Easy Pizza Dip — Cheese lovers and pizza fans will love this fast and easy dip recipe!! It’s the perfect party food that’s a guaranteed hit!
Easy Pepperoni Pizza Dip
Pizza. It’s everyone’s favorite food. Especially for game days, family-friendly weeknight dinners, and those must-have-cheese-now situations.
If you’re a cheese lover or a pizza fan you’re going to love this crustless pizza dip. I’d gladly skip my own one-hour homemade pizza crust and just eat pizza cheese, thank you very much. Plus, no crust means it’s naturally gluten-free dip, which is nice if you’re entertaining to have that option.
This pepperoni dip is so fast and easy to make that you can have it assembled and in the oven in less than five minutes without dirtying a single bowl. The perfect kind of recipe.
There are only 5 ingredients in the dip, and 3 of them are cheese. Cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese that are layered into pizza sauce and topped with pepperoni.
If you happen to have leftovers, just reheat and call them crust-less pizza or noodle-less lasagna. But I doubt you will because after everyone digs into the warm, gooey, bowl of comfort, all this cheesy goodness will be gone in no time.
What’s in Pizza Dip?
To make this pepperoni pizza dip recipe, you’ll need:
- Cream cheese
- Grated mozzarella
- Grated Parmesan
- Pizza sauce
- Pepperoni
How to Make Pizza Dip
This is such an easy dip recipe! You’ll first need to spray a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray, then carefully spread the cream cheese all around the base of the dish.
Sprinkle half the Parmesan and mozzarella over the cream cheese, then spread the pizza sauce over top. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the pizza sauce before adding the pepperoni slices.
Bake the pepperoni dip until the cheese is fully melted and the dip is done to your liking.
What to Serve with Pizza Dip
The possibilities are endless when it comes to serving this pepperoni dip! If you think something will taste good dunked in pizza sauce in cheese, then it probably will. Here are some serving suggestions to get you started:
- Toasted baguette slices
- Breadsticks
- Garlic toast
- Pita chips
- Bagel chips
- Pretzels
- Crackers
Can I Add Extra Pizza Toppings to This Dip?
If you’re a fan of doctored up pizza (my family isn’t), feel free to add black olives, sausage, bell peppers, pineapple, or whatever floats your pizza boat.
Can I Make Pizza Dip in a CrockPot?
I’ve never made pizza dip in the CrockPot before, so I’m not sure if it’ll work. Based on the texture of this dip, my gut says it won’t.
Tips for Making Pizza Dip
Be sure to use brick-style cream cheese for the richest, creamiest pepperoni pizza dip. You also want your cream cheese to be softened to room temperature so it’s easier to spread around the pie dish.
Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara sauce in this cheesy dip. If you have a homemade pizza sauce recipe you love, even better.
Note that this pizza dip is best warm and fresh, but leftovers can be gently reheated in the microwave.

Easy Pizza Dip
Cheese lovers and pizza fans will love this fast and easy dip recipe!! It's the perfect party food that's a guaranteed hit!
Ingredients
- 8 ounces brick-style cream cheese, very well-softened (lite is okay)
- 1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella cheese, divided (3/4 cup + 3/4 cup)
- 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese, divided (1/2 cup + 1/2 cup)
- 1 heaping cup pizza sauce (or your favorite marinara or red sauce)
- about 15 pepperoni slices, or as needed to cover surface of pie dish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F. Spray a 9-inch pie dish (I used a glass Pyrex) with cooking spray.
- Using a spatula or butter knife, evenly spread the cream cheese over the base of pie dish. It’ll slide around a bit and it doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s so much easier if your cream cheese is very well-softened.
- Evenly sprinkle 3/4 cup mozzarella over cream cheese.
- Evenly sprinkle 1/2 cup parmesan.
- Evenly add the pizza sauce to cover cheese and if necessary, gently spread it with a spatula or knife to evenly disperse.
- Evenly sprinkle 3/4 cup mozzarella over sauce.
- Evenly sprinkle 1/2 cup parmesan.
- Evenly top with pepperoni slices.
- Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes (I baked 23 minutes), or until cheese has melted and dip is done to your liking. Allow dip to cool momentarily before serving.
