Easy, Ground Turkey Stir-Fry Recipe
- This ground turkey stir fry is an easy, healthy dinner or meal prep recipe that’s ready in just 25 minutes and made in one skillet.
- Ground turkey keeps the recipe lean and satisfying, but ground chicken also works if that’s what you have on hand.
- Soy sauce and chili garlic sauce add plenty of savory flavor, while crisp-tender vegetables make every bite hearty and fresh.
- It’s a flexible recipe that you can easily adapt with the veggies, protein, or ingredients you already have and enjoy.

Ingredients in This Ground Turkey Stir-Fry
- Olive oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, and chili garlic sauce: This simple sauce adds savory, slightly spicy flavor. Use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce to keep the recipe gluten-free.
- Ground turkey: Ground turkey keeps this stir fry lean and easy, but ground chicken, ground beef, or ground pork sausage can also be used.
- Onion, bell peppers, carrots, zucchini, and broccoli: Use yellow or white onion, and feel free to swap the orange and yellow bell peppers for green or poblano peppers if you want more heat. You can also add baby corn, green beans, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, kale, spinach, cauliflower rice, or other quick-cooking vegetables.
- Optional add-ins: Garbanzo beans, rice noodles, rice, fresh ginger, sesame seeds, and green onions are all great additions. For a spicier stir fry, add extra chili garlic sauce, red pepper flakes, or a drizzle of sriracha.

Ground Turkey Stir Fry
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil, plus more if necessary
- 1 to 2 tablespoons sesame oil, or as desired
- 1 large sweet Vidalia onion, diced small
- 1 pound ground turkey, ground chicken, ground pork sausage, or ground beef may be substituted
- 1 orange bell pepper, seeded and diced small
- 1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and diced small
- 1 ½ cups baby carrots, halved
- ⅓ cup reduced-sodium soy sauce, or as desired
- 1 to 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce, or as desired (start with 1 teaspoon if you’re sensitive to heat and work up from there)
- 1 large zucchini, diced into bite-sized piece
- 1 broccoli crown, diced into bite-sized florets
- kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- To a large and high-sided skillet, add the oils, onion, and saute over medium-high heat for about 4 minutes, or until onion is beginning to soften; stir frequently.
- Add the turkey, peppers, carrots, and cook over medium-high heat for about 7 minutes, or until turkey is cooked through and vegetables are crisp-tender. Crumble and stir the turkey as it cooks to ensure even cooking.
- Add the soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, and stir to incorporate evenly.
- Add the zucchini, broccoli, stir to combine, and cover the skillet with a lid to encourage the broccoli to steam. Cook for about 3 minutes, or until broccoli is as tender as desired.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately.

Would love to know what a serving size amount is. Is it like 1cup or 2 cups to a serving
Probably about 1 1/2 cups BUT this is the type of recipe that you can really bulk up with lots of veggies so that you can eat a large volume of food so it looks like a lot but calorically it’s not as high as you’d expect.
And depending on just how big or small your zucchini is, the bell peppers, the exact size of the broccoli crown, will also change the volume of food and how far you can stretch the servings.
This recipe is excellent. I used Foster Farms organic groung turkey and Lee Kum Kee chili garlic sauce and followed the recipe exactly. Would make it again for guests.
