Malibu Sunset

Living in San Diego, I’m normally just a couple hours from Malibu.

But right now I’m worlds apart and am in Aruba. And Malibu never tasted so good.

There’s really no wrong way to do pineapple and orange juice, coconut rum, grenadine, and cherries.

Technically this drink has a splash of cranberry, but I didn’t have any and wasn’t going to buy any for a splash.

Just use more grenadine. Scratch that.

More Malibu.

Holy moly these things go down way too easily in the heat and humidity.

They’re fruity and sweet without being over-the-top, and are so refreshing.

I love pineapple juice and it’s a perfect pairing with coconut rum.

If you’ve never had Malibu, you should change that. Someone will say they don’t like coconut, but I don’t think it tastes ridiculously coconutty.

It tastes what a tropical vacation should taste like.

This is Palm Beach, Aruba. My most favorite place on earth.

This little slice of beach is where I go to mentally when the going gets tough in life. It’s my happy place, and just thinking of it, gets me through hard times.

It’s where I’m the most calm and relaxed, ever. I love it here.

It calms me down and puts a smile on my face even more than one of these.

Although, they’re not too shabby. Cheers!

Can you tell me the quantites I would need to turn the Malibu Sunset drink into a 3 gallon party punch?

    • I haven’t ever done those kind of conversions but why don’t you make the recipe as is, find out how many times you need to make to get 1 gallon, and then multiply for 3 gallons.

    • One gallon is equal to 16 cups, so 48 cups will make 3 gallons. Here’s how I figure it. You have 6 oz of juice and 2 oz of malibu rum *i’m not including the ice for this measurement*, that gives you a total of 8 oz, which is 1 cup (also known as 1/2 pint or 1/16 gallon). So for 3 gallons of this drink, you’d need 12 cups of rum and 36 cups of juice! hope this helps :)
