The Peanut Board wants you to energize your morning with peanut butter. There are health benefits to eating a nutritionally-balanced breakfast, but making time for a morning meal while juggling hectic schedules can be tricky. 93 percent of Americans agree that breakfast is the most important meal, but less than half eat a morning meal every day. Reasons for skipping out often include trying to lose weight or not having or making time. Adding peanut butter can help to make breakfast quick, easy, and provide the fuel needed for the rest of the day.

Making time for breakfast and choosing to incorporating peanut butter, which is a source of fiber, protein and healthy fats, can play a role in maintaining a healthy diet. Peanut butter is a great addition to mornings because it is a plant-based source of approximately eight grams of protein and more than 30 essential nutrients and phytonutrients per serving.

To help make mornings easier, the National Peanut Board is equipping peanut butter fans with nutritious breakfast tips and recipes at www.PB4Breakfast.com. Visitors are also encouraged to vote for their favorite peanut butter breakfast dishes. For every vote, America’s peanut farmers will donate $5, up to $10,000, to help serve a nutritious breakfast to the hungry.

Here are some of my favorite breakfast recipes using peanut butter:

  1. One of my favorite healthy snacks is a smoothie made from frozen bananas, peanut butter, milk and a dash of vanilla and cinnamon. It’s quick, healthy, filling and delicious!

    hugzeke@gmail.com

  2. Ok. All of these recipes look good. My favorite way to do pb is a PB & honey sandwich with sliced bananas and raisins. It was my favorite treat as a little girl.

  3. Our favorite peanut butter recipe is to put peanut butter on banana slices. You get the best of both worlds. :) We sometimes put peanut butter and banana on bread and make sandwiches. They are delish!

  4. My favorite by far is pb mixed with greek yogurt+apple cinnamon oatmeal and a BIG mug of coffee. emphasis on the big. Perfect fuel for a long run!!

  5. I love making chocolate chip banana pancakes, spreading a layer of peanut butter on them and then dousing them in maple syrup, delicious!

  6. My favorite breakfast is old-fashioned oatmeal with almond milk, cinnamon, vanilla, a little maple syrup, and a spoonful of peanut butter!

  7. My favorite PB recipe is my monster cookies. I’ve been attempting to make this into an oatmeal recipe, but have yet to succeed. Recipe will be posted when I do!

Here are my monster cookies. I’ve done a few modifications that have worked too — subbed out applesauce for butter + egg whites for eggs + craisins + white chips OR same recipe + mini reeses instead of white chips … these don’t last long.

    http://chimesdesign.com/blog/2012/02/26/coooooooooooooooooooooooookies/

  8. My fav Peanut Butter recipe would have to be just a simple slice of toast with peanut butter and honey mixed together and then a ripe banana all mooshed up on top (all of these ingredients I use liberally and just pile everything on!).
Then I just sit back and enjoy the most amazing slice of toast ever! Each time I eat it I wonder why I didn’t have that at the previous meal…. it’s soooooooooo very, very, very delicious! I love it! :D

  9. I follow you on Pinterest and just repinned the recent and delicious post on caramelized bananas! YUM!!!

  10. favorite peanut butter = melted into oatmeal with a smidge of maple syrup. YUM.
But really, peanut butter in any form is delish.

  11. My favorite Peanut Butter Recipe is Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie.
    Recipe:
    1 banana

    1 tbsp of flaxseed
1 cup of dark chocolate almond milk
    ice cubes

Put it all in blender and blend!! Then drink.

    wolverina401 at gmail dot com
