Here this week’s installment of Thursday Things:

1. I am so excited about iTunes Match. It’s not here yet, but it’s coming soon.

iTunes Match. Itunes Match stores your music library in iCloud and allows you to enjoy your collection from anywhere, any time, on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, computer, or Apple TV. Match in minutes, any of your songs already in the iTunes Store are automatically available in your iCloud library. Listen at 256 Kbps, download and play matched songs at iTunes Plus quality. Even if your original was of lower quality. Your library information and unmatched songs will be uploaded to Apple and associated with your Apple ID. iTunes Match requires iOS 5 and internet access on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, 10 device limit. 25,000 song limit, your iTunes purchases are unlimited if available in the iTunes store.

“If you want the benefits of iTunes in the Cloud for music you haven’t purchased from iTunes, iTunes Match is the perfect solution. It’s built right into the iTunes app on your Mac or PC and the Music app on your iOS devices. And it lets you store your entire collection, including music you’ve imported from CDs or purchased somewhere other than iTunes. For just $24.99 a year”

What that means to me is that if you have an old Mac, Macbook, iMac, iPhone, iPod, iPad, and you’ve upgraded but have bits and pieces of your music scattered on all your different devices and computers, it will soon all soon be able to be synced up and consolidated.

All your devices can have all your music.  Yes, there’s a small annual fee but it’s well worth it to me.  Between laptops, desktops, iPods, and phones, I’ve had about 7 Apple products in the past 5 years and have bits of it strewn everywhere.  I was just complaining about this the other week, and no “enable home sharing” doesn’t fix this for me.

If you open iTunes, from the home screen, look at the right hand sidebar and notice it’s “coming soon”.

Welcome Averie! 2. In cooking related things, this week I managed to crack 10 eggs all over my counter top, all at once.  It was not a pleasant thing.

I bought a new carton of eggs and noticed that one had cracked open I was trying to get it out of the carton and toss it.  Well, it had gotten stuck to the paper carton and for some reason, I thought that gently shaking the carton as I was wrestling with this semi-broken and stuck egg was a good idea and would help unlodge it.  It wasn’t a good idea.

10 more eggs that weren’t lodged into the carton became unlodged and in slow motion, they all cracked all over my couter top, all at once.  Lovely.

3. I am really excited about the finale of Top Chef Just Desserts

Top Chef Just DessertsI am taping it on my DVR so don’t tell me who wins.  If you’re following the show, who do you think should win?  Chris, Matt, or Sally?

I think Sally is the best cook of the three; I think she’s the most creative, she turns out the prettiest food and food that just suprises me because it’s so unique and clever.  Plus, the Girl Power thing.  I hope she wins!

4. Candy Corn season is here.  I made something with my leftover C.C.

Not these No-Bake Candy Corn Cookie Dough Pretzel Bites, either.

Something else.  And I’m loving it.

It also involves chocolate.

5. This Epiphanie Bag

6. This Kelly Moore Bag Boy Bag

7. Pinterest.  Such a time suck.

Such a beautiful place.

I love it.

I could devote days and days to just browsing, clicking, and being inspired.  Food, drink, clothes, travel, architecture, furniture, home decor, desserts, photography; it’s like one big happy place for all things wonderful.

8. Halloween is coming up.  I have no plans other than to take Skylar trick or treating.  No adult dress-up, nothing crazy, just going to be princess-ing with my Princess.

9. Asian Foods Giveaway going strong for one more day

10. White Chocolate Cookies & Cream Fudge.  Scott requested it.  I will probably oblige his request and make some.  It’s no-bake and easy but he thinks it’s complicated which scores me brownie points.  Maybe he’ll get me a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer in return.  I can hope, right.

Questions:

1. What are your Thursday Things?  Anything have you excited this week?  Does that iPhone syncing stuff excite you?

2. Do you have Halloween Plans?

3. Ever dropped eggs everywhere?

That was a first for me but I have dropped a glass jar of caramel sauce all over my kitchen.  Nightmare.  For months later I found caramel splatters on just about every cupboard drawer handle, crevice, and nook and cranny in my kitchen.

If you have 1 spare second, could you please Vote for Me in the Delta/Biscoff Bake-Off.  Thank you and I really appreciate it!

  1. itunes match sounds like a fantastic idea! I love that bag. I kind of want to get some of those sugary pumpkins after seeing this candy corn!

    1. What are your Thursday Things? Anything have you excited this week? Does that iPhone syncing stuff excite you? I’m excited to celebrate my Dad’s birthday with him this weekend!

