In advance of Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d showcase a few of the Valentine’s Day treats and eats I’ve seen floating around in just the past couple days.  For a few weeks, I’ve seen so much that has me swooning, drooling, and wishing it was Valentine’s Day preseason forever because heart-shaped things are just too cute.  And they taste better, too.

I could go on and on, but that should get you started.

What have you seen for Valentine’s Day either in food and recipes, housewares, clothing, or other fun items?

What, if anything, are you doing to celebrate Valentine’s Day?  Are you celebrating this weekend or on the 14th?

We’re not doing anything “special”.  We’re not going out for a fancy dinner (typically with mediocre prix fixe food in an over-crowded restaurant), we’re not drinking any wine or champagne, and there will be no long-stemmed roses and chocolates on the pillow.

Instead, there will be dinner at home (prepared by yours truly), apple juice will be as close to wine as we get, and instead of chocolates on the pillow, I may find some cookie crumbs or Barbie shoes.

And that’s actually fine because I have no desire to go out on V-Day.  I’d rather stay in, enjoy the peace and quiet and time with my two Valentines, Scott and Skylar.

I’ve also included a LinkUp so if you’ve made anything, seen anything, or want to link up anything Valentine’s Day-related, feel free.  Link up as many items as you want.  Click on the Blue Button below to get started.

Happy Valentine’s Day Weekend!

  1. Ooh I love all these cute finds! All the baked goods look delicious and I absolutely love the heart Tom’s! Thanks for sharing :)

  2. The heart whoopie pie pan is SO FUN! I have a large heart pan that I love around this time of year. I usually make a chocolate chip cookie cake in there which is great. I also have a silacone heart cake pan. One time I made my boyfriend a funfetti cake in their for breakfast : ) No Valentine’s day plans for us. We are having a quiet weekend. Hoping by next week we are in a litlte more of a celebrating mood.

  3. I think Valentine’s Day should just be renamed sugar heart day. It’s so much more universal and accurate these days, haha. Best part of holidays = the change in colors and shapes of food.

    1. You got that right
the change in colors and shapes of food.

Easter, St Patricks Day, 4th of July…the colorful holidays are coming!

TGiving with it’s brown and oranges isn’t as “fun” or bright as Easter is :)

  4. Hubby is working all weekend and on Valentine’s day so if we go out at all, it won’t be until next weekend. We have a great local chocolate company here, so some overpriced but incredibly good chocolate will probably fall into the plan somewhere. One of my hobbies is making jewelry so I am working on a ring with little rubies so that is my project…and it’s my present to myself so I’m excited to finish it.

  5. I have to make some treats for my students for valentines day!! Eeeeek, didn’t even realize it was this Tuesday!

  6. Oh my gosh, if those Toms were in red instead of pink I’d want them on my feet right.NOW!

I hate Valentine’s Day (what can I say? I’m single. And I’ve worked as a server the past 4 Valentine’s. Pure torture), but I love heart shaped stuff.

  7. Oh goodness, those red velvet cheesecake brownies look and sound absolutely delicious. I know what I’ll be making for V-Day. I just hope I can have enough self control to not eat the whole batch before the Hubs gets home :) Thanks for the round-up of good recipes, Averie! Oh and I love love love those Toms heart shoes. Seriously, does it get cuter than that? May have to gift those to myself.

  8. ahhaha i was totally planning to do the same thing with linking up! you beat me to it :) there’s just so much deliciousness floating around this time of year!!!

    1. You still have time…make your own linkup, there’s like 9898 recipes out there for red velvet things right now :)

  9. Oh wow, I seriously covet the heart-shaped spoons!
I’ll be in class on Valentine’s Day so probably no romance for me. Chocolate though may have to be present at some point:)
