My husband and I have “Bistro” night. We pick a theme (this year will be Vietnamese) and make appetizers we’ve never made before. The more exotic, the better. We prepare them together and then share them together while practicing our dancing to some wonderful music.
I’m planning on hiring a babysitter so that for the first time in 4 years my husband and I can actually go out on Valentine’s Day and spend some time alone just staring into each other’s eyes over a delicious meal.
I’m working the evening shift on Valentine’s Day :0( I plan to make some snickerdoodles the weekend before though, since they are my boyfriend’s favorite.

The recipe is for Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake at Mangio Dasola’s blog. It’s one of the most elegant and easiest (although there are several steps, so plan ahead) desserts I’ve ever made. It’s to die for!
Valentine’s Day is my most favorite holiday. I celebrate by giving chocolate and other sweets to my girlfriends and coworkers. It is the best day ever. It’s been several years since I’ve attempted homemade truffles. I may try it again this year using Ina Garten’s recipe.

I will probably not be making a special dessert as we have cut a lot of that out except for special occasions. The pictures look great and I plan on saving this post to look into each recipe more.
Have a beautiful day!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Valentine’s Day is a special occasion but not my favorite at all. :( We chose not to celebrate it in our home. Just another day…….I know the chocolate and card companies do not like people like me and that is ok.
My husband and I will go out to dinner then come home and watch some movies :)
It’s never too early to celebrate love: what a beautiful day! Love makes the world a better place!

I have been married to a wonderful man for about 33 yrs. At this point in our relationship he shows me everyday that I am special and that he loves me. I am blessed indeed. So I really donot need one day a year to remember that I am loved. We remember it and celebrate very quietly.
Uuuuu…Valentines? Shoot, it seems like I’m always buying my wife stuff :)
I’ll make something real yummy as usual, but I’m not sure what yet.
Valentine’s Day this year is going to be spent embrasing family and friends and showering them with love.
I’ll be making heart shaped tarts filled with jam. They’re a family tradition. We only make them for Valentine’s Day, and I look forward to them every year!

For Valentine’s Day, I usually make maple creams and reese’s temptations.
Haven’t decided for sure yet, but I’m planning to make a raw dessert I’ve never attempted before. I have plenty of recipes to choose from, so it will depend on my mood and the items I have on hand.

Love your blog. Valentines Day at our house is like any other day. Kind and sweet to everyone.
I don’t have any plans set yet for Valentine’s Day.. I’m sure it will involve chocolate though :-)

hmm, what to make for V-day? I want to attempt chocolate mousse. I mean the good stuff, I never made one before and I think that is what I want to make. I guess it depends on how Hubby is treating me, lol
I’m not sure what my plans for Valentine’s Day will be yet but hopefully they will involve a nice dinner and plenty of chocolate!
how fun! Happy new year girl!

I haven’t begun thinking about Valentine’s day yet, but will probably make something chocolatey!
We’ll probably spend Valentine’s Day the way we spend every other day–it’s never been much of big deal for us. I’ll make us a nice dinner and dessert, but I do that anyway!
Think i’ll be trying some of these tomorrow!!
We usually just stay in & relax
I think I’ll try and get together with some of my other single female friends and we’ll have a chocolate party (:
Valentine’s Day is our anniversary. We usually take a mini vacation then. I was very sick when we were married and we did not get a honeymoon. It will be sixteen years this year and my sweet hubby has taken me on a mini vacation every year since. He promised he would and he comes through every year. He married me knowing I would need lots of care then and life has been so good since. Love him so much!
Hopefully beet risotto! Perfect Valentines Day color!
i plan on spending valentines day with my boyfriend of 1 1/2 years :)
i’m going to surprise him with homemade white chocolate & coconut covered strawberries, bake cheesecake, and attempt to make spaghetti carbonara, his favorite pasta dish!
they all looks so good! Now the hard part will be to decide which ones to make!
No plans
I always make a nice dinner, or we order out. I will make a cheesecake for dessert too!
I always make heart-shaped sugar cookies and frost/decorate them. My kids are all grown up but they still like having special cookies on Valentine’s Day. :)
OMG!!! Looks like I may have to reconsider my new year’s resolution to cut down on sugar!!
Valentines Day for me is all about spending quality time with the husband. This year I will probably surprise him with a gourmet French dinner that he’s never had before, since I’m French. I’m thinking Coq au vin, aka Chicken with wine. yum! Recipe here: http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/coq_au_vin/
I’m gonna gorge on plenty of delicious chocolate…chocolate cake probably :)
Man I haven’t even thought about it yet! Maybe I’ll try a Red Velvet Cake out of coconut flour?
Valentines Day is also my wedding anniversary. My husband and I will celebrate our 19th anniversary with dinner and a movie!

It’s all about the fudge over here at my house!
I have no plans for vtines day! As it falls in the middle of the week no doubt hubby will have to work late.
I was thinking some strawberry cupcakes for the kids then I realized my youngest is leaving for Florida on Valentine’s Day. Lucky child! I am also thinking a variety of cookies would be great to share with friends and loved ones–especially the cranberry and white chocolate chip cookies.
Red velvet cake truffles
I haven’t ironed out all my valentine’s plans for the hubby but it will include a great dinner and the traditional heart underwear I get him every year.
I might make my Pink Heart Sugar Cookies for the hubby! http://whatmickyeats.blogspot.com/2012/05/at-home-pink-heart-sugar-cookies.html
For Valentine’s Day, hubby and I are going to a magic show with cocktails and fancy appetizers. No cooking for me!
We plan on getting takeout and snuggling while watching a movie
We will both be working, so no plans for us. Dinner out over the weekend is a possibility, but we probably won’t decide until that week.
I will most likely be working, so I will make some simple heart shaped treats for my co workers
Hubby and I always spend valentines day in. Our tradition is to cook dinner and dessert together and then watch a movie :)
Those all look so yummy!!
So many great recipes! Yum!
Hmm, well, for me Valentine’s day mostly includes dodging the kissing couples at school, which is quite enough on my plate. No special cooking plans, but I’m looking for a nice chocolatey recipe to give to my friends!
yum yum! My only plans are to write a whole lot of cards to those I love
So far no plans for Valentines Day, my husband and I aren’t usually big on celebrating that day but the anniversary of our engagement is the day before so we try to do a little something special. I will probably end up making him some cookies as a treat, we have a new baby so I’m not sure if we’ll be able to get out just the two of us that night!
Ill be making a bunch of stuff but I’m a teacher so I will certainly make red cupcakes for my students! And staff will get strawberry cake pops!!!
We will probably create a romantic meal at home. It is cheaper and more fun than going out!
Looking forward to YOUR valentines day reciepes! That holiday is not a big deal here at all, but I love the themed treats!
