How are you doing today?  Now that the week is playing out and moving right along towards the weekend, we can all let out a sigh of relief that some R & R time is right around the corner!  I’m going to be teaching a yoga class Saturday morning and am beyond excited!  As I had mentioned I was going to be doing, I took a yoga class at the studio today that I am going to be teaching at it and I love the vibe, the energy, the practice space.  It was wonderful!

Then I took Skylar to the Mommy & Me Pottery Painting activity we had planned.  It was too cute watching her paint.  Like a bad Mommy, I forgot my camera but I will post pictures of her plates after they are fired.  They were pretty much a smeary hodge-podge of paint; the paint-your-pottery equivalent of scribbles, but to me, it’s Picasso.  She also kept asking for Blue.  I am a pink girl but she was loving blue.

I’m glad to hear yesterday’s Raw Vegan Chocolate Coconut Snowballs were a hitYeah, num-num in my tum-tum!  Shout out to my lovely friends, Lil Veggie Patch and Raw Juice Girl who both made these.  I hope you enjoyed your balls as much as I do, girls.  TWSS

And of course the Raw Vegan Sugar Snap Pea Salad with Raw Vegan Creamy Tahini Dressing Recipe

And your reports on whether you deem yourself to be creative and telling me about your creative outlets with everything from knitting to jewelry making was really fun to read about, too!

For today’s greenery, I made another salad and flooded it with the Creamy Vegan Tahini Dressing.  Romaine, Carrots, Cukes, Red Peppers, Tomatoes, Sugar Snap Peas, and the Tahini Dressing.  Then I added some spicy sesame-coated almond bits on top.

It’s my Tahini-ized Version of a Cesar Salad

Who needs anchovies and Cesar dressing or croutons and gluten when you’ve got Raw Vegan Creamy Tahini & Sesame-Coated Almonds?  Not I.

Couple Shopping Finds Now..
For all you MAC users, I recently picked up the Magic Mouse.  It’s only been out about 2 weeks and I have to say, I love it.   It took a day or so to get used to, but now I am in mousey heaven.

Hand holding Apple Mouse

Lightweight, responds with a light finger touch, wireless and rather than clicking the Back Button on your browser to back out of webpages, you can finger swipe across the top of the mouse and back out of webpages that way.  Great little gadget if you’re a MAC user.

In light of the fact that I’m going to be teaching some yoga classes, I wanted to spruce up my workout duds a bit.  I found a Lululemon Sports Bra on sale, in pink, in my size.  Score!  That baby had my name written all over it!

Pink LuluLemon Sports Bra

And with my purchase I got a re-usable Lulu bag.  They must’ve known I had just been talking about all the green lifestyle choices I make.  It’s nifty to be thrifty.  Sorry, that just popped into my head and I had to write it.

And after all that shopping, I just had to pop a few 3-Ingredient 5-Minute Dark Chocolate Fudge Balls, too.   Yum.

Second Tip of the Day: My Yoga Mat is the Manduka Black Mat Pro,  all the way.  People have asked me what I use, and in my opinion, that’s the best.  It will last you a decade whereas other mats will shred and erode and wear down but not the Black Manduka.  It’s a quality investment in your practice that will pay off.

What’s your favorite brand of workout apparel?  Are you brand loyal or do you bounce around?  Do you shop based on price, function, cuteness factor, or what?  Gimme the dish!  I am Nike brand loyal to my running shoes.  For my yoga clothes, I love Be Present, Prana, Lulu, and there are some tiny niche lines that sometimes have cute pieces, but that’s very hit and miss.  And regional, at best, distribution on some of those.  For Sports Bras, that is extremely hard and hit or miss for me.  Target ones are too flimsy, some of the high-tech ones are too restrictive, so I am always on the hunt.  What kind of workout apparel do you buy?  Or do you just sport a hanes tshirt and call that your “technical fabric”?  Does it matter even?  What do you think?

