Do you like peanuts and peanut butter?

Peanut butter has my heart. Almond butter is a bit too thin and doesn’t pack enough flavor punch compared to peanut butter.

Sunflower seed butter, Cookie Butter Spread or Biscoff, and Nutella are all great, but peanut butter trumps them all for me.

Ironically, I don’t like whole peanuts, or nuts of any kind, in desserts in their whole form. Ground up into peanut butter is a different story and I always bake with smooth rather than crunchy peanut butter.

  1. The fact that you can post that many recipes featuring peanut butter is pretty impressive. Talk about being a peanut lover.

Like you, I’m not a fan of almond butter that much, and I’ve experimented with several brands because so many bloggers rave about it that I feel like I must just not being getting the right brand. This happened with me and tahini – I hated my first jar, but now I want to swim in that stuff. However, have you ever tried Barney Butter almond butter. It’s delicious and has a Jiff PB like texture and smoothness. The ingredient list on it is pretty simply but it does have added sugar and oil.

  2. I agree that peanut butter is the best. So many bloggers were raving about almond butter that I bought some just to see what the fuss was about. Wasn’t all that special, IMO

    1. Me, too…just, meh, nothing great however Ive heard Justin’s is amazing but I dont want to pay $12 or $14 for a SMALL jar!

  3. Wow – you sure have a lot of recipes that use PB!! I didn’t know that National Peanut day was today, but I think I may have had peanut butter at breakfast … or almond butter … I forget!

  4. I’m so glad you posted this, Avery! I have about 30 jars of peanut butter and nut butter at home and I need ways to use it up! And no, I am not exaggerating.

    1. I have so many, too. The samples I receive, the ones I buy, the this’es and that’s, the maybe I’ll try this brand…yes…I know what you mean!

  5. You amaze me and crack me up! I can’t believe all the peanut butter recipes you’ve done, and every time you post them I discover something new…this time it’s your peanut butter oatmeal white chocolate chip cookies…aaaaahhhh! I have to make them now.

    1. those cookies are probably my fave cookie on my blog (tied with the choc chip oatmeal PB ones, but they may even edge those out a hair) and definitely in the top 5 cookies of my life…I love those things!

And this is not all my PB recipes. I have about 40+ more that I didn’t even link up to. Lol

  6. I love peanut butter, but I don’t have any pb goodies in the freezer or oven, so I’ll just have to make a batch of my homemade pb, but that’s not a bad way to celebrate the day!

    1. The ones you made are sort of a cross between the NutterButter Bars & the PB Nutella Graham Bars I have in this post (items 14 & 15). That recipe from Allrecipes has made it around the world & back :) and when I made #14 & #15, I knew it was similar to the Allrecipes recipe, but tweaked :)

  7. Oh my goodness, Happy Peanut Day indeed! Your roundup of BEAUTIFUL pictures and drool-worthy peanut butter recipes has my head spinning with baking ideas and a serious need to bake right this second!

  8. I LOVE that you have 35! peanut butter recipes here, Averie. So many delicious recipes but a couple of my favs are the Baked Chocolate Peanut Butter Donuts with Vanilla Peanut Butter Glaze, the adorable Thumbprint and of course – ba da bing! – the White Chocolate Vanilla Marshmallow Cake Bars! Seriously awesome photos of all and I love how easy and great tasting all of them are! Great list of PB treats!!

I am with you on the nuts in dessert thing. I do, however, LOVE nuts in my food. Whole cashews and peanuts in any savory dish for texture is my favorite. I love them in salads or on my zucchini pasta or even sprinkled in my soups. Happy Peanut Butter Day! Enjoy that gorgeous homemade peanut butter of yours! I am off to pick apples in my friends orchard later! Yay fall! :-)

    1. Now when I post those bars, I think of you b/c I know they’re some of your faves :) And we think alike with the whole nuts…in savory yes, but not in sweets!

  9. In honor of National Peanut Day, I just made your roasted PB, coconut oil, & ginger carrots (and burned my tongue because I ‘m too impatient to wait 5 more minutes for them to cool off–but it was worth a couple of singed taste buds!). These are part of breakfast and lunch today. If my husband is lucky, I’ll save him a few!

    1. Darn – I forgot to link those up in this post under savory. Oh well, next time :)

But glad you love them so much (but ouch on the tongue!)

  10. Considering that I eat PB pretty much every day, I think I have any holiday covered LOL. Now, when are you opening up a bakery???

  11. I love peanut butter, I’m pretty sure you could put it on anything and it would taste amazing! I’ll have to eat some extra peanut butter today to celebrate the holiday (:

  12. This post makes me giddy. 35 recipes with my all time favorite food in the entire world…. incredible. Things I totally wanna try: chocolate chip PB oatmeal cookies (they look SO SO soft), PB cocoa krispie smores bars, PBJ thumbprints (adorable!), peanut sauce tofu, and those combos bars!! Loved waking up to this post this morning Averie. You have some killer PB recipes in your archives and they deserve to be in the spotlight. 1. chocolate chip PB oatmeal cookies are some of my faves – and now i need to make your scotchies cookies!

I hope you have better luck at the thrift store than Anthro – your wallet will thank you :)
