National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day & What’s Your Holiday

Today is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day.  I am a peanut butter lover, that is for sure!  I have a whole post with Peanut Butter Recipes

Did you do anything to celebrate the holiday?  Julie and Janetha both mentioned the holiday.

I celebrated with a few spoonfuls of DCD that I reviewed here

And I ate my one-a-day Special K barYes, lately it’s been a one-a-day habit.  I like it.

If I had more time, I could have baked up a loaf of Peanut Butter Banana Bread (Vegan & GF)

In other matters, it was a sunny day here and I took advantage of some of the great weather and got a 2 mile run in while pushing a 75 pound kid + jogging stroller combo into the wind and up hills.  Huff and puff much?

And then I came inside, did 20 minutes of  weight lifting moves and yoga moves.  With my 12 pound dumbbells and yoga mat.  Whatever comes to mind, that’s what I do.

I don’t have time or energy for more!  So far, it seems to be working for me and so no reason to change it up.

From my Cookbook Review & Free Cookbooks post from earlier, it was interesting to hear what you look for in a cookbook, and whether or not you make recipes from cookbooks, blogs, or improvise.  Most of you said you look for great pictures in a book (me too and many books lack this I’ve found), ease of preparation of the recipe, and commonly found ingredients.

  2. My workouts are the same way– whatever I feel like doing that day! I should probably think about getting on more of a schedule, but honestly, I fit everything in some way or another, and this makes it much more fun for me!

  3. oh I celebrated yesterday!! Had to get my dark chocolate pB fix! And I’d love to go to the beach again. I need a vacations, lets go!

  4. Heck yes I love peanut butter!! But lately, I’ve been more of an AB girl. I made noodles & veggies with an AB sauce for dinner last night- so good! I did get my workout in yesterday- in the morning- fabulous. This AM I am headed to spin. Trying to keep this fresh & switched up. I hope you have a good day!!

  5. You are such a “workout inspiration” to me. You’ve got it down to a science, do it all at home and at your convenience, and look great, to boot. Geeze, louise! I wish I was that efficient.
    Hah…do I like peanut butter? What a question :P I didn’t even realize yesterday was PB lovers day until I started blog-reading at night, but it turns out I celebrated without even realizing it!

  6. I don’t like PB…sorry, Averie! For some reason it just tastes so…dry in my mouth. I prefer almond butter, or cashew butter. Too bad they are three times more expensive than regular peanut butter!

    1. you can make your own cashew butter easily! raw cashews from TJs, blend. They are such a soft nut that i have made my own cashew butter, accidentally, when i am trying to just give them a light blend…but i blended them to butter :)

  7. Aw man, I can’t believe I missed this fantastic holiday! Fortunately for me, I’m sure no one would mind if I celebrated a day late ;)

    1. I did! I got my a$$ handed to me by the lovely Jackie Warner with her Timesaver Training DVD! Oh, how I love to hate that woman! It’s funny, the only thing that gets me through the session is all the closeups of her abs! Haha!

    2. LOVE peanut butter! Had some tonight on my pancakes for dinner! National PB Lovers Day…check, National Pancake Day…CHECK!

    3. I would love a National Coffee Lovers Day, Kobucha Squash Day, and a Fro-yo/Ice Cream day where any self serve shop would offer free and unlimited toppings!!

  10. I LOVE peanut butter! Except too many nuts upset my stomach sometimes, so I’m starting to slow down on their consumption :( Unfortunately I didn’t get my workout in today, I slept most of it and then had to go to work! I plan on going extra hard tomorrow to make up for my lack of exercise the last few days… I had been pretty sick. By the way, I think it’s awesome you were IN a movie! And a great movie, at that. A Chocolics holiday would be great! That and maybe a Yoga holiday, where free classes are everywhere.

  14. I didn’t hae any PB today but I did have some almond butter. Good enough.

    Correct me if I’m wrong but Special K has gluten in it, right? Or did you just call them Special K and use a GF cereal?
