Curling up on the couch with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and a great book is one of my favorite things.
I brew at home and almost never buy coffeeshop coffee because it’s over-priced, doesn’t taste great, it’s never hot enough, and there’s always someone reaching over me at the sugar-creamer station about to elbow me and knock over my over-priced cup of joe.
No thanks and it’s why I’m a home brewer.
In a recent test of nearly 100 coffeemakers, Consumer Reports identified the Mr. Coffee® 12-cup Programmable Coffeemaker as a CR Best Buy saying it delivered “convenience and optimal brewing”.
In tests of conventional drip coffeemakers, which are best for serving a crowd – think holiday entertaining – Consumer Reports “Recommended” the $40 brewer, saying it matched the brewing performance of pricier models as it’s “easy-to-use and clean, has a well-balanced carafe, and aced the brew tests, which are based on how closely models reach the industry-standard of 195ºF to 205ºF for roughly five minutes.
Such a snazzy little machine and I’m giving one away for one lucky reader.

I home brew Tim Horton coffee. I use my coffee pot everyday and it is in for repair,
Here us one of my long standing recipes:
Baileys Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
Crust
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
6 Tbs butter
1/4 tsp non-flavored gelatin
Filling
4 1/2 bricks room temp cream cheese
1 2/3 cup sugar
5 lg eggs, room temp
1 cup Bailey’s Irish Cream
1Tbs vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet Choc chips
Coffee Cream
1/2 pint chilled whipping cream
2 Tbs sugar
1 tsp instant coffee powder
For Crust:
Preheat oven to 325. Coat 9 inch spring form pan with nonstick vegetable
Oil spray. Wrap outside of pan with a double of aluminum foil. In a bowl
combine crumbs, sugar and melted butter. Press mixture into bottom and up sides of pan. Bake until light brown, about 7 minutes. Maintain oven temp at
325 F. Sprinkle Choc chips over crust or put in batter.
For Filling:
Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese until smoothe. Gradually mix in sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Blend in Baileys and vanilla. Spoon filling into
Prepared crust. Bake until puffed and springy in center and golden brown, about 1 hour 20 minutes. Cool completely before removing springform.
///// For best results bake the cheesecake in a Bain Marie ( a water bath).
Place the wrapped springform in a roasting pan. Fill the pan with hot water
until the level reaches 3/4 of the way up the side of the springform pan. This will
keep the cheesecake moist and will help prevent the cake from falling in
the center./////
For Cream:
Beat cream, sugar, and coffee powder until peaks form. Spread mixture over cooled cake. Garnish cheesecake with chocolate curls.
To make cupcakes:
Heat the cream just hot enough to melt the chocolate (not to boiling, just to a simmer), add the chocolate and stir gently while it melts. I’ve never added corn syrup to a ganache before so not sure at which point you would add it but as I usually add butter to ganache I would think you would add the corn syrup last.
My everyday coffee is a normal medium roast with a bit of half and half, but my favorite kind of coffee is Vietnamese iced coffee <3 Strong and sweet!
Since i'm in college I make it at home in the mornings with an aeropress, but if i'm on campus I'll buy at it one of the coffeeshops.
a story about me and coffee? my first time drinking it black was when I had to pull my first college all nighter. hahah
Regular coffee, light and sweet.
I used to buy starbucks all the time but then I got to where I really only like the actual coffee flavor instead of all that sugary drinks so I prefer now to drink coffee at home with a little milk and maple syrup to sweeten.
I make my coffee at home with a splash of hazelnut creamer and cinnamon on top!
Just plain ole coffee – neat, preferably home brewed:)

I like my coffee black, iced, year round. I brew at home and store in the fridge so I always have some ready. In desperate need of a new coffee maker though. Love your blog!
I love to brew Starbucks blonde roast at home and I drink it black!
I drink my coffee black. I usually drink 2 cups for breakfast. Sometimes I drink a cup at night when the weather is cold. Speaking of weather, in summer if the weather is very hot I won’t drink coffee at all. I’ll just drink ice tea for breakfast. I don’t like ice coffee
I’m partial to Cafe Bustello espresso, always with almond milk, stevia, and some sort of extract (this week is caramel-almond). I generally always brew at home.
My favourite coffee is Salted Caramel Latte!! I try to make it at home when I can,but it’s never as good as the one bought from a proper coffee shop! :)

Usually drink it black but when I’m around it I love the flavored creamers, vanilla, and such.