    2. Do you have Halloween Plans? Halloween is HUGE here. Our neighborhood is having a parade and then the usual goody hand out. We also do adult goodies and we’re getting a keg to give out beer

    3. Ever dropped eggs everywhere? Nope! But I have dropped lots of other sticky things :)

  2. I have never broken a bunch of eggs, but I did once break a HUGE jar of pickles when I was a teen. I was making a sandwich and couldn’t get the jar of pickles open. For some reason I thought tapping it against the counter would help. When it didn’t I hit it harder and the thing shattered. Why I thought this was a good idea, I have no idea!

  3. Wow, this is a heavy-hitting Thursday things – in the best way possible! I want basically everything you listed.

  4. Totally digging on that teal bag up there… super cute! My Thursday thing is that I’m craving sushi big time, so I’m going to pick some up for lunch! :)

  5. I LOVE candy corn! I have polished off one bag and am well into an “autumn mix” bag now–the kind with the pumpkins. Yummmm. Thursday things… looking forward to Vinyasa tonight! I’ve been practicing for three months now, and I’ve enjoyed browsing through your yoga posts–thanks :)

  6. How are the cc treats?!? I can’t wait! God, I should just make them myself already. Actually, I may have to. I bet I could make a ton and then give some to my family when I go home this weekend. Oooooh….project for tonight!

  7. I once dropped my egg bag down the flight of concrete stairs leading up to my house—not even a crack! However, lately, I’ve been getting shells in my eggs. WTH is my problem? I’m not new at this!

Also, not sure if this is not proper commenting etiquette, but Julie over @ PBFingers is giving away a kitchenaid TODAY!

  8. Um – I kind of need that Epiphanie bag now. Gorgeous. Yes, pinterest is addicting. I could probably look through it all day long. Love seeing your goodies there ;-)

  9. A colleague told me about that iTunes thing and I too got really excited! So neat! I’m usually pretty good with my eggs, I don’t think I’ve ever dropped one, but I’m HORRIBLE at picking out the right eggs from the store. I’m usually in a rush so never open and check before purchasing. I’m always stuck with a couple pre-cracked ones stuck to the side of the carton. You’d like I would have learned my lesson, but nope!

  10. I’ve done the egg drop. I was so focused on trying to unstick the corner egg that I forgot you’re not supposed to turn an egg carton sideways. Oops. The mess doesn’t bother me half as much as the fact that I wasted a good batch of eggs.
I’ve got to stuff the goodie bags for Halloween. (Candy, spider rings, stickers). I have the feeling I need to buy more candy.

  11. I always drop eggs. I also have a problem with cracking them, I tend to get the egg whites on the counter! haha. I love that turquoise bag, adorable! Pinterest is such a time sucker.

  12. I LOVE the idea of Thursday things and I also love that you are a MAC geek, because my husband totally is and I know nothing about it he’ll be dead impressed if I give him any factoids and the fact that I can pick up on them whilst reading food blogs is just totally awesome!
My Thursday things are two quotes I heard for the first time and love 1) The only people who try to hate on your dreams are people with none of their own 2) (not a quote per se, just a comment from my BFF) I’ve come to the upsetting conclusion that everyone who is successful is basically a work-a-holic. (ie. no shortcuts – boo hoo and so true) 3) pizza is like sex – when its good its amazing .. and even when its bad its still pretty good.
Sorry if the 3rd ones too raunchy! :)

    1. ps – i think there were suppoused to be a few more comments and full stops in the first sentence!

    2. I proofread my first sentence and yes, it had a little punctuation error. That’s the problem with blogging with a 4 year old next to me…concentration levels are sometimes not perfect :)

love your pizza analogy. True!! :)

      1. I was talking about the first sentence in MY comment – which made NO sense! Your first sentence looks fine to me :) x

  13. Egg disaster, yikes! That iTunes Match sounds amazing – we just got a new iMac and my mom got herself a new Macbook Air and I know I need to replace my slowly dying Macbook one day and then yes, what about all those tunes I already bought? Thanks – you’re quickly becoming the Mac expert!!

    1. Yes you will be in the same boat as I am and probably millions of other people are with the Mac Graveyard of retired machines with music stuck on them. This will save you :)

  14. Happy Thursday (almost)?
    1. I think I’m going to buy myself a Vitamix. (Yay!)
    2. I might go trick or treating for old time’s sake!
    3. Have I dropped stuff? Yes. Yes I have.

    1. life changing on the Vita. Seriously. Best thing ever. You can even buy a refurb’ed one from their online store for usually $300ish to make it even cheaper. I am a distributor for them. Lmk if you need any info!

  15. Yikes – sorry about the eggs! That sucks!

    Thursday things:

    1) I cannot wait for this semester to be over.
    2) I want to bake a cake. Weird, because I don’t really like cake.
    3) I wish X Factor were on tonight.
    4) I have no ideas for a Halloween costume. Perhaps I will go as a frazzled student …

    Wait …
