Creamy Chocolate Martini with Baileys — Everything is better with Nutella, including these martinis that go down so easily! The Frangelico adds hazelnut, cinnamon, and vanilla notes, while the Baileys Irish Cream provides richness and creaminess.
Easy Baileys Cocktail Recipe
Irish cream and Frangelico are two of my favorites. They’re a match made in creamy martini heaven. And things only get better when Nutella is involved.
Combining Irish Cream with Frangelico is a natural pairing. Frangelico is a liqueur made with toasted hazelnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, cocoa and vanilla extract. Those are some of my favorite flavors and ingredients, and Frangelico lends a rich hazelnut flavor to the drink.
This chocolate martini recipe is an automatic win for me because it uses Irish cream. I even started making my own Homemade Irish Cream. I love DIY projects that take literally 1 minute to blend together and help me save a little money.
To rim your martini glass for this drink, you’re going to have to dip your finger in Nutella. Literally caught with your hand in the cookie jar, or the Nutella jar, is okay here. I tried rimming the glass by putting the Nutella on with a spoon, but it wasn’t working very well.
Normally it’s jars of chocolate peanut butter my fingers are caught in, but I won’t say no to Nutella.
Crushed graham crackers adorn the side of the Nutella-rimmed glass. It’s a good thing I was drinking this at home rather than at a swanky bar because I was literally licking the side of the glass. Classy.
If there’s a way to work graham crackers into a recipe, stuck to the side of a martini glass via Nutella is a great effort.
The graham crackers and Nutella, the creamy factor from the Irish cream; with hazelnut, cinnamon, and vanilla notes from the Frangelico, these martinis go down so easily.
Optionally, you could add a splash of coffee if you’re into Creamy Boozy Coffee drinks like I am.

What’s in This Chocolate Martini?
To make this chocolate martini recipe with Baileys, you’ll need a handful of ingredients. Here are the chocolate martini ingredients you’ll be using:
- Nutella
- Graham crackers (or graham cracker crumbs)
- Frangelico
- Baileys Irish Cream (store-bought or homemade)
How to Make a Chocolate Martini with Baileys
This is the best chocolate martini recipe and it’s so easy to make! Simply rim a martini glass with Nutella (I found using my fingers to be the easiest). Place the graham cracker crumbs on a plate and time the glass with them.
Add equal parts Frangelico and Baileys to the glass and stir gently to combine.
Can I Prep This in Advance?
If you want to make multiple chocolate martinis for a group of people, you can prep the glasses ahead of time. However, I’d wait to combine the Baileys and Frangelico because this cocktail tastes best fresh.
Tips for Making a Chocolate Martini with Baileys
This recipe makes one cocktail, but you can easily scale it to serve a crowd. It’s a simple combination of one part Baileys to one part Frangelico, so you can measure out larger quantities as needed.
If you don’t have graham crackers where you live, try using a neutral-flavored, slightly sweet biscuit or cookie instead. (A digestive biscuit is likely the closest thing in Europe).
If you don’t typically keep graham crackers on hand, don’t fret. You can use the leftovers to make Graham Cracker Toffee, Cheesecake Bars, Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores Bars, Boston Cream Icebox Cake, and more!

Martini magic my friend! Pinned!
Wish we could sip one together. Thanks for pinning!
Heavenly! This is incredible :)
i’d be licking the side of that glass too, nice one Averie! I’m thinking i might break my coffee fast with that boozy iced coffee tomorrow. The perfect entry to the weekend :))
You need to break the coffee fast with this indeed! Good for you for doing that. I am doing better on my coffee than I was about 3-6 mos ago when it was at an all time high!
It’s only 11am, but I am ready for one of these right now! Yum!
Me too :)
Oh Averie, this drink has stolen my heart! I’m ready for one right now :)
Love this – I’m happy to have any excuse to put my finger in the Nutella jar!
We think alike!
I have a big bottle of Frangelico sitting on my bar – I often just drink it straight as a fun after dinner drink (um, should I admit that??), but I am absolutely trying this version next time. Holy yum, Averie – love it!!
I love your admission. I do the same with Baileys :) But together, the Fran and the Baileys are so good!
Frangelico is dandy with bourbon, too. I like a little in a Manhattan, finding the rich nuttiness a nice complement to the warm caramel note of the whiskey. It also tames the sweetness of the maraschino cherry garnish.
It’s a girly drink :D I love chocolate and nutella. wow, it must be delicious.