Notes
- Serving Suggestions: toasted French bread or baugettes, breadsticks, garlic toasts, pita chips, bagel chips, crackers, or eat by the spoonful.
- Dip is best warm and fresh, but extra will keep airtight in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Gently re-heat in micro before serving leftover portion.
- Read product labels to ensure all products are gluten-free if that’s a consideration for you.

I followed the recipe for the most part but make a couple small tweaks. I added a little more of everything aside from more cream cheese and instead of Parmesan cheese I used a queso pizza blend! Some alterations that seemed to work: I used mini hormel pepperonis while layering so each bite would get some pepperoni! You could also cut or divide regular sized pepperoni and incorporate those. I also added some Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Not to each layer and not a lot, but enough to give it a little something extra. With the extra cheese and extra sauce I wanted it to layer nicely so I did – cream cheese base, small pepperonis, cheese blend, Italian seasoning, garlic and pizza sauce. Repeat until your casserole dish is getting to the top….cover with a final layer of cheese and top with pepperoni. It was a huge hit! You really can’t go wrong with this dip. It’s my family’s new favorite.
Thanks for the 5 star review and I am glad this is your family’s new favorite!
I like the idea of a pizza dip but what happens to the texture after it cools off? Are you still able to scoop/dip it with a cracker or some type of chip without it crumbling to bits or is it beyond soft and scoop able because it has cooled? Cheese does harden up after all. At a gathering other dips and apps will be out so this probably won’t be the center of attraction (unless I eat it all myself). Love pizza, love this recipe!
Yes cheese does harden but I would say you have 90 minutes or so with this without worrying about it. Make sure people know HOT DIP here (aka eat this one first!). I don’t think you’ll have any problems getting it off your hands!
I made it the day before and put it in the oven cold and turned the oven on to 375 and baked it for 20 minutes. Turned out great!
Can I assemble this dip the day before and then put it in the refrigerator and bake it the next day?
Thank you.
Yes probably although I haven’t personally tried. I would let it come to room temp on the counter before baking to ensure the cheese melts nicely without anything else overcooking.
Thank you! If it turns out I will let you know.
Ok great!
I’m going to make this tomorrow for Super bowl
Awesome! I’m sure everyone will love it!
This looks like perfect super bowl food!

Has anyone tried the pizza dip recipe in a crock pot?
I personally haven’t tried it.
Made this before and LOVED it! Making again this weekend! If I wanted to double the recipe, what size dish would I use?
My guess is I would use a 9×13-inch casserole dish or similar but since I haven’t ever doubled it, cannot say for sure.
I made this and it looked great and tasted good. But I must have done something wrong because the mozzarella cheese hardened up as soon as it cooled down a bit, making it very hard to get a spoonful out of the pan without making a mess with the soft cheese underneath. Any suggestions on what I might have done wrong to cause that?
Possibly overbaked it? Mozzarella is the same kind of cheese you’d find on pizza and yes after time it does harden up, that’s normal for any cheese upon cooling. Not sure if this was more pronounced or not…but maybe try a different brand of cheese next time and be sure not to overbake it.
This looks sooooooooo good. What kind of parm. cheese do I use? The stuff in the green can or the other?Or could I just leave it out or add extra mozzarella cheese?
I haven’t used green can parm in ages and for this recipe I used grated parm in a tub that I bought at Trader Joe’s. Check your local grocery store in the cheese section (ask someone because sometimes different cheeses are kept in different places) if you can’t find it. I would definitely recommend that over the green can cheese.
This pizza dip is delightfully cheesy and delicious. I made spaghetti for dinner two nights ago and had quite a bit of garlic bread leftover, so we used that to scoop up the dip. So good! I let my six year old put it all together, which he loved. Thank you for another tasty recipe!
Glad you loved it and that’s so fun that you had a 6 year old little helper!
I made it today and it left me speechless.
So. Good! I mean – it’s not a surprise that baked cheese IS good, but I did’t think this pizza dip could be so delicious. I’m really afraid that I will eat much more than I should :)
Thanks for trying the recipe and I’m glad it came out great for you!