  1. Maybe try to find a way to be constructive in your comment to the mom or smoker. Like bring a little bucket with some sand for the smoker to put out his cigs and say nicely, "hey, I noticed there is nowhere safe for you to throw away your butts, how about using this?" If he's a jerk then, hey, at least you tried. And to the mom, maybe offer a nice comment or try talking to her son – like, "wow, I really like your shoes, I bet they're good for hopping!" and then hop with him for a bit. Sometimes distraction can help both mom and child reset. Helping, or trying to, would be a much better way to approach, and would seem much less judgemental – which would, of coarse, put people on the defensive.

  2. I just came across your blog today as I googled peanut butter cup recipes, since I had an incredible craving (Its been about a year since Ive had chocolate!!!) and I love everything about it! I agree with Michelle, you should open a shop, I know I'd be there lining up!
Anyway, I am just curious as to why yeast is added to the peanut butter. I dont usually cook with yeast.. and was wondering if it was nessisary to add it?? I made them tonight with Carob chips and no yeast in the peanut butter and they seemed to turn out okay (just cooling now)! But am I missing out by not adding it???

  3. I lurve the sound of the peanut butter cups. I'm going to try it out tomorrow. Buuut you use a microwave? And you're into raw food?? Girl, get rid of that thing!

  4. The PB cups look delicious! Is nutritional yeast the same as Brewer's Yeast? I live in South Africa and haven't found a product labelled nutritional yeast.

What ratio would you recommend if using the cocoa/agave/coconut oil variation?

    Thanks for the recipe!

  5. I love your blog :) and all the food you have posted! Tonight, my sister and I are trying out vegan peanut butter cups so we'lll see how they turn out.. :)

  6. Oh wow!!! These look AMAZING! I am a major lover of Reese's PB cups..so happy I can make my own that have fewer ingredients now, thanks to you!! Thanks!!!

  7. I haven't tried a lot of nut butters, but I must say that smooth Barney Butter (Almond butter) is very hard to resist.

  8. difficult to say since i've had little experience with nutbutters outside of PB, but my fave would have to be trader joe's unsalted creamy natural PB!

  9. I make my own nut butters 99% of the time so my fave would have to be either my homemade raw almond butter, or my homemade vegan nutella.

  10. Picking a favorite nut butter is like picking a favorite veggie. I just can't do it ;) Nuttzo is a new favorite though it's so expensive! I wish I could find it somewhere for less than $12 a jar. Naturally Nutty is great. WFs organic pb, Maranatha raw AB! TJ's sunflower seed butter. Fresh ground raw cashew butter. Smart Balance crunchy pb. I can't think of a natural/organic nut butter I don't like ;)

  11. my fave nut butter is definitely naturally nutty vanilla almond butter or trader joes raw creamy almond butter

  12. My favorite nut butter so far has been Trader Joe's almond butter with flaxseed! Soooooo good :D

  13. My absolute favorite nut butter of all time is Crazy Richard's (or Krema) creamy peanut butter. That stuff is so good it melts in your mouth.

  14. I think my favorite nut butter would have to be Peanut Butter & Co's White Chocolate Wonderful! Reminds me of Reese's cups too!

  15. I like Maranatha's Organic Raw Almond Butter! But it isn't cheap! I can only buy it occasionally. :)

  16. my fave nut butter is any nut butter :), but the ones that are all tied for first are cashew butter, sunflower seed butter, pb & co white chocolate wonderful, and pb loco chocolate chip dookie dough (I think that's the name). SO GOOD

  17. My all-time favorite nut butter has to be a tie between cashew or macadamia. Oh, gosh they're good!!!!

  18. Pressures on to pick a favorite nut butter!! Oh I don't know! TJ's sunflower seed butter? Any Naturally Nutter? Maranatha raw AB? They're all so good.

