Last week the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) was held in Las Vegas and it’s the largest show of the year.

Whirlpool was at CES and revealed some new, exciting appliances. They design products that fit seamlessly into your life and focus on three pillars: Connection, Expression, and Innovation. Check out my pre-show sneak peak post for more.

There are great videos of all the products at the Whirlpool CES Hub. Watch the videos and see these state-of-the-art appliances in action.

They revealed 4 key new appliances at the show:

1. Interactive Cooktop – When your cooktop can browse the internet and connect with your social network, the kitchen becomes a hub of communication and exploration within the home and beyond. Entertaining is revolutionized when you can plan your dinner party on the same device that cooks the meal.

4. MaxArt Microwave – Here’s a video about the new microwaves. In a unique showing of how design, art, and appliances can come together to create a functional piece of work representative of culture, Whirlpool® collaborated with two artists in Mexico to turn a daily-used appliance into an object of desire. Local art collective Los Contratistas turned a set of 50 Whirlpool microwaves into a colorful, modular installation representative of Mexican culture using graffiti techniques. The final pieces work together to create a unique take on the modern day appliance, enriched by culture, design and the arts. For now, this is a concept-only product.

This is my final Whirlpool post and what has impressed me most about them is how focused they are on the consumer and believe in a future focused on you.

Their appliances are designed with you in mind and they really want to make your life easier, more streamlined,  and efficient. I really appreciate it when a company thinks in this way!

  1. It would be amazing if there could be a smart stove that can measure the temperature of the food your cooking and automatically adjust it to the temperature you want! Kinda like you plug in the desired temperature and it automatically brings the food to that temperature without you having to do it manually which would be really convenient when needing a specific temperature for milk/chocolate/etc when baking!

  2. My dream appliance is a washer/dryer unit that also folds. I can get through the washing and the drying, but the folding and putting away is a whole different story!

  3. My future dream for my home would be something that I can interact with and would easily and effectively aid to the style and sleekness of my home. A stove top that I can use at the time time follow my favorite food blog recipe. A refrigerator that could change temperature based on the foods I put in there and then keep track of what I have available and expiration dates. A microwave that can sense how long or short of time it needs to defrost or cook something…all awhile entertaining me and being pleasing to the eye.

  4. Right now, my idea for the future of my home is quite simple: a new OTR microwave to replace the one that died last week.

  5. I would love a fridge that keeps track of what I have and automatically creates a grocery list as I run out of items.

  6. I’d love a future kitchen with a fridge that catalogs what’s inside and how old it is, and sends you mobile alerts when you’re running low or about to hit an expiration date. It would also have real-time data on the go so you could access the list from your phone when you’re at the grocery store (or at work and about to head to the store afterward) and get hit with inspiration to make a new dish. Do I have 6 eggs? Are they still good? What about strawberry jam?

Although I’ll admit to being an organization freak, so I’d be one of those people keeping a strict catalog of what’s on hand. ;)