Hi there! I was hoping to make this for a company party this Thursday- its a fondue theme and I got assigned “pizza fondue” and I’ve never made anything like this before! Would it be possible to make this in a crock pot? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Based on the texture of this dip, I don’t know if it would be do-able in a crockpot. Maybe…maybe not. I would advise to just bake it like I wrote. Good luck!
That looks SO incredibly delicious. I’m about to give it a try, and I already know it will be de-lish! :)
Looks very delicious! I’m going to try your recipe today
This recipe looks sooooooo good! Perfect for game day!
Just 5 minutes of prep and no crust (so theoretically I can eat more cookies as my “carbs”)?? Yes. Just yes. If you’re serving this at the Super Bowl on Sunday, I’m totally coming over! ;)
I could eat this every day!! Cheesy dips are my weakness! Pinned!
You have some gorgeous cheese breads, too!
I agree with that that this is the perfect kind of recipe. Looks too tasty. I began smacking my lips.
Greeting, Lydia
OMG, my mouth is watering right now!!
You just need something cold to wash it down with and life is perfect! Hope you have a great Superbowl weekend!
Oh man, that looks like some greasy goodness!
I often experience must-have-cheese-now days!
Glad you can relate :)

Pizza dip is a classic family gathering food. This is just screaming WI/midwest.
LOLing at the comment above about dipping pizza in pizza dip. That’s so something my mom would do!
This takes literally 5 mins to make and you will look like a superstar! Your family will love it!!
Loving this! My serving suggestion of choice: a gigantic spoon!
Amen, me too!
I saw your post on Sally’s page and I was thinking the same thing! I’m totally planning on making this awesome dip for my Super Bowl crowd. I just don’t think people understand how tasty cream cheese makes dishes like this! I love your recipe and the mix of cheeses; the more cheese the better!
The more cheese the better and I know, me and Sally…we used to do this ALL the time, like 3-4 years ago. Not quite as much now but on THIs recipe of all recipes – the SAME day. Crazy! Thankfully we’re very good friends and we email and laugh about it :)
ALL THAT CHEESEEEE! Amazing.
This would be perfect for a low carb diet. Not that I would ever do that to myself….
I’m sure this is Atkins-friendly or something like that :)
You’ve gotta be kidding me. I want to dip everything into this. Even pizza.
My super bowl party is gonna loooove me for making this!
If you make it, LMK! And yes, pizza dipped in pizza dip…sound perfect!
I totally agree with you, Averie, skip the pizza and do this dip every. single. time.
Gosh girl this is game day happiness right here!
Oh my I might have to make this this weekend. Cheesy goodness to die for!
Thanks for pinning. Let’s use your potato rolls and dip them into this…talk about totally healthy and lite :)
What a FUN idea! I think this would taste amazing with garlic breadsticks. Yum! What a perfect game day appetizer.
Thanks for all the pins, too! :)
There are a few pizza dips popping up today! I think it’s a sign then I need to skip the gym and shovel my face full of cheesy goodness, yes?
This is perfect Game Day eating Averie! Pinned!
I know, me and Sally. Same day, 6 years of blogging, I have NEVER done a pizza dip. And I am the dip queen. And she and I make the same thing on the same day….ahhh, at least we’re good friends and can laugh about it on email!
Thanks for pinning!
This looks like pizza…..and I’ve never seen or tried anything like it! Any kind of “crust” is possible depending on what you serve it with. I think I’ll wait until the end of the week and see what other good stuff you post before I decide what to make for Sunday!
This is my last Superbowl-ish recipe :) The next one is a dessert and so you’re safe if you want a savory recipe picking from what I’ve already posted…it’s back to sugar after this!
You’ve never seen this? Well I’m glad it’s new-to-you! If you try this, I know you will love it!
Cheese is the sole reason why I’ll never be vegan. This dip is perfect. I love cheese and I love sauce…I’m a have a little pasta with my sauce girl…Can’t wait to make this…perhaps for the Superbowl
Cheese is so hard to live without – agreed! If you make this, LMK!!
Yeah. I’d take this over pizza with a crust any day. It looks so incredibly cheesy!!!