Does Cacao Bliss or Coconut Butter count? I think I'd go with those. They're from cocoNUTS :P

  19. what a great, filled with info, post! The PB cups look amazing and not too difficult to make. I make a carrot/potato dish like yours but often add a few other veggies and I love using purple potatoes too!

I think my favorite nut butter is PB&Co's white chocolate wonderful. YUM!

  20. Loving the PB cups recipe – these are going to get made soon.
Just discovered your blog so I'm gonna go off and read all the old posts.
    :)

  21. that's funny you are on my blog because i'm over here poking around at all your goodies. i have heard about your PB cups. never thought of adding nutritional yeast. it will be a hard one to pull over on the hubby who wouldn't even let me add salt to them. he's a stickler!

  22. wow, those pb cups look amazing! Good thing you can make just 1-2 at a time because it would be hard to resist them!

  23. I just stumbled across your blog from Heather's blog. I am newly gluten free and now found a new blog to read with so many great ideas. I am making these peanut butter cups for a cookie exchange I am having. Thanks for the great ideas :)

  24. I'm making these tight this second. The first layer is in the freezer hardening. I'm making them for the boyfriend for a treat…I'm pretty sure he's going to be sooooooo happy!
    Thanks for the recipe, love!!!
    XO,
    Erin

  25. thanks for the idea. i never would have thought to make pb cups from scratch! now i can make gluten free ones for my hubby!

  26. what a fun outing. skylar is so cute!!

i need to make those PB/choc cups. now. i need to find the paper cupcake holders first though.

  27. Sorry for such a late comment! Catching up on some posts that I've missed! Those peanut butter cups look delicious & I'm so excited that they're so quick to make!

About your questions, I would personally want to say something to the cigarette butt guy but I don't think I actually would. Some people are just not going to care no matter what you say.

My mom once spoke up to a woman who was hitting her child in public and the lady tried to come after my mom. With how strong you look, I'm sure you'd be able to stand your ground but it's still a scary situation. If someone is going to treat their own kids like that, you can only imagine what the person would do if someone tried to speak up. I feel so bad for kids that have to deal with stuff like that.

  28. Oh dear…I didn't realize that you couldn't eat graham crackers. Are there no gluten free graham crackers out there? Hmmm…maybe I need to work on that because no one should have to live without graham crackers! : )

    Have a beautiful day!

  29. I have made peanut butter cups before and used graham cracker crumbs in place of the nutritional yeast. They are really good! You might want to try those when you run out! : )

  30. What a tough question! I am totally all tough sometimes about confronting someone doing something I think could endanger someone/something, but I usually chicken out. I live in a fear of someone deciding they don't like being told what to do and decide to beat me down or something. Same reason I try not to honk at other drivers and just swear inside the safety of my own car.

People are CRAZY! Plus I like to think that Karma is a bith and that old man will find himself in the after life picking up trash with chopsticks or soomething.

  31. Thank you for posting this recipe! I'm a huge fan of peanut butter cups but I haven't had any in a while now that I am vegan :)

I can't wait to make these! You are right, things you make yourself are so much better.

  32. i cannot wait to make the chocolate pb cups and trick my boyfriend into eating them…he refuses to eat anything that is natural…he prefers chemicals and fillers…haha…

i agree with what jane said, i would pick up the butt in front of the dude…that would send a message loud and clear…and you won't have to say a word!!!!

as for the other incident…i wish there was something i could do or say when i see something like that…it breaks my heart to see children mistreated in any circumstance, even if mom or dad are frustrated…i never say anything though…ever.

  33. Those PB cups look perfect, better then the real thing!!! Thanks for the super easy recipe!!! Love the photos of you and your cutie daughter!! Thanks for sharing!

  34. dude did you take a picture of a real PB cup and just put in your wrapper…seriously those are perfect.

hmm butting in..gosh I rarely do, but on a occassion have found myself saying something. I don't really know what my threshold is..maybe just my mood that day

  35. I never would have thought of using nutritional yeast in pb cups. Interesting. I always used powdered sugar to make it the right consistency, although now I use lucuma.

