Do you like peanuts and peanut butter?
Peanut butter has my heart. Almond butter is a bit too thin and doesn’t pack enough flavor punch compared to peanut butter.
Sunflower seed butter, Cookie Butter Spread or Biscoff, and Nutella are all great, but peanut butter trumps them all for me.
Ironically, I don’t like whole peanuts, or nuts of any kind, in desserts in their whole form. Ground up into peanut butter is a different story and I always bake with smooth rather than crunchy peanut butter.
In case you need more ideas and recipes, all my Peanut Butter Recipes are here
Will you be eating any peanuts or peanut butter today in honor of the holiday?
Feel free to link up any of your favorite peanut or peanut butter recipes
My pick is the PB&J blondies! Yum!
I am going to make some peanut butter RIGHT NOW! Thanks for all of the inspiring recipes!!
ENJOY! :)
Okay, now I’m reeealllly hungry. :)
Good Lord. Are you trying to kill me?!? Just scrolling {and drooling} my way through this enormous collection of goodies caused my throat to close in and my hips to swell. I’m terrified, as my sugar-crack addiction rages strong…and you’re feeding it. Thank you. Pray for me!
You know what’s funny is I am around this stuff all day, every day, and honestly, I am immune to it! But glad I got you going at least :)
I love these! Where’s the recipe for these “No-Bake Peanut Butter Granola Bars”? The link goes to purchase Crunch Time :-(
Emailed you as well and fixed the link in the post – sorry about that! Here you go

What a great round-up! Your Nutter Butter Special K bars are still one of the best peanut butter bars I have ever tasted!
So glad to hear that!
I had forgotten about those butterfinger bars. I’m so on that!
I am soooooooooo loving this post!! I’m bookmarking it for sure! I just don’t know what I want to make first? All I know is I need to get a spoon and take a big mouthful of peanut butter!!! This weekend I”m making your vegetables with peanut sauce!! he he! I am so excited for that dish!! All my fresh veggies came in from the CSA. Thanks for always having wonderful recipes, I look forward to your post everyday!!!
Aww, thanks Jennifer – you’re so sweet! Good luck with the peanut sauce, the server, and have a great weekend!
Dear Averie, peanut butter does have your heart indeed! Happy peanut day, dear friend, I am so proud of all your peanut creations! Even though I don’t like peanut anything, I am impressed! Well done! For those who actually do love peanuts this post is a real treasure, and I am saving it too, for those of my friends who have peanut butter tooth… :)
I still can’t believe you don’t like it at all! But thank you for reading and ‘tolerating’ all my PB posts :)
Oh Averie, thank you for your kind words. Well, there is much more to your blog than just ingredients. I come here to “see” you, my friend, to get inspired by your creations, both in recipes and photography. You have an amazing ability to envelop every reader in love of friendship. It is a pleasure to read your posts. Yes, this post is about peanuts, but the way I see it is with cashews, for example, or walnuts. And, hey! If you ever come to my house, I would make you a batch of this beautiful peanut butter just because you love it so much, so I bookmarked this post! :)
Dear Averie, I am not tolerating, I am truly enjoying… And thank you again for your sweet words, I was touched that you cared… :)
Oh this is so sweet of you :) Seriously, love each and every comment I get from you b/c they are truly heartfelt! I love that I can FEEL your joy and zest for life and good spirit coming through, really! It ALWAYS does! One day we will get to meet!
Sounds like a good plan! I’d love to meet with you one day :)
National peanut day! My friends and I did Iron Chef, secret ingredient peanut butter once, and I think everybody but me died a little that night. I love the recipes and will duly celebrate tonight…thanks for sharing!
that sounds so FUN!
I want number 10, 12, 14. Oh wait I want them all. What a great post
You picked some good ones!
I didn’t even know it was peanut butter day, and here it’s almost over now! Ah, such a shame… But it’s still not to late to whip up some of your delightful cookie dough truffles. Instant gratification. :)
Have you seen these yet?? http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505123_162-57508702/kraft-scares-up-candy-corn-oreos/ Whenever I see anything Candy Corn, I think of you, from reading your blog :) As for peanut sauce, I’ve always been a make it raw vegan with almond butter gal, but sometimes can’t resist PB. I’m going to try making my own now actually!
I have a post going out about those…in 8 hours! You know me too well!
I want one of each, please. They all look out-of-this-world-delicious! Happy National Peanut Day.
The fact that you can post that many recipes featuring peanut butter is pretty impressive. Talk about being a peanut lover.
Like you, I’m not a fan of almond butter that much, and I’ve experimented with several brands because so many bloggers rave about it that I feel like I must just not being getting the right brand. This happened with me and tahini – I hated my first jar, but now I want to swim in that stuff. However, have you ever tried Barney Butter almond butter. It’s delicious and has a Jiff PB like texture and smoothness. The ingredient list on it is pretty simply but it does have added sugar and oil.
