Tropical Alcoholic Punch — One of my all-time favorite party drinks! Feel free to leave the alcohol out if desired. This punch tastes delicious even without it!

Tropical Alcoholic Punch - Sweet and citrusy with a tropical vibe! So fast and easy!! Punch and sangria all in one with loads of fruit!! (can be made virgin)

Tropical Alcoholic Punch Recipe

With warmer around the corner, nothing beats a glass of cool and refreshing punch. This goes down so easily. It’s sweet, citrusy, and has a tropical vibe.

You can make the punch as either alcoholic or not depending on your needs. Simply omit the alcohol if you don’t want your punch to pack a punch.

For the base of the punch, I used Country Time Lemonade Starter Liquid Drink Mix and Kool-Aid Tropical Punch Liquid Drink Mix, combined with water. I found the ingredients at VONS. Look for the “new” tag at your local VONS or Safeway stores to find new items like these at great values.

There are pineapple and orange juices for brightness, lemon-lime soda for carbonation, and a few big handfuls of diced fruit. It’s like punch and sangria all in one.

What’s in the Alcoholic Party Punch?

For this spiked punch recipe, you’ll need:

  • Countrytime Lemonade Liquid Lemonade Starter (or a similar lemonade mix)
  • Kool-Aid Tropical Punch Liquid Drink Mix (or a similar flavor of Kool-Aid or product)
  • Lemon-lime soda
  • Pineapple juice
  • Orange juice
  • Fruit
  • Light rum
  • Coconut rum
  • Peach or pineapple schnapps
  • Apricot brandy or triple sec
  • Ice, for serving

How to Make Alcoholic Punch

Add the lemonade and tropical punch drink mixes to a large pitcher, as well as 4 cups of water. Pour in the lemon-lime soda, pineapple juice, orange juice, diced fruit, and stir to combine.

If making as an alcoholic punch, add all the alcohols and stir. Pour the party punch over ice and enjoy!

Can I Use Different Fruit Juices?

Yes! There’s lots of wiggle room in the recipe based on personal preferences and what you have on hand for the types of fruit juices and fruit selected. I used strawberries, pineapple, mango, and oranges, but use your favorites.

Can I Prep This Drink in Advance?

I don’t recommend making this alcoholic fruit punch too far in advance because the lemon-lime soda loses its carbonation over time. You could certainly measure out the other liquids before a party though.

Tips for the Best Spiked Punch

The beauty of this party punch recipe is that you can adjust the flavors easily to suit your own tastes. If you don’t like one of the alcohols I’ve listed in the recipe, swap it out for your alcohol of choice.

If you’re worried about the alcoholic party punch getting diluted from the melting ice cubes, I recommend using all frozen fruit instead of ice. That way, you’ll have more fruit to eat once the punch is gone and it will stay cold without becoming watery!

One last note: you should wait to make this alcoholic punch until your guests arrive. The lemon-lime soda loses its carbonation over time, so you can’t make this drink too far in advance.

  1. Great pictures, Averie and this drink sounds so good. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I would leave it out and enjoy it that way. Yum.

  2. Your photos are awesome the pictures are so crystal clear you can see every detail of the fruit..amazing and I love the glass picture you’re serving it in..what a great warm weather drink…we had snow yesterday in CT so as soon as we get back to at least 60 degrees I’ll give this a try…can’t wait

    1. I bought that pitcher just for this shoot. Sur La Table :) Thanks for noticing! And thanks for the compliments on my photos!!

  3. I love this! And, obviously, I’d add alcohol, ha!! My problem would be having just one glass!! :)

    1. Let’s just split the pitcher (with alcohol of course!)….and then, we’ll need to refill it :)

  4. I am so making this for my son birthday party, but I need to find a nice pitcher first, where did you get yours from?

  5. Is it happy hour yet? Because I’m ready to pour a glass right now! Hooray for Friday!

  6. I need to have a reason to celebrate just so that I can make (and drink) this lemonade. Holy yum! So much flavor and fruit. I love it.

  7. This punch really is just a PARTY in your glass! All that tropical goodness makes me positively giddy! I think this is going to have to be the cocktail of my Friday night. :)

  8. I currently have no summer parties planned. But, I personally love punch. Im foreseeing a party of one and a pitcher of this in my very near future.
Like tonight. It IS friday ;) Pinned!

  9. These would go down easy–sweet, fruity and a little fizz! Our association garage sale is this weekend and several of us are participating….I think we’ll need a pitcher of this at some point in the afternoon!!

    1. A pitcher or three, at least :) Garage sales are a good excuse to sit around all day and sip on refreshments!

  10. I like my punch with a punch, thank you. :)
Hoping that if I make this and close my eyes, I can pretend there’s a beach in front of me! Or at least a small swimming pool. It needs to warm up here in DC!

  11. Wait a second, I’m confused… Why would I need a refill? Am I not supposed to drink the whole pitcher all by myself?? ;) This looks perfect for poolside parties and beach days! If only I had either… I’ll just have to live vicariously through you and your beautiful SoCal location!