  36. don't have kids so i def don't say anything…

glad skylar struck a pose for you guys :)

YUMMY pb cups!!!! intrigued by the nooch…

  37. First of all, what CRAZY awesome peanut butter cups!! I love that you actually make them look just like a Reese’s but healthier. The step by step is definitely inspiring me, but I’m not sure I’m a fan of peanut butter cups in general. Still…I’m loving the professional look of it! Have you considered setting up a business selling your goodies??? I swear there will be people lining up to buy them!!

Hmm I definitely know what you mean about wanting to “interfere” with the lives of certain strangers. But I don’t because I know it’s not in my place to do so…especially because I truly believe that if that person is a stranger, who am I to judge them and what their priorities are in life? It’s humiliating for them! How is it different to going up to a person eating a box of chicken nuggets and yelling at them for buying something you think as “not healthy”…I don’t know. I don’t like other people judging me for my choices, so I don’t want to judge others based on what I think is right.

No matter what though, I totally know where you’re coming from. I have to stop myself from reacting sometimes. Thanks for the thought provoking post Averie!! Hope you’re having a fabulous Monday!

  38. OMG- your peanut butter cups, you may have just posted like your BEST RECIPE EVER. Looove them, and they're soo cute!

As far as confronting people, if it is a personal preference/opinion/lifestyle issue, I've learned to not say anything at all- instead focus on myself, and the people in my life. But if its about someone in danger/risking my own health, yeah, I might just say something. :)

  39. Can't wait to try the PB cups!

And I never say anything. They won't change their lifestyle/manners/etc because I said something. A remark from me is only likely to stir up trouble and ruffle my own feathers, as well as theirs. I have enough to worry about without starting a fight with a stranger!

  40. dare I say those PB cups are your best creation yet! oh sweet lord, those are amazing.

I tend to be a very passive person :( so I would probably butt out.. that's not to say that's the right thing by any means.. I wish I had some kahunas and could speak up for what I believe in! bah, something to work on..

    have a glorious day kitten!

  41. I'm about 110% sure that you should give hersheys a call and propose your vegan line of delectables to them!

thats a hard one! I think I would probably not say anything just because people are gonna do what they're gonna do regardless of what other people say. It's sad but true! As long as you know you're raising your kids right I think that's the important thing

  42. Oh my goodness! I cannot believe the oh so delectable pictures/recipes you have in this post! I will most certainly be trying these dishes/desserts out…FO SURE!

I'm a new face to you, but have been reading your blog for a while! :) Nice to meet you! :)

you can find me at http://www.healthyhappenings.blogspot.com

    Tiffanie

  43. Really cool idea! Ive made PB cups before but never with nooch in it. Thats an awesome idea! I love it!

Hmmm situations like that are tough and I think, there is no easy answer. The cigarette butt flicker probably won't change his ways. You are right…hes probably set in his habits, but I guess it can't hurt though just to maybe mention something nicely? I dunno. I think it could go either way.

Btw I love the pic of Sklar in those yellow shades! Super cute.

The food looks absolutely amazing! My husband loves the butterfinger oats!!=)

    Have a great day!

  44. omg so cute! love her in those shades!

and wonderful recipe and pics of the PB cups! i wanted to see teeth marks, girl! haha jkjk

hmm very tough situations these are… i always witness real life situations where I want to butt in, but find it so hard to because i feel like i would be overstepping boundries ya know?

I think I would certainly say something to the man, at worst case he wont listen tot you but its worth saying something I think! if I drive behind ppeople who throw their cig's out teh window I always want to drive up to them and tell them to NOT do that so it goes into my face

    xoxo

  45. I would say something to the cigarette guy – if you don't you are always going to see it happening and be annoyed with it. If you say something, no matter what the out come then at least you will know that you tried.