A boozy Nutella drink? Hell yes! I could’ve really used this on Wednesday – shit day at work. Oh well – I’ll just have to make this all weekend!
Ugh sorry about your day – but hope you’re enjoying the weekend!
I absolutely adore Frangelico and Irish Cream. This martini had my name on it :)
That’s almost too pretty to drink!
All of my favorite liqueurs in one drink! Love this!
Minus the nutella and graham crackers I drink baileys and frangelico together on a weekly basis, it is by far my favorite combo ever!!!
That’s awesome that you’re already a fan :)
You’re amazing, Averie. Boozy liquid dessert = a very happy me. I’d have been right there with you, gnawing and licking at the Nutella and graham cracker crumbs on the rim of the glass. I have no shame, obviously. I’m in awe of how gorgeous your photos are. I’m terrible at photographing drinks!
Thanks for the compliments, Nancy. I won’t lie, drinks can be tricky to photograph. The glare from the liquid and the glass and all the reflectiveness and light bouncing can be a challenge but when everything clicks, it’s all worth it :)
Oh man, love me some Frangelico. That stuff is soooo tasty! I love using it in baked goods for a little hazelnut flavoring, too :)
omg yumness
Oh my, you really have combined the best of both worlds here! Martini and nutella!!
This looks amazing! Just like a dessert but waaaaay better :)
Love this dessert martini! Looks amazing!
I lived in Europe for a year. I love all things Nutella. This is a very interesting way to use it. I look forward to trying it.
I have been checking out your blog site and have been enjoying it thoroughly! But, this drink has now just made me fall in love with Averiecooks! Awesome drink recipe!!
Well that’s great – thanks!
OMG this martini looks amazing and pure genius! I need one now… and it’s not even 7:30 in the morning! lol.
Oh my goodness gracious. This looks amazing. I had a dark chocolate orange martini on my 21st almost a year ago but the sugary alcohol didn’t make me feel very well… I think that this might be the redeeming martini recipe for me! :)
This is sweet-ish but not like a pina colada sweet or anything :) It’s more rich and smooth than sweet. From the Baileys :)
wowo…A party in a glass and booze…my kinda cocktail:)/
you got that right! :)
WOW! Can you deliver that through my computer? Looks fab…could use one right about now!
Me too :)
Wow Averie! You’ve outdone yourself. This is irresistable!
These are TROUBLE!!! In the best sense of the word ;)
I totally agree :)
Why oh why have I never had Frangelico? OMG Averie, I crown you the best drink maker ever.
It’s a title I happily accept. Thank you!
A-MA-ZING! This looks incredible. Practically running out the door now to get the ingredients!
Mmmm, that’s success then! Glad the post inspired you :)
You had me at “Creamy Nutella”! This drink looks SO good!
Holy Martini BatMan! I have to have this! Great recipe!!!
Such a fun martini and I’m in love with that graham cracker rim – I’d be after each crumb too.
You just can’t show things like this to a nursing mama!! ;-) You’ll be on my list of Somethings in my Friday recap post for sure!
Even though when I was nursing I hardly drank because I would have just fallen asleep – LOL – you can. Just time it properly with a glass of wine or 1 drink. You deserve it :)
I love Nutella and Frangelico together, and adding Irish Cream sounds even more delicious!
Yum. This looks like a great Christmas drink. I’m definitely going to give the homemade Irish cream a go – anything to feel “crafty” and save some pennies :)
It’s a great any time drink if you ask me :) But yes around xmas for sure, too!
Crushed graham crackers – that’s brilliant! It’s close enough to Friday, I’ll take two, please. :D
p.s. I’m still Pinning your yummy photos but I’m not using the @ anymore – it’s acting kind of wonky lately. (Sometimes the username changes as it’s repinned…kind of like the game ‘telephone.’) :P
I thought the @ thing was just me!! It does that to me too, and then all of a sudden a random person is probably getting a notification, til i quickly delete it! I know exactly what you mean that the username changes! So weird!
Nutella and Averie, how are you guys so darn good? :)
LOL :)
Seriously?!?! This is my favorite Averie recipe EVER. And it was probably a throw-together at the last minute kind of recipe, too. But, hi – whiskey and nutella in a classy looking martini glass?!?!
This really looks like something that would be served at a fancy NYC club.
Fave recipe EVER!??! In 5 yrs of reading EVERY.Single.POST! ?! Even if you are exaggerating a little, still very high praise, thank you.
