I’ve posted previously about CaliforniaAvocadosDirect.com and mentioned that it’s a family farm and how each avocado is inspected, hand-selected, and hand-picked before it’s shipped to consumers.

Here are some of my favorite recipes using avocados:

Avocado, Cream Cheese, and Salsa-Stuffed Puff Pastries (with a vegan option)

What’s not to love about squishy warm avocado, with melted cream cheese, flavored with two kinds of salsa to give the bites just a touch of sweet from the mango salsa and a kick from the green salsa verde.

Vanilla Avocado Banana Ice Cream (Raw, Vegan, GF)

You cannot “taste” the avocado.  Trust me on this one; it’s really rich, creamy, sweet, and very ice cream-like.

People write to me frequently telling me how much they love this healthier recipe for ice cream.  And that their unsuspecting husbands and kids do, too.

Vanilla Avocado Banana Smoothie in a Bowl

Sweet, creamy, pudding-like.  Or thin it out a bit more and drink it with a straw like a smoothie.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Mousse (Raw, Vegan, Gluten Free)

This recipe takes 2 minutes to make and when I bring it to a party, no one ever guesses what the secret ingredient is, and it’s instantly devoured by all.  People tell me they prefer it to traditional chocolate mousse made with boiling cream and sugar.

  1. I like to make guacamole with lime juice, garlic powder, minced dried onion, dried cilantro, salt and pepper, hot sauce. If I use for a dip, I chop tomatoes and grated cheddar cheese also. But, I really like to make guacamole tostados, spread refried beans (optional), guacamole, shredded lettuce, grated cheese, chopped tomatoes.

  2. How do I love them let me count the ways! No seriously have to em everyday!! A friend once complained to me “Avocados are so expensive!” I stick up for Avocados! “Seriously?” I answered…not when they can be my meal! They are so good for me, and delicious…people spend more for junk that has no nutritional value and think nothing of it” Give me my Avocados anyday or which way!