  46. You're killing me with those PB cups. I think I just died and went to heaven. THANK YOU for the small yield because I'd eat the entire think 2 or 20 ;)

Glad you had such a great time meeting up! Hope you guys will be able to get together more often!

I hate witnessing things. It makes me really uncomfortable so I tend to "ignore" it.

  47. You are SO creative with the raw treats! Peanut butter cups look amazing and pretty with the ruffled edges:)I have always loved Reece's peanut butter cups, but not all the junk in them. Yours look fabulous!

As for whether to say anything or not, well I usually wouldn't–mainly because I'm too chicken to confront a complete stranger. I think if you are bold enough to say something and can do it in a kind way–go for it!

  48. OMG those peanut butter cups look yummy, those used to be my favorite candy when I was young. But ever since I gave up PB and dairy I have not had them in so long, thanks for the recipe!

On in regards to seeing things in public, well I want to say something, but normally keep my mouth shut. It is hard but I try to put myself in their shoes and ask would I want someone saying something to me?? It is a hard thing not to though.

  49. Jealous of your blogger meet up with Greens and Jeans.. how fun! Soo glad Skylar lasted for awhile to!!!!

I seriously would have never thought to put nutrional yeast with peanut butter? These look awesome.. I like how smooth the chocolate is on top.. look "candy-store" quality!! :)

  50. I cannot BELIEVE how perfect those PB cups looks! I totally want to make AB cups now! And mixed the nut butter with nooch? What a great idea!

I typically mind my own business unless someone is jeopardizing the safety of my wee ones or myself.

  51. You thief, you! I make these all the time. Everyone knows to put nooch in peanut butter cups, don't they? I mean, everyone has this basic recipe; how an you call it yours?

    WTF?

Now I really think your anon commenter was on glue or something. Averie, those things look AMAZING– *just* like real Reeses cups!

(And, for the record, NOTHING like anything I've ever made)

I wanna try one now!! Only one? Oh who am I kidding. I'll take a whole batch, please ;)

  52. I'm drooling on those PB cups. Gives me the idea to make them with almond butter!

As far as the butting in situation, I think I would butt out. Now, with the mom/child thing, if it looked like abuse, I would probably say something. What, I don't know.

  53. Hey those PB cups look yumbo. You and Voracious Vegan have certainly got me onto Nutritional Yeast…I find it soooo hard to get. I am going to have to order me some. Oh btw, on my blog post, that wasn't me pictured next to the white ferrari. That was my friend Ang. I was much happier with our black 4WD hehe.

Thanks for another truly delicious post and glad you finally got you some girly time. When I finally get over there to meet Kristen, you'll be on the guest list too :)

  54. I'm making these tomorrow. I promise.

I tend to be one of those people who say something. When I don't, I always regret it, but I always try to be overly sweet and nice and tactful about it, or make a joke out of it, naturally.

  55. What a great weekend! Those pb cups look so yummy! i think I'll try them with some almond butter!!

As for butting in, I have learned over the years to stay out of things unless they directly involve me. If someone tells my kids how to behave when I'm out and about I quickly remind the person that my children already have a mother. It works well : ) Of course, my kids are pretty darned good so it's only happened once. I don't think that lady will ever forget me ;o)

  56. hmmmm.. it's a hard one. When it comes to the litter bug I would definitely say something because it's pretty black and white – he's definitely doing the wrong thing (no ifs or butts haha!). But with the Mum, I don't know, I'd be more inclined to think it's none of my business and I doubt me saying anything would make one jot of a difference.

Let us know what you decide to do about the butt head!

