Today is National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day.  I am a peanut butter lover, that is for sure!  I have a whole post with Peanut Butter Recipes

Did you do anything to celebrate the holiday?  Julie and Janetha both mentioned the holiday.

I celebrated with a few spoonfuls of DCD that I reviewed here

And I ate my one-a-day Special K barYes, lately it’s been a one-a-day habit.  I like it.

Stacked Special K Bars

I mean, look at that peanut butter + brown sugar + Karo syrup.  That is heaven in my mouth.

If I had more time, I could have baked up a loaf of Peanut Butter Banana Bread (Vegan & GF)

Or made a batch of No Bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Protein Bars (Vegan & GF)

If you missed my Peanut Butter Recipes Post, you may want to mosey on over to it and channel your inner peanut butter lover.

In other matters, it was a sunny day here and I took advantage of some of the great weather and got a 2 mile run in while pushing a 75 pound kid + jogging stroller combo into the wind and up hills.  Huff and puff much?

And then I came inside, did 20 minutes of  weight lifting moves and yoga moves.  With my 12 pound dumbbells and yoga mat.  Whatever comes to mind, that’s what I do.

I don’t have time or energy for more!  So far, it seems to be working for me and so no reason to change it up.

From my Cookbook Review & Free Cookbooks post from earlier, it was interesting to hear what you look for in a cookbook, and whether or not you make recipes from cookbooks, blogs, or improvise.  Most of you said you look for great pictures in a book (me too and many books lack this I’ve found), ease of preparation of the recipe, and commonly found ingredients.

  1. I love pb, but it doesn’t love me back. Alas.

I’m all over the coffee and chocolate holiday. I say we combine them into a week-long holiday, no?

  2. Hello! I have been reading for over a year, not sure if I’ve ever commented before. I might just be a lurker. ;)

Just wondering how you can eat the Special K bars if you avoid gluten and dairy? I have a mild wheat allergy, so I can relate, and occasionally break down and shove my face with homemade wheat-filled snicker-doodles made specifically for my fiance. It’s never a good idea though…

Love the blog! And Skylar is precious. :)

    1. I try my best to avoid dairy and gluten but after 5 yrs of NONE, no cheating, not a drop of either…my gut is healed to the point where a tiny bit doesnt seem to bother me. So I enjoy them after years of healing :)

  3. My holiday would involve shutting down some streets so people could walk, bike play in a car-free environment! And I celebrated today’s holiday by having oatmeal in a jar of Dark Chocolate Dreams; it was sooo good.

  4. I love, love peanut butter! I did get a workout in today, I taught a class tonight and it has been a while :)

  5. 1. Yes, 30 minutes this morning and then another 45 minutes (a walk with Meghan–I totally count that!) later in the afternoon.
    2. Um, yes!!
    3. National Smile at Everyone You Meet Day. :-) Life would be so much happier if more people smiled at strangers.

  6. I’m not going to lie, I got a killer workout in today! Ran two miles, did 40 minutes of Body Pump lifting class, and finished up my final two miles. About 1hr 20 min total…all before 0630AM phew!

I’m a nut butter lover in general. AB is probably my favorite because it is so naturally sweet and I love the texture :-)

My holidays would totally be the same as yours!! Plus a national don’t go to work day :-) That one is a must!

  7. Oh yes, love my PB. I had some in my oatmeal this morning even before I knew the holiday ;-) Glad you had some gorgeous weather. It was really pretty here today, so I got in a really good run

  8. Beautiful pics. You know I’m always a sucker for those. My holiday would be… Amy’s Kitchen day! Which, for better or worse, is several days per month for me. ;) Speaking of chocaholics, just baked the vegan chocolate cake (as cupcakes/muffins) recipe from The Joy of Vegan Baking — shouldda made peanut butter frosting. I am a huge PB addict like yourself… off the spoon is my method of choice! My second holiday of choice would be Purchase Your Umpteenth Cookbook Day, which is something I can’t seem to stop doing these days. I just got “Vegan Cookies Invade Your Cookie Jar” by Isa Chandra Moskowitz + “Healthy Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes” and am already eying “750 Best Muffin Recipes” and “100 Best Vegan Baking Recipes” on Amazon. You’ve talked about cookbooks earlier; would love to know which you and your readers use the most or recommend.

  9. I got my workout in! Lots of strength training today, I’m going to feel it tomorrow!

I loveeee peanut butter. Seriously, so addicted. Thank goodness for it :)

  10. Yes, yes, yes LOVE peanut butter! All nut butters really.

Whoa, look at those sexy muscles!! Hot stuff, missy! :)

If I could create a holiday, it would be called National Whiny Day. Shopping and desserts would quickly become the tradition on this day. I’d also create National Self-Employed Day for self-employed people who don’t get 3-day weekends and and regular holidays off.

  11. um, you are in such incredible shape I’m jealous!

Yay for pb day! I haven’t celebrated yet… Gotta get on that ;)