And I have at least another 40 or so beyond this that I didn’t include..yes, I am a PB lober :)
I agree that peanut butter is the best. So many bloggers were raving about almond butter that I bought some just to see what the fuss was about. Wasn’t all that special, IMO
Me, too…just, meh, nothing great however Ive heard Justin’s is amazing but I dont want to pay $12 or $14 for a SMALL jar!
You, peanut butter fanatic?… nah… :P
Wow – you sure have a lot of recipes that use PB!! I didn’t know that National Peanut day was today, but I think I may have had peanut butter at breakfast … or almond butter … I forget!
I’m so glad you posted this, Avery! I have about 30 jars of peanut butter and nut butter at home and I need ways to use it up! And no, I am not exaggerating.
I have so many, too. The samples I receive, the ones I buy, the this’es and that’s, the maybe I’ll try this brand…yes…I know what you mean!
You amaze me and crack me up! I can’t believe all the peanut butter recipes you’ve done, and every time you post them I discover something new…this time it’s your peanut butter oatmeal white chocolate chip cookies…aaaaahhhh! I have to make them now.
those cookies are probably my fave cookie on my blog (tied with the choc chip oatmeal PB ones, but they may even edge those out a hair) and definitely in the top 5 cookies of my life…I love those things!
And this is not all my PB recipes. I have about 40+ more that I didn’t even link up to. Lol
I love peanut butter, but I don’t have any pb goodies in the freezer or oven, so I’ll just have to make a batch of my homemade pb, but that’s not a bad way to celebrate the day!
not bad at all!
Yummm! I love peanut butter!! I just posted a pb recipe yesterday ! (http://thechiha.blogspot.com/2012/09/pb-c.html)
Those pb special K bars look ahh-mazing! And the pumpkin pb ones too!!!
The ones you made are sort of a cross between the NutterButter Bars & the PB Nutella Graham Bars I have in this post (items 14 & 15). That recipe from Allrecipes has made it around the world & back :) and when I made #14 & #15, I knew it was similar to the Allrecipes recipe, but tweaked :)
Oh my goodness, Happy Peanut Day indeed! Your roundup of BEAUTIFUL pictures and drool-worthy peanut butter recipes has my head spinning with baking ideas and a serious need to bake right this second!
I LOVE that you have 35! peanut butter recipes here, Averie. So many delicious recipes but a couple of my favs are the Baked Chocolate Peanut Butter Donuts with Vanilla Peanut Butter Glaze, the adorable Thumbprint and of course – ba da bing! – the White Chocolate Vanilla Marshmallow Cake Bars! Seriously awesome photos of all and I love how easy and great tasting all of them are! Great list of PB treats!!
I am with you on the nuts in dessert thing. I do, however, LOVE nuts in my food. Whole cashews and peanuts in any savory dish for texture is my favorite. I love them in salads or on my zucchini pasta or even sprinkled in my soups. Happy Peanut Butter Day! Enjoy that gorgeous homemade peanut butter of yours! I am off to pick apples in my friends orchard later! Yay fall! :-)
Now when I post those bars, I think of you b/c I know they’re some of your faves :) And we think alike with the whole nuts…in savory yes, but not in sweets!
In honor of National Peanut Day, I just made your roasted PB, coconut oil, & ginger carrots (and burned my tongue because I ‘m too impatient to wait 5 more minutes for them to cool off–but it was worth a couple of singed taste buds!). These are part of breakfast and lunch today. If my husband is lucky, I’ll save him a few!
Darn – I forgot to link those up in this post under savory. Oh well, next time :)
But glad you love them so much (but ouch on the tongue!)
Considering that I eat PB pretty much every day, I think I have any holiday covered LOL. Now, when are you opening up a bakery???
Ive got it well-covered (daily!) as well!
I love peanut butter, I’m pretty sure you could put it on anything and it would taste amazing! I’ll have to eat some extra peanut butter today to celebrate the holiday (:
This post makes me giddy. 35 recipes with my all time favorite food in the entire world…. incredible. Things I totally wanna try: chocolate chip PB oatmeal cookies (they look SO SO soft), PB cocoa krispie smores bars, PBJ thumbprints (adorable!), peanut sauce tofu, and those combos bars!! Loved waking up to this post this morning Averie. You have some killer PB recipes in your archives and they deserve to be in the spotlight. PS: I’m headed to Anthro this weekend in search of a cute plate/bowl. And hopefully the thrift store too!
chocolate chip PB oatmeal cookies are some of my faves – and now i need to make your scotchies cookies!
I hope you have better luck at the thrift store than Anthro – your wallet will thank you :)
So many of those recipes look fantastic. especially the puppy chow one! great idea!
i’m eating some PB on sprouted bread as I type! thanks for the round-up!
DId not know it was national peanut butter day, but chances are we’ll be celebrating with some PB & J sandwiches for lunch! I cannot believe that you have 35 PB recipes alone. That is impressive.
And I have at least 75+ but didn’t post them all…just some of nearest and dearest faves :)
