i would seal everything!!! all of my freezer products are nasty with freezer burn. this would be so helpful! crossing my fingers!

  21. I would love to seal slow cooker chili and other meals I cook on the weekends – for quick and easy weekday meals – after work!

  22. I feel like my meat never stays fresh in the freezer so I would love to seal some steaks, hamburger and pork chops.

  23. I have owned a foodsaver in the past but after my step-daughter “borrowed” it, I never saw it again! I mostly used mine for meats that I bought in bulk and separated into individual servings. I also used mine for soups, veggies and nuts.

  24. Cheese is a one major food item I want to preserve. The weather here is so hot and cheese seems to turn bad really quickly! Doughs and crumble would be good too.

  25. I would replace my Foodsaver of 13 years and continue to use it for prepackaged meals and bulk foods!

  26. I’d like to buy ground beef in bulk at Sams and package it in 1- and 2-pounds packages. Thank you!

  27. We usually buy a months worth of groceries for our meals for the month. I would really enjoy having this to seal the meats and dinners that I want to freeze. It would be nice not to worry about freezer burn

  28. The really great thing about a food system is the ability to freeze meat with no freezer burn! But I am looking forward to freezing dehydrated fruits and veggies, fresh fruit from our trees and bushes…and cookies! Definitely cookies! :) Thank you for the chance to win! ~Jean

  29. …Everything! I would certainly use it for meats bought in bulk, but also for sauces and soups/stews. Being

  33. I would love to seal and preserve all my leftovers. This would be especially handy after Thanksgiving or Christmas.

  34. My husband wants and needs this! Chex mix. Meat when we find a good sale. Homemade soups etc. Thanks for a chance to win.

  36. 13 bean Chili, steaks, porck chops, chicken with marinades, fish, berries~ pretty much everything we can freeze! Foodsavers are awesome and we could really use a new one as we are still using a first generation FS! Thanks for the chance Averie :)

  37. Baked items to send through the mail and know it would arrive fresher and of course, meats which I buy family size and divide into portions for our family of three.

  38. We buy at of our proteins in bulk. Steaks, chicken breasts and thighs and salmon steaks. This would be an ideal way to package them for freezing. Thanks.

  39. I have wanted a food saver forever! My parents have one and use it all the time. I would seal baked goods, meats, snacks for my kids. I actually seal snacks for my kids when we leave my parents house-keeps them contained and fresh-no stale crackers (or crumbs in my bag)!

  40. I like to prep meals ahead of time. For example, I will buy a huge pork shoulder and slow cook it and shred it. 50. What a nice presentation it would be to seal the cookies on the plate that I give to my neighbors each year.

  51. I would use this for repackaging meats when I buy them….and how great it would be for baking things ahead of time for events in the family. Thanks for the chance to win this.

  53. Definitely cookies! I do not bake very much because it is just my husband, our 2 year old and I, and if I bake it, it will get eaten, which we do not need. It would be great to be able to freeze what we do not need to eat for a later date.

  54. Pretty much everything, but especially produce. My local farmer’s market has great deals, if you are willing to buy huge quantities.

  55. I would use it to seal meat for the freezer. I’d also seal baked goods and leftovers. I love to cook but I live alone so it would be wonderful to be able to save food and enjoy it later or share with friends,

  56. This is such an awesome giveaway! I would definitely be using this lots and lots for fruit, veggies, and jams… (once I can successfully make those) hehe :) Wonderful post, as usual Averie <3

  60. I want to waste less fresh food so I want to save cheese chunks, portioned fresh veggies and divided up family packs of fresh proteins like pork chops and chicken breasts.

  65. I would seal/preserve leftovers, fresh fruit, purees, meat, poultry, etc. I’m thinking I would be using this machine a lot!!

  66. I buy meat from the butcher in bulk, and I’d love to have this machine so that I can package smaller portions of it. Beats ziploc bags and saran wrap!!

  67. Meat and fruits/veggies would be the main things I would use it for besides meals for my husband to take along with him when he travels for work.

  68. I’ve had my current foodsaver for over 12 years. I think I’m due for a new one. Love the vacuum containers to keep my brown sugar soft.

  69. I could see using this when I purchase meats, chicken and fish in bulk and being able to pull out small quantities.

    1. I always make double batches of quick breads and they never fit in standard freezer bags. I would definitely be using this to eliminate that problem. Plus I’ve always wanted one of these but never could justify splurging on one.

  70. I like making my own homemade convenience baking mixes (like cake, biscuit, corn muffin, waffle, etc) because I cook/bake gluten free and the commercial mixes available are horrendously overpriced. A typical GF cake mix runs about 4.50-7.00 and I can make my own for WAY under a dollar! Having this vacuum sealer would mean that I could make a ton of mixes in one day and they would stay fresh for a very long time. This would make my life so much easier!

  71. I’d like to use this machine to seal foods for the freezer; leftovers, pie dough, cookie dough, veggies, chicken, etc. I’d get a lot more use out of my freezer and would better be able to manage my food budget.

    raw meat..thanks

  78. I would love to seal bake goods. I enjoy sending cookies to my daughter who lives on Rota, an island near Guam, but worry that they’ll be stale by the time the package gets there. However, she said the Cream Cheese Chocolate Chip Cookies(your recipe) were still delicious!

  79. I would preserve my bananas, I use the so frequently for smoothies in the summer, but in the winter it is too cold and I try to freeze them

  81. I would love to use a FoodSaver Vacuum Series to freeze meat. i could bigger backs at cheaper prices and split it up. I never thought about how many other uses like cookies and quick breads could be saved when I make more then we will eat at one time. Also, I could freeze soup when I make more then we need.

  82. I would preserve all of my dinners! Being single, it can be hard to cook big batches of food for later and not have them get freezer burn or go bad quickly. This would be a life (and cash) saver!!

  83. I always take advantage of chicken when it’s on sale, and this would be great for freezing it.

  84. I have the hardest time eating leftovers in a timely fashion, so this would be so useful for pretty much everything I make ever! Thanks for the chance to win!

  88. With limited income and my love of cooking, I hate to have things spoil. But with just us two, freezing things to prevent boredom is necessary. Conventional zip locks bags and plastic containers don’t always preserve our meals. Cost prevents us from this purchase. Would help us immensely.

  89. Uhh..everything I ever make. Chili, cookie dough, quick breads, meats…it’s just two of us so it’s hard to NOT freeze items and then watch them go bad.

  90. Steak and fish!! We always buy in bulk so this would be realllllly great to have!

  91. we buy a lot of chicken and i would love to avoid the inevitable freezer burn!

on second thought, i would seal EVERYTHING.
