Juicy & Refreshing

Thanks for the good suggestions from my post yesterday about my juicer dilema. I think I’m going with the Mack Daddy, but am going to mull it over for awhile longer…

Onto the eats.

Here’s last night’s Raw Veggie Love:
*Broc
*B.S.
*Jicama
*Red Peppers
*Carrots
*Juice of half an orange, agave, and crack black

Raw vegetables dressed in a clear container

I’ve also really been enjoying watermelon lately. So juicy and refreshing (thought that’d make a good title today).
Sliced up watermelon in clear containerWoo-hoo let’s pretend I am excited for this morning’s trot. Note the new running shoes. My aches and pains are feeling much better. Shoes, I’m telling you all, don’t go el cheapo and try to make a beat pair last. You’ll pay for it later.

Was just there yesterday, but needed unsweeted & unsulphured dried mango, walnuts for the Raw Vegan Brownies I’ve been pounding down lately, and some greens. As evidence that I have been pounding the chocolate love, Skylar told me she loves drinking my boobie milk because “it tastes just like chocolate mousse.” An honest statement. On both of our parts. Think I’m gonna back off the chocolate? Resounding, Hell No!

Then whipped up a Monster Smoothie. Yes, there are leftovers. Here’s what went into the Vita-Mix:
*1 Banana
*1 Orange
*2 Apples
*10 Raisins
*1 piece of that dried Mango
*10 Baby Carrots
*Handful of greens
*Thick stalk of Broc

Tip of the Day: Don’t be scared of crazy smoothie variations. You cannot really taste the bitterness of a broc stalk, or the greenness of peas, or greens, with all the other sweeter fruits in there. If it was just me partaking, I wouldn’t care if it was a little ummm, green tasting. But this is a great way to get your kids to eat their fruits and veggies, too and also play fridge cleanout. Worst that can happen? You feed your garbage disposal it’s dose of greens for the day.

  1. Hiya ~
With our juicer (the model beneath your efficient number!) I used to just accept it was going to take a few minutes to clean up. It was only a few parts and came apart really easily though… Is this one a little more complicated?

Yummy looking eats. I do try to food combine for the most part, but i also adore juicy fruit in my veggies right now (like the mango salsa in the avocado soup!). I guess so long as we're not bloating or feeling awful right after it might be something we can get away with for now :)

Thanks also for the conditioner rec! I try to keep products to a minimum and use home made all natural products direct from the makers on Etsy. There's Naiad in San Diego and also Spa Therapy Works from Baltimore but oh so many more :)

    Have a good day!

  2. Crystal so sorry about your yoga disaster! You'll have to tell me what pose it was? BTW I just went and read your blogger profile…oh my goodness, honey, mama, I bow down and kiss your feet. Caring for a child is hard work. The hardest work of my life, actually. Caring for one with autism…well, I don't know how you do it. Keep on keeping on, I'm sure you've read every last book, every last website, every everything and there is nothing I can say. We vaxed on AAP schedule til 6 mos, thank god I came out of the postpartum fog and we're done with all that now :) Hang in there mother warrior!

  3. I use that detangler and love it! :)

I attempted your little yoga pose from a previous post with disastrous results. I'm not sure fat girls should aim for something like that. lol. I love yoga, but my flexibility is getting worse as I get older. Sigh.

  4. LOVE green smoothies and juices! Let me know what you think of the Sun Warrior, I've not tried the chocolate yet so I'm anxious to hear your take on it:) Henry's in Santee has organic pears on sale right now. I've not eaten mine yet but I'm hoping for the best:) Now you made me hungry, off to eat some delicious blueberries!

  5. CCK–Thank you for stopping by! I have been reading your blog in sporadically in stealth mode for awhile but now that I am immersing myself in the foodie bloggie world, I am outta stealth and commenting as much as I can. Thanks for visiting and hope you come back! You're on my blogroll and in my googlereader so I can read all about your CCK adventures! Chocolate…I mean, duh. How could I not? :)

Tina–practice makes perfect :) You can just start up again right where you left off. For me, it's soothing and I cannot imagine a day without yoga. OMG I'd be flippin' out…it's huge for stress mgmt for me. Thanks for stopping by and cmon back!

  6. Wow! How did you get into THAT position, god, I wish I stuck with yoga, haha!

I'm new to your blog, but it looks very good, I'll be sure to keep on reading ;)
