  4. The very best way I’ve ever found is a simple marinara sauce with a little fennel seed, or the tomato sauce with onion and butter from blog – mmmmmm. On our locally-made fresh pasta by Terracotta Pasta. mmmmm.

  5. I always use canned tomatoes when I make chili, and I find I like it best with both crushed tomatoes and diced, for texture. I’d tell you my recipe, but I never use one for chili! Thanks for the giveaway.

  6. My favorite is making my grandmother’s/mom’s/now my version of pasta sauce. Tons of tomatoes, onion, garlic, mushrooms and italian sausage with fresh herbs. It’s just the best!

  7. Oh, savory! That’s for me! :) What would I use Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes? This is actually same brand I buy for all my cooking with tomatoes, and I would definitelly make a pilaf or my mother’s stuffed peppers (post is hopefully coming this week) :)

  9. I use tomatoes in macaroni, sort of like cheese, but tomatoes and no milk. My mother did this and now I find myself making it. Very tasty, just cook macaroni, drain, add a can of tomatoes, warm through and enjoy!

  13. What an awesome giveaway! My favorite way to eat tomatoes is when it’s diced into wedges and served with a sprinkling of sugar. That’s how my mom made it for us to get us to eat our veggies!

  15. I love tomatoes so much! I’m so sad summer is over solely because I can’t get my fresh, locally grown Jersey tomatoes anymore! But in the summer I love making tomato salads or bruschetta, or also like to oven-roast my own and make soup or add them to pasta dishes.

    Regarding my favorite recipe: I love simple, yet beautiful and delicious dishes. As i spend most of my summer vacation time in the South of France, I love all things ‘tomatoes’. Preferably fresh from the market in salads, or roasted. And with cheese (I’m a big fan of goat cheese).

    My most favourite tomatoes+goat cheese recipe (for the time being) is this one:

    For over-roasted tomatoes, I use the recipe of David Lebovitz:

  21. my favorite way to eat tomatoes is in any kind of soup. i don’t like tomatoes at all, but if they’re in a soup/stew i eat them just fine. :)

  22. My favorite way to eat tomatoes is roasted with grilled red peppers and a little bit of garlic on crunchy whole grain bread!

  23. In the summer, I love eating tomatoes right off the vine. Right now I’m using canned tomatoes to make a bunch of different versions of chili!

  25. I am a huge canned tomato fan. I recently discovered TJ’s has whole peeled san marzano tomatoes in puree. Very exciting! I’ve already made a sauce using them. When not using san m tomatoes, I really love the muir glen products. I feel like their products are far less acidic that other canned tomatoes. Would love to win this! Thank you for hosting!!