Fancy NYC club – yeah, this joint called Kitchen Averie. :)
This can double as dessert Averie! Gorgeous
My thoughts exactly!
I love dessert martinis! And Frangelico is so yummy. I’ll need to get the ingredients for this recipe to have on hand in our house to impress our guests next time we have people over for dinner.
Enjoy it!
I love using both irish cream and Frangelico in baking!! The both add awesome flavors!
This is so pretty and I know that if I drank I would be all over this!! It is gorgeous and so fun and I mean NUTELLA??? Oh, heck yes!
And thank you for even commenting on this post! But yeah, it’s delish. I won’t lie :)
I will gladly sip one or three of these right now for breakfast. Averie, these are amazing. SO darn creative like all of your drink recipes! Your martini glasses are gorgeous. I love the pretty stars on them! But what really caught my eye is the Nutella dipped rim. And the graham crackers. Oh my lanta!! And yes, best to drink these at home. Licking martini glasses isn’t always pretty.
LOL to your last line. Thanks for the sweet comment about my creativity and this one was rim-lickin’ good :) I wish we could go out for drinks!! ONE DAY!!! SOON I hope! xoxo
Hello adult beverage time!! This sounds incredible!
I used to work fine dining and we had a server named Lillian- she was a 68 year old French immigrant who had been there forehhhhhver and her favorite thing to to at the end of her shift was to hop up on a bar stool and order a drink with Frangelico — I loooved the was she said it with her heavy French accent. This reminds me so much of her! Making these and toasting to Lillian!
Love that story. That is awesome. Here’s to Lillian!
Give me 6 months and I’m AWLL OVER DEEZ.
And I’ll happily babysit :)
Martinis are my drink of choice these days, and I already love Nutella. I love that you created a Nutella martini. Seems like it was made especially for me! I posted a boozy dessert today, so I guess we are on the same wavelength!
Off to check yours out!
you had me at nutella. and martinia. and frangellico.
This is such a beautiful dessert drink. I don’t usually have things like that – but there was the amazing coffee drink that they used to make at the French restaurant Jason worked at. I didn’t even like coffee then, but the liqueurs that they put in there…..mmmmm. I’m fairly certain one was an Irish cream.
Thanks Heather! And the drink you speak of sounds wonderful. Funny how drinks and moments in time can stand out in our minds like that for years to come! Great story!
Mmm I’m all over this martini! Yum!
You had me at the title of this post. I DEFINITELY have to try this next time I feel like having a classy {ish} drink ;) I don’t think ‘responsible’ and ‘drinking’ go well in the same sentence ;)
You had me at Nutella and martini.
Oh, wow! Girl, you are totally speaking my language! This looks heavenly!
Wish we could go out for a couple together!
Last night, I licked my plate. Quietly, but still. Licked it clean.
If only I’d had this drink to make me feel more classy.
LOL and I’ve done more than my share. This drink would have classed your night right up I bet :)
Now this is a fun drink! Love it! It combines so many of my fav things!
mine too :)
Frangelico, Kahlua, Amaretto, and Bailey’s are my favorite liqueurs, and whiskey is my husband’s favorite hard liquor. I see a couple of spoonfuls of nutella in the photo–I think I need those with my martini, and maybe an extra graham cracker too! Fun, easy to make drink!
Those are my faves too!! My first ever drink in a bar was an Amaretto Sour. Like what young person orders THAT?! But I did :) And the others, well, I know you’ve made my homemade Baileys recipe and I know you love it like I do! I really wanted to put the extra Nutella all over the inside of the glass but it would have ruined the photos – but would have tasted great!
So innovative to use Nutella as a rim garnish! Simple cocktails are usually the best cocktails. Thanks so much for sharing, Averie!
Wooooeeeeee, these look like tasty fun. I still haven’t experimented with Frangelico. It may be next on my list of liqueur frontiers to cross.
Extremely tasty fun :)
Trust you Averie to turn the most loved childhood spread(after PB of course) in to an adult delight. This looks so good, it would go so well for a cocktail party.
The hazelnut is so under rated but I think it is because when people roast them they always eat the blacken skins too! (They taste bitter after roasting).
Lovely recipe as always
Glad you like! I agree with you about the nuts. I think people tend to over-roast their nuts. This obsession with ‘toasting nuts to bring out the flavor’. Yes, true it does; but a little bit too long with roasting and as you said, the skins burn and they’re bitter and awful. Wish we could share a couple of these!