  57. You girls are sooooo cute! I love that pink jacket you're wearing! And Skylar is too cute in those shades!!!
I'd be weary of saying something to a misbehaving parent, but if I really felt like there was an abusive situation going on, I'd try to get help if I could from another onlooker and maybe we could figure something out together? In L.A., I just assume everyone is always carrying a gun, regardless of what they look like, and in the interest of you know, not getting shot, I try to stay out of other people's business.
That said, if a child is in danger, I think you should do something…

  58. You and skylar are SO gorgeous <3

PB cups were my obsession when i was a kid. I loved them. Can you believe I still have not found nutrional yeast anywhere? ugh.

i hate litering too :( but i am not very good at confrontimng peopl.e

  59. OH am so making PB cups! OMG! Thanks for that!
you look so pretty in that pink sweater! very ruffly! love it!

so glad you had gal time out! and your new yoga gig! PERFECT…you are really getting settled into your new town!

and the butting in topic…I have to literally bite my lip. unless it's something that directly is harmful to myself or kids…I just try and let KARMA deal with them.

I can't say I've never butted in… but even though I get irked…I try and just live and let live.

    grrr.

    HAHAHA

  60. So glad your Girl's Day went well! What a fun blogger meet-up, especially since Sylar was kept entertained!

I've made my own PB cups before… SO amazing homemade. LOVE 'EM!

Hmm… I think it really depends on the situation with random comments. I think a dirty look would get your point across in the situation you described. Often times, there are discreet ways to make your point (fanning your hand if someone is smoking by you, saying to a friend next to you "Don't you just hate it when people throw their trash on the ground" if you see someone littering, etc.) especially if you don't know the person at all. You don't want to put yourself in a potentionally harmful situation by making a criticizing comment, no matter how well-deserved it may be.

BTW – Love your "Squash Master" title you gave me! You crack me up!

    xxoo
    Heather

  61. Fun meetup and nice of her to be proactive and engage Skylar!

Those PB cups look amazing. Q- can I make something equivalent with my fave rasted Carob powder?? Help me figure something out!!

Re. Butting in. when I was younger I used to do it (you know to save the world), but having been burned and hurt on many an occasion now I sadly just look the other way. Or I'll really choose my battles. but for the most part I do keep mum.

  62. Nooch in peanut butter cups? How interesting! Yet another creative and simple recipe I can't wait to try from your blog. They look amazing. :)

  63. I take Snuffy to Starbucks but I don't let her "down" she likes to sit at the bar in the high-top chair and watch the baristas make drinks ;) I love the Raw Reese's!! These would be great for the holidays, thank you! As far as the mom in BN, I agree that she was just having one of those moments. I would not have said anything. In those situations, I will say something if someone is compromising the health or safety of myself or my child. There may be situations involving an animal or child where I would not hesitate to say something

  64. Okay real quick before I go to bed…I keep going back to the PBC's I am so going to have to figure out how I can make these so I can eat them! I have never melted carob yet…guess what has been added to my list of to do tomorrow… Carob, Almond Butter Cups…To bad I have to sleep…Sweet dreams! Do I have enough !points in this comment? Just trying to make sure you understand how excited I am for PB cups experiment to begin! Nighty, night XOXO

  65. yummmmm, your recipes are so dangerous to me because I totally use the healthy ingredient excuse to eat to much, too bad they can't be calorie free too!

On a side note, I know it's not the style of your blog, nor would I want it to be, BUT do you think there is any chance you might be willing to post a full day or two of what you eat? You have such a unique, yummy, and healthy diet that I would love the complete picture.

  66. Hi Averie! I just started reading your blog and really enjoy it! First, I love the idea to add ground ginger to the potatoes. I love roasting all kinds of potatoes and will be trying that next time. Also, the peanut butter cups look absolutely mouthwatering. I will definitely be trying them! My hubby LOVES Reese's cups, so I'd make him happy that's for sure! I've never used nutritional yeast and am not familiar with where to find it/nutritional benefits/etc. I'll be looking into that. Could I sub with some ground flaxmeal for now?

About those those tough situations…Maybe "Hi there! Do you mind not throwing your butts outside? I'd appreciate it so much!" haha I don't know! That mom situation, hmm yikes. I'd maybe say a prayer for the kiddo and the mom to have more patience and love, but that's just my own beliefs. I don't know how you'd approach a mom like that. Good question!

