  7. I plan on combining Valentines Day and Mardi Gras together since they are days apart and both fun. I am going to spend it with my to favorite guys, my hubby and my six year old. I have pinned 6 recipes to try for that week of V-day and Mardi Gras to make my guys happy! Love them and cant wait to try them.

  8. nothing – in the process of trying to get out of a 20+ year relationship that turned abusive and am alone so not really in the mood for celebrating “love”

  9. I have no idea what I will make for V-Day this year, but I know it will include my partner’s favorite chocolate chip cookies :)

  10. We do not go out to eat that often, but to get away to our selves I think we might go out to eat and maybe to a movie.

  11. My boyfriend is taking me out to a surprise restaurant but as long as theres steak, chocolate and wine I’ll be happy

  12. I’m definitely going to be hitting up Pinterest in search of the perfect V-day recipe! Maybe those incredible looking brown sugar maple cookies?!?!

  13. First time V-Day actually means something to me… not sure yet, but I’m sure I’ll figure something out by the time February swings around! Anything sweet… :) #UltimateProcrastinator

  26. I will probably not be making a special dessert as we have cut a lot of that out except for special occasions. The pictures look great and I plan on saving this post to look into each recipe more.
    Have a beautiful day!
    Thanks for the giveaway!

    1. Valentine’s Day is a special occasion but not my favorite at all. :( We chose not to celebrate it in our home. Just another day…….I know the chocolate and card companies do not like people like me and that is ok.

  27. I’m thinking about doing fondue this year! I think it would be great to have our own little melting pot in our own home!

  28. I am making ribeye steak Mac and cheese and for dessert cute little mini red velvet cupcakes with heart shaped redhots to decorate the top!

  29. I have been married to a wonderful man for about 33 yrs. At this point in our relationship he shows me everyday that I am special and that he loves me. I am blessed indeed. So I really donot need one day a year to remember that I am loved. We remember it and celebrate very quietly.

  30. I’ll be making heart shaped tarts filled with jam. They’re a family tradition. We only make them for Valentine’s Day, and I look forward to them every year!

  31. I think I’ll make heart-shaped shortbread cookies with macadamia nuts that are dipped in chocolate. That’s for dessert, but I haven’t decided on the dinner menu yet since it’s only the beginning of January.

  32. Haven’t decided for sure yet, but I’m planning to make a raw dessert I’ve never attempted before. I have plenty of recipes to choose from, so it will depend on my mood and the items I have on hand.

  34. For me, this Valentines’s Day I am going try out your recipe that you shared on Pinterest ~ “Red Velvet Cheesecake”. I usually do the regular Red Velvet Cake for the past 30 years. 36. Love your Blog Averie and you are a smart cookie to be thinking of Valentine’s Day already! So many wonderful ideas…yumm!! Thank you, PW

  37. Due to recent surgery I know my husband and I will be unable to celebrate by going out. This would be a nice treat to give to him for all he does for me each and every day.

  38. I always make heart-shaped sugar cookies and frost them pink with sprinkles. Not too fancy, but the kids love ’em.

  39. My plans for Valentine’s Day? Probably cooking something wonderful for my hubby. . maybe a Korean food dish. . and baking something sweet too. not 100% sure yet. . if we didn’t have kids, I would say, Valentine’s Day would be for my HUSBAND to plan. . but those days are over! :) We might go someplace fun over the weekend though! :)

  40. hmm, what to make for V-day? I want to attempt chocolate mousse. I mean the good stuff, I never made one before and I think that is what I want to make. I guess it depends on how Hubby is treating me, lol

  41. I’m not sure what my plans for Valentine’s Day will be yet but hopefully they will involve a nice dinner and plenty of chocolate!

  47. I think I’ll try and get together with some of my other single female friends and we’ll have a chocolate party (:

  48. Valentine’s Day is our anniversary. We usually take a mini vacation then. I was very sick when we were married and we did not get a honeymoon. It will be sixteen years this year and my sweet hubby has taken me on a mini vacation every year since. He promised he would and he comes through every year. He married me knowing I would need lots of care then and life has been so good since. Love him so much!

  55. I was thinking some strawberry cupcakes for the kids then I realized my youngest is leaving for Florida on Valentine’s Day. Lucky child! I am also thinking a variety of cookies would be great to share with friends and loved ones–especially the cranberry and white chocolate chip cookies.

  56. I haven’t ironed out all my valentine’s plans for the hubby but it will include a great dinner and the traditional heart underwear I get him every year.

  57. For Valentine’s Day, hubby and I are going to a magic show with cocktails and fancy appetizers. No cooking for me!

  58. We will both be working, so no plans for us. Dinner out over the weekend is a possibility, but we probably won’t decide until that week.

  59. Hubby and I always spend valentines day in. Our tradition is to cook dinner and dessert together and then watch a movie :)

  60. Hmm, well, for me Valentine’s day mostly includes dodging the kissing couples at school, which is quite enough on my plate. No special cooking plans, but I’m looking for a nice chocolatey recipe to give to my friends!

  61. So far no plans for Valentines Day, my husband and I aren’t usually big on celebrating that day but the anniversary of our engagement is the day before so we try to do a little something special. I will probably end up making him some cookies as a treat, we have a new baby so I’m not sure if we’ll be able to get out just the two of us that night!

  62. Ill be making a bunch of stuff but I’m a teacher so I will certainly make red cupcakes for my students! And staff will get strawberry cake pops!!!
