I’ve had one of those days that if there could be a snag or bump in the road, I hit it.

Everything from burning my finger on my coffee pot that I thought was cool to dumping a bag of frozen edamame all over the floor to Skylar ripping her favorite pair of pants and having her own snag-alicious day.

Edamame

Nothing that’s earth-shattering but it’s time for a…

Deep breath.

Regroup.

And time to think about chocolate.

Questions:

1. What’s your number one “I’ve had a long day and need something amazing tasting” snack or food?

Mine include chocolate, good coffee, peanut butter, or really desserts of any kind.

Definitely sweet, not savory.  Some people want chips or french fries.  I’ll take chocolate.

2. Fill in the Blank:

It’s Time For ____________

(It’s Time For a run before it becomes pitch black outside!  Dark by 5pm is so not my preference.  And then it will be Time For dinner, the dishes, photo editing, and maybe a little Real Housewives on my DVR.  Guilty pleasure that I make time for.)

  1. I had a somewhat similar end to my day…When that happens, I like to snack on my 5 minute peanut butter oatmeal cookie dough balls, chocolate, and/or a big bowl of steamed veggies (broccoli, brussels sprouts, etc). The comfort of the sugar/fat plus the grounding feeling I get from greens helps my system feel calm when I’m anxious :) All is well now.
P.S. I loooooove the sound of those Oreo balls! I clicked over- yum yum!

  2. Oh yes, I’m all about the chocolate and peanut butter when I’m having “one of those days” or any day for that matter! ;)

  3. Oh my, those dark chocolate, chocolate covered strawberry cookies look and sound to die for! If I find those chocolate covered strawberries I will be making those!

    1. TJs sells choc covered fruit but they aren’t ‘essential’ to the recipe…you could stuff them with a hershey’s kiss, nothing, a piece of snickers bar…whatever!

  4. definately coffee..usually a comforting one like a latte or cappucino!! I also love oatmeal..I know wierd, but somethig comforting about it!

  5. ice cream, definitely ice cream. a slice of carrot cake doesn’t hurt either.

it’s time for BED! i’m exhausted. and the 5 pm. darkness makes me tired earlier than usual.

    1. I blame 19 hour days for part of my issues…I can’t believe you’re getting ready to go to bed. Lucky you :)

  6. For me it’s a beer, some super salty chips, and followed up with chocolate of some sort–Oreos, cupcakes, or cookies. Doesn’t matter!

Hope you have a better rest of your day and that the sweets can cure it quickly!

  7. Man, I hear ya– my pregnancy hormones were in full gear today. On those days, nothing is better than a comforting dinner…and a food rub from the hub :-)

  8. Dessert definitely makes everything better. Your day sounds like mine which started with locking my keys in my car at work:)

  9. tea is my answer to everything, and some dark chocolate…I also find meditation and petting furry animals helps a lot. :)
I hope your day improves! The way I see it, a bad day makes the good days seem that much better. Maybe?

  10. It’s time for bed for me! Body is still adjusting to the time change so 9 o clock hour is sounding too good to pass up. Glad it wasn’t huge bumps in the road for you today and things that some sweets can fix :)

  11. It’s time for….wine and cheese. :)
But wait, that is all the time!

    Hope your day gets better!

  12. I hate those days…I always stop at Starbucks on my way home from work for a pick-me-up or buy a new bottle of wine :) I seriously like your chocolate solution though…especially those Nutella brownies. Hoping tomorrow is a better day for you and Skylar both!