Sorry for the REALLY long comment! Take care, Averie!

  67. AVERIE!!! OK, honestly, how does your brain work? I am in awe every.single.time I read a post of yours. I mean, do you think "hm, ya know, I'd really like a reese's cup today. What can I do about that?" And then you whip it up? I'm just amazed.

A lot of times I want to say something, but I normally just shoot them the hairy eyeball (AKA a nasty/disapproving look). I'm not sure it does any good!

Off to go catch up on your other posts! XOXOXO :)

  68. What a fun coffee date :) mmm PB cups. And how good does that salad look on top of the roasted veggies? I love a good hot/cold combo! Your arms look so incredibly strong- LOVE it!

  69. Wow 1st one to post! So exciting! :-) I have decided to make the apple crumble and the raw pumkin pie for my deserts on tukey day. (it's always good to have your desserts under control for a big fancy meal first…I mean who cares about the first 5 corses! Ha! ;-) )And I may even have the soft serve? I haven't try to make that yet but I will be tomorrow! Yeah Mondays are my kithen day! Yippie!

What to say to people…. I am a wimp, so I rarely say anything. The few times I have said any thing its never worked out. Ends up just ruining my day. The mother you'll never see her again so you could have just quickly said something and maybe it at least would have taken the anger offthe kid on onto you instead. But the old "fart" you have to pass him most days so that one I would put a little more thought into it, don't want to ruin your run everyday. I'll have to think some more on it…

Thanks again for your wonderful blog. Love ya!

  70. Those vegan PB cups look PERFECT!
I always just junk dark chocolate into the jar, but there's something about all the textures and shapes that you got perfectly right!

Hmmm….those are all such grey areas. With the mom, I would just let it go. But with the guy flicking cigs, since you see him every morning, you could make a comment, like, "Hey, just a heads up, leaving your cigarettes lit is a fire hazard. Would you mind not? I'd just feel more comfortable."
And then you can always just take off running, if you're like me and afraid of conflict. ;)

  71. Oh man Averie – I can't believe *I* never thought about us meeting up while we were in AZ!! I feel so bad that i never mentioned anything sooner. I guess because a part of me thought I was going to get out of going until the very last minute. I am still thinking we can meet up some time in the future though!

Thanks for the nice comments on my blog – you always leave so many great thoughts.

As usual your food looks amazing…for once I'm not craving something sweet so the potatoes and veggies are making me salivate this time! Skylar looks so cute, as always. How fun that you got to meet up with another blogger!

If I had the balls to say something to that guy then I probably would. I hate seeing people flick their butts and litter like that. It's so annoying…as for the kid situation – I don't agree with how that mother acted, but I am not yet a mom and I feel like I have no room to criticize. I thought my SIL needed to discipline her 1 year old a lot more than she did (or at least tell her not to scream for no reason) but then perhaps I'm wrong?

  72. I wouldn't say anything. If the littering bothers you, and it's not on private property, maybe you could go over one morning and pick it up in front of him with a plastic baggie. That would send the message.

  73. Hi Averie! I recently discovered your blog and I have to say I absolutely love reading all of your posts. I just made my first batch of your raw vegan chocolate coconut snowballs and I can't wait to taste them!!!
Looks like you had a great weekend and your PB Cups look heavenly. I will definitely make them soon! :)

  74. Aww.. Mommy/Daughter photo op!

I think my hubby would pee his pants if he saw that recipe! I would love to make them and use them in a dairy free ice cream recipe!

I normally just keep my mouth shut. I'm a very non-confrontational person.

  75. You and Skylar are so cute in your matching outfits!

Girl, I don't know if you know but PB cups are my favorite (I just posted a pic of the processed orange-wrappered deal). They're next on my list of your goodies to make!

Witnessing awkward (or potentially violent) things like that are so uncomfortable. I don't know if I would say something in every situation, but if it looks like a parent is really manhandling their child, then yep.
